Fri May 16 201415:26Steve Blake is an expected target for Knicks
The Knicks are expected to target free agent Steve Blake this offseason.
With the news of Raymond Felton being on the trade block, the Knicks are definitely going to be after a point guard. A guy like Blake makes a lot of sense in their system for his ability to move without the ball and get open for catch-and-shoot triples. In fact, 78.9 percent of Blake's treys last season came off catch-and-shoot chances. The Knicks may want him as a backup, but he would certainly fit in with the first unit.

Wed Mar 19 201402:55Steve Blake posts big line in easy win
Steve Blake had 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, a block and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes off the Warriors bench on Tuesday.
The Warriors won handily and Mark Jackson was able to get Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson some rest late in this one. Blake also saw some extra run with Andre Iguodala out for three games with a sore knee, but we don't trust him enough to tell you to use him.

Wed Mar 5 201423:19Steve Blake plays 27 minutes in win
Steve Blake played 27 minutes in Wednesday's blowout win, finishing with four points, two rebounds and six assists on 2-of-6 shooting.
He saw a few extra minutes tonight when Stephen Curry left early with a sore leg, while the fact the game was over by halftime also helped. As long as Curry can walk, Blake has no fantasy value.

Sun Feb 23 201401:37Steve Blake has five assists in 16 minutes
Steve Blake came off the bench for six points, five assists, a steal and two 3-pointers in just 16 minutes off the Warriors bench on Saturday.
Sixteen minutes isn't going to cut it in fantasy and it would appear that his trade to the Warriors has killed his fantasy value. Buh-bye, Blake.

Fri Feb 21 201402:07Steve Blake scores three in GSW debut
Steve Blake made his Warriors debut on Thursday with three points, two boards, one assist, one block and one 3-pointer in 18 minutes.
He played on and off the ball with the second unit tonight and his 18 minutes serve as where the bar should be set while the Warriors are healthy. Blake can be cut in most formats.

Thu Feb 20 201420:57Steve Blake will play vs. the Rockets
Steve Blake will play against the Rockets on Thursday.
It will be his Warriors debut and it's unclear how many minutes he'll see. The Warriors play Stephen Curry 37.7 minutes per game, so there are not going to be many minutes available for Blake. While it's a nice pickup in reality, Blake's fantasy value has been crushed with his move up the California coastline.

Thu Feb 20 201416:37Steve Blake expected to be available
Steve Blake is expected to be available to play in Thursday's game against the Rockets.
Since the Lakers/Warriors deal was completed on Wednesday, the paperwork has gone through. Look for Blake to get his beak wet with a few minutes off the bench in a combo guard role. He's not a fantasy option while playing behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Fri Feb 14 201401:37Steve Blake looking a little better on shots
Steve Blake still seemed bothered by his elbow injury against the Thunder on Thursday with 13 points, six boards, two assists, two steals and three 3-pointers on 4-of-10 from the field in 38 minutes.
His shot doesn't look as smooth as it used to and still pushing the ball due to his sore elbow, but he looked a little better tonight. Blake has multiple steals in all of his games since returning from injury with averages of 7.6 points, 5.6 boards, 8.2 dimes and 1.8 triples on just 28.6 percent from the field. The All-Star break should help him and could salvage his woeful 37.7 percent field goal shooting on the season.

Wed Feb 12 201415:19Steve Blake expects to play on Thursday
Steve Blake said he expects to play on Thursday night against the Thunder.
He said he is going to have to play with pain in his elbow. Blake's shot was a little funky looking on Tuesday night and his elbow clearly affected his shooting, especially from long range. The Lakers currently have just one healthy point guard on their roster, Kendall Marshall, and would really need to get some minutes out of Blake. Both he and Marshall should be owned in all leagues.

Wed Feb 12 201402:03Steve Blake still dealing with elbow soreness
Steve Blake is still dealing with a sore elbow and hit just 2-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for five points, five rebounds, eight assists and two steals in Tuesday's loss.
This was the Lakers' sixth straight loss at home, which is nearly unheard of, while Blake is finding life tougher than it was against the Sixers and Cavaliers, when he put up a couple monster lines. He's cooled off, but is still worth owning, while his elbow injury is still a factor. It still bothers him when he shoots and could still cause him to miss time at some point. And with Steve Nash leaving this one early with his lingering leg injury, Kendall Marshall (7 points, 7 assists, 3 steals) is still a guy you'll want to hang onto. Consider Blake a little questionable for Thursday against the Thunder.

