Thu Oct 30 201418:59Martin (foot) ruled out for Thursday's game against Timberwolves
Martin (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
Martin also missed the Pistons' season opener due to a foot injury, so Detroit's rotation Thursday won't be impacted by another absence from Martin. Nonetheless, the offseason addition will hope to make his Detroit debut Saturday versus Brooklyn.
Wed Oct 29 201420:14Martin inactive for Wednesday's season opener against Nuggets
Martin is inactive for Wednesday's season opener against the Nuggets, MLive.com's David Mayo reports.
Martin will be a healthy scratch, likely as a result of Luigi Datome (knee) being deemed healthy enough to suit up. Neither player is a high-percentage fantasy play until they can carve out more minutes in the Pistons' rotation.

Martin started at shooting guard Wednesday, finishing with 11 points, four rebounds and two treys in 30 minutes.
Don't read too much into Martin's starting nod, as both Jodie Meeks (back) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (knee) were sidelined with injuries. Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy has stated that he'll be toying around with starting lineups and rotations throughout the preseason, and Wednesday marked Martin's look at extending run. Even if multiple wings miss time during the regular season, the Pistons would likely turn to Caron Butler and/or Kyle Singler before giving Martin an opportunity at starter-lever minutes.

Martin (shoulder) will play in Thursday's preseason contest versus Milwaukee.
Martin missed Detroit's exhibition opener Tuesday due to a sore right shoulder, but will make his Pistons' preseason debut Thursday. Expected to fill a depth role, Martin should get plenty of playing time during the preseason to state his case for a place in the Pistons' rotation this season.

Martin (sore right shoulder) is inactive for Tuesday's preseason game, MLive's David Mayo reports.
He likely wouldn't have played even if he was healthy, as coach Stan Van Gundy wants to use a 10-man rotation.
Tue Jul 1 201417:03Pistons sign Cartier Martin to one-year deal
The Pistons have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with SF Cartier Martin.
Detroit also came to terms with Jodie Meeks, and Stan Van Gundy's priorities have been revealed with two deadly 3-point shooters signed after one day of free agency. Even if Josh Smith is traded or shifted to PF, as expected, Martin will face competition from Kyle Singler and Luigi Datome at the SF spot.

Mon Apr 14 201415:00Cartier Martin will start at small forward
Cartier Martin will start against the Bobcats on Monday.
DeMarre Carroll is getting rest tonight and it's probably going to be Cartier time for much of this game. Martin logged 29 minutes in Carroll's last DNP on Mar. 29, scoring 13 points with four boards, two assists, one block, two steals and two 3-pointers. There's a good chance he'll be above 30 minutes tonight and may be even above 35. He's a option for owners in daily leagues.

Sat Mar 29 201422:45Cartier Martin starts, plays 29 minutes
Cartier Martin started in place of DeMarre Carroll (illness) in Saturday's game vs. the Wizards, scoring 13 points with four boards, two assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers.
The Hawks don't seem to be very confident in playing Mike Scott at small forward and their guards are too small to play there as well, so Martin got some run tonight. Carroll doesn't project to miss much time which makes Martin a bit of an undesirable guy in most situations.

Thu Mar 6 201401:21Cartier Martin scores 16 in ugly loss
Cartier Martin hit 7-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for 16 points, six rebounds and three steals in 24 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
This game was a blowout and he was one of just a handful of Hawks able to make a shot tonight. The Hawks are still fighting for a playoff spot and need their starters to play better, so don't expect to see Cart-Mart do this on a regular basis.

Fri Feb 21 201413:33Cartier Martin signs with Hawks for season
Hawks signed Cartier Martin for the rest of the season.
Martin had to be waived so that the Antawn Jamison trade could go through. Once Jamison was waived, the Hawks were able to re-sign Martin. He'll be DeMarre Carrol's backup going forward.

