C Enes Kanter was given a loud ovation in Oklahoma City Thursday both in warmups and when he was introduced as a starter. Kanter played 180 games for the Thunder over the previous two-plus seasons.

F Carmelo Anthony scored 22 points in his first game for the Thursday, and he did it against the Knicks, the team that traded him. "That chapter is closed," Anthony said. "No more Knicks talk. We can just focus on the Thunder and moving forward and what we have to do as a team and an organization and move forward." Anthony hit a 3-pointer less than a minute into the game and getting a large roar.

F Paul George finished with 28 points in his first game for the Thunder in a win over New York on Thursday..

G Russell Westbrook turned in a triple-double with 21 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds in Thursday's win over New York. He sealed the mark with his final rebound with about four minutes remaining and the game well in hand. The triple-double was the 80th of Westbrook's career. Westbrook averaged a triple-double a season ago.

G Kyle Lowry scored 12 points and had nine assists for the Raptors in Thursday's win over the Bulls.

C Robin Lopez scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Bulls, who lost to the Raptors on Thursday.

C.J. Miles, who made 41 percent of his 3-point attempts with the Indiana Pacers last season, was 6 of 9 from beyond the arc Thursday night and scored 22 points off the bench as the Raptors defeated the Chicago Bulls 117-100. "I want to be able to be that spark," Miles said. "Come in, communicate, bring energy. I was overhyped in that first half."

F Jonas Valanciunas led the Raptors with 23 points and 15 rebounds in the season-opening win over the Bulls on Thursday.

F Chander Parsons scored six points in Wednesday's 103-91 victory over New Orleans. Parsons, who signed a $94 million contract before last season and suffered through an injury-marred first season in Memphis, was booed by his own fans. Parsons called the booing "tasteless" and said, "I'll just go into every game with the mentality it's a road game, if that's how it's going to be." Said teammate Marc Gasol: "I wasn't happy with that at all," Gasol said. "He's one of us. Booing Chandler is like booing Mike or myself."

C Nikola Vucevic had a double-double in the opener with 19 points and 13 rebounds. One of six players on the team with at least 12 points, Vucevic had nine points and eight rebounds by halftime.

G Dion Waiters was one of seven players to score in double figures in the opener. He had 15 points, including seven in the fourth-quarter rally.

G Evan Fournier scored 23 points, including seven in the last 2:28, to lead Orlando in its season-opening victory. Fournier hit a 3-pointer from 25 feet for the 108-103 lead. He hit a finger roll for a 112-107 advantage, then sealed the victory with a driving layup for a 114-107 lead with 30 seconds remaining. "It was time to make something happen," Fournier said. "Coach called the play, and it was time to get things done."

C Hassan Whiteside posted game highs with 26 points and 22 rebounds in a season-opening loss to Orlando. He scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead a comeback that fell short. "He (Whiteside) was great," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "But he could score 40 with 30 rebounds, and if we don't defend, those numbers are empty."

F Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, beginning his third season, is the longest tenured member of the Nets.

G Victor Oladipo scored 22 points to lead eight Pacers in double figures, helping Indiana to a 140-131 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night in the season opener for both teams. "We got stretch bigs and we got downhill guards," the shooting guard said. "Playing fast is going to be to our benefit. ... We've just got to keep improving. We all feel like we gave up a little too many points. But we can fix a lot of things and a lot of mistakes we made. We're looking forward to improve. (The offense is) good for us, especially with the kind of guards we have."

G Alec Burks scored 10 of his 16 points in the final period to lead Utah to a 106-96 victory on Wednesday night. He knocked down a 3-pointer that put the Jazz ahead for good as part of a decisive 31-5 run. "I've been through a lot injury-wise," Burks said. "It's just great to be out there healthy. Just being out there on the floor healthy, that's the main thing."

G Jimmy Butler, one of Minnesota's flashy offseason signings, scored 12 points in his debut with his new team. He clearly was disappointed with the outcome. "We didn't rebound like we were capable of, and we turned the ball over late in the game and we can't do that."

PG Tony Parker missed Wednesday's opener against Minnesota because of quadriceps injuries. Parker suffered his injury in last season's playoffs and is targeting a November return to the court.

F LaMarcus Aldridge scored 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Spurs to a 107-99 victory over Minnesota in the season opener for both teams. Aldridge signed a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension on Monday.

F Kawhi Leonard missed Wednesday's opener against Minnesota. He did not practice or play during the preseason and his availability is yet to be determined. His overall timetable for a return will continue to be evaluated on a game-to-game basis moving forward.
