Henderson underwent a left hip debridement shortly after he was acquired from from the Hornets in late June, which is clouding his return to the court. Once he does so, he could be eased into action, while CJ McCollum handles two-guard. In the long run, coach Terry Stotts will have to make a decision on the Blazers' starting shooting guard, but Henderson's veteran status may give him an upper hand in the competition.

Henderson had a left left hip debridement arthroscopy on Tuesday and is expected to be ready for training camp.

Henderson was traded to Portland in late June and overall the news appears to be positive regarding the procedure. Assuming his health permits, Henderson is in a great position to be the Trail Blazers' starting shooting guard to start the season with the departures of both Wesley Matthews and Aaron Afflalo, but he definitely lacks the shooting stroke that both those players presented.

Henderson and Noah Vonleh were traded to the Trail Blazers for Nicolas Batum on Wednesday, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Henderson recently exercised his player option for the 2015-16 season, but instead of playing for the Hornets during the upcoming season, he could jump into the Blazers' starting backcourt next to Damian Lillard. Henderson is coming off a relatively down season where he averaged just 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists over 29 minutes, so hopefully the change of scenery helps to spark a return to form.