Thu Feb 20 201417:56Cartier Martin waived by Hawks
Hawks will waive F Cartier Martin.
Martin is on a 10-day deal, but the Hawks will dump him early so they can get Antawn Jamison onto the roster. It's further confirmation that DeMarre Carroll (hamstring) is a good bet to return Friday.

Wed Feb 19 201418:51Cartier Martin will start again
Cartier Martin will start again on Wednesday night.
He started on Tuesday night and played 20 minutes, scoring 12 points with five boards and three 3-pointers. Martin could see more playing time tonight with Lou Williams dealing with migraines and also playing on a back-to-back, so he's worth a look in deeper leagues as a plug-and-play.

Tue Feb 18 201421:37Cartier Martin scores 12 in start for Hawks
Cartier Martin had 12 points, five rebounds, a block and three 3-pointers on 4-of-7 shooting in a start for DeMarre Carroll on Tuesday.
Carroll shouldn't miss much time with his hamstring injury, meaning it will be a short-lived run for Martin. Ignore him except in the deepest of leagues, although it doesn't sound like Carroll will play on Wednesday, either.

Tue Feb 18 201419:02Cartier Martin starts for Hawks on Tuesday
Cartier Martin will start at SF for the Hawks on Tuesday with DeMarre Carroll (hamstring) unavailable.
The move allows Lou Williams to stay in his bench role while keeping Kyle Korver at SG, so it should be less disruptive than the alternative. Martin is still playing on a second 10-day contract but it's possible that Atlanta will keep him around with their final roster spot once his current deal expires.

Tue Feb 11 201418:55Hawks sign Cartier Martin to 10-day deal
The Hawks signed G/F Cartier Martin to a second 10-day contract on Tuesday.
Martin will be ready to go for games on Tuesday and Wednesday, but his deal will expire during the All-Star break so the Hawks will either have to re-sign him for the rest of the season or let him seek a deal elsewhere. He's averaging just 5.8 points per game but is shooting a stellar 42.6 percent from downtown.

Sat Feb 1 201412:00Hawks sign Cartier Martin on 10-day deal
Hawks sign G/F Cartier Martin.
Martin recently spent a few weeks with the Bulls and he's earned another 10-day deal with the Hawks, for whom he averaged 6.6 points in 25 games earlier this season. He's likely to reprise a similar role the second time around, meaning he belongs on the waiver wire.

Fri Jan 31 201412:58Cartier Martin not with Bulls anymore
Cartier Martin's second 10-day contract with the Bulls has expired.
Martin is back on the street as a free agent. He averaged 2.5 points while playing 8.0 minutes in six appearances.

Mon Jan 20 201412:17Bulls may keep Cartier Martin all season
The Bulls hope to sign Cartier Martin for the rest of the season, according to Tom Thibodeau.
Martin has averaged 5.0 points in 14 minutes per game with the Bulls, while playing on a 10-day contract. He doesn't have any fantasy relevance and Thibodeau wants to keep him around because his "shooting and practice habits are beneficial."

Tue Jan 14 201400:45Cartier Martin plays just nine minutes
Cartier Martin played just nine minutes against the Wizards on Monday, scoring four points with one board, one assist one steal and one 3-pointer.
He was great on Saturday with 11 points, but Jimmy Butler coming back pretty much buried him. Martin might get another 10-day deal with the Bulls, but he's not going to be worth owning in most leagues while Mike Dunleavy and Butler are healthy.

Sat Jan 11 201422:52Cartier Martin gets 11 points in Bulls debut
Cartier Martin came off the bench in his Bulls debut, finishing Saturday's home victory with 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers.
He was thrust into a bigger role due to Jimmy Butler's quad injury, and he delivered just what could be expected from the six-year veteran. Fully 63 percent of his shot attempts in the NBA have come from downtown, which defines his role and helps to explain his lousy 39.1 percent FG average. He's only worth a look if you're in dire need of 3-pointers.