Sun Feb 9 201418:18Steve Blake scores just eight points vs. CHI
Steve Blake shot 3-of-12 from the field for eight points against the Bulls, adding four boards, four assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes.
It's the worst line in a very long time with five turnovers and some sub-par shooting. Blake has made just 32.3 percent of his shots since his return from an injury to his shooting elbow, so that could be part of the problem. However, his averages of 5.8 boards, 8.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 2.0 triples in his last three make him a must-own player.

Fri Feb 7 201422:34Blake scores 14 points with eight assists
Steve Blake played through a minor thigh injury and scored 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including four threes) with four rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block in 36 minutes on Friday against the Sixers.
Blake is arguably Mike D'Antoni's favorite player right now and he's not leaving the lineup as long as he can walk. He will be a must-start player at his current level of health until Kobe Bryant returns, and even then it's possible that he hangs around in fantasy lineups.

Fri Feb 7 201417:35Steve Blake likely to give it a go vs. Philly
Steve Blake (thigh) is likely to play against the Sixers on Friday, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
The Lakers will be starting Steve Nash, Blake, Wes Johnson, Ryan Kelly and Robert Sacre against a very soft Philly interior defense. Blake is coming off a triple-double on Wednesday and should see a nice allotment of minutes at both guard spots. As of right now, the Lakers have eight players available to play, assuming Blake is ready.

Fri Feb 7 201411:54Steve Blake suddenly a game-time call
Steve Blake (thigh) is a game-time decision for Friday's matchup at Philadelphia.
Blake must have sustained his thigh bruise while posting a triple-double against the Cavs Wednesday. It doesn't sound too serious, but his status ahead of the 7pm ET tip is worth watching closely. With Jordan Farmar, Jodie Meeks and Nick Young all injured, Blake would play a ton of minutes and have a huge usage rate against the Sixers' atrocious defense if he suits up. We should know his status by 6pm ET.

Fri Feb 7 201409:20D'Antoni: Need Blake on floor no matter what
Coach Mike D'Antoni said "we need [Steve Blake] on the floor, no matter what."
The Lakers rotation is a mess thanks to injuries and a rag-tag group of D-League talent. But one constant for D'Antoni is Blake, whether it's at point guard or shooting guard. He's playing 32.2 minutes per game this season and topped out at a season-high 40 in Wednesday's weird win at Cleveland. Blake is an extremely safe start in all formats, especially in Friday night's dream matchup at Philadelphia.

Wed Feb 5 201421:42Must-add Steve Blake drops triple-double
Steve Blake was fantastic down the stretch against the Cavs during a 119-108 win, posting a triple-double with 11 points, 10 boards, 15 assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes.
He hit a couple shots down the stretch to put the game away. Blake ran the offense from the wing and he's coming off a six-assist night on Tuesday. He had nine double-digit assist games in his last 13 games before missing time with an elbow injury back in December, so this isn't a shock. Obviously, Blake can't be on any wires after a night like this one.

Tue Feb 4 201423:13Steve Blake scoreless, ruptures eardrum
Steve Blake returned from his elbow injury and failed to score in 32 minutes, but also had five rebounds, six assists and three steals in Tuesday's loss.
He missed both of his shots, but also suffered a ruptured eardrum tonight. The good news is that he has been cleared to fly to Cleveland and was able to play through the injury. The weather in Cleveland is shaky and there are concerns about the Lakers being able to land at the airport tonight, but for now, Blake sounds like a go for Wednesday night against the Cavaliers. But with Steve Nash and Kendall Marshall healthy, and Jordan Farmar on his way back, Blake's going to have a tough time offering much consistency as Mike D'Antoni continue to mish-mash his lineup and rotation. On the other hand, Jodie Meeks (ankle) went down tonight and it doesn't sound like the Lakers plan on using Nash on Wednesday, which could mean another nice dose of minutes for Blake.

Tue Feb 4 201412:47Steve Blake will play Tuesday vs Timberwolves
Steve Blake (elbow) will start against the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
Blake has been out of the Lakers' lineup since December 10th with his elbow injury and will start alongside Steve Nash Tuesday night. Blake's assists totals will take a hit from earlier in the season, but he should be a good source of 3-pointers going forward. The interesting thing we'll be monitoring going forward is how Blake is able to co-exist in a crowded backcourt alongside Steve Nash, Jordan Farmar, and Kendall Marshall.
