Tue Jan 209:23Dante Exum Exits Early Monday With Heel Issue
Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum exited Monday's loss to Utah with a right heel contusion. He was already considered questionable for the game with the same issue. It looks like Exum wanted to give it a go, but he apparently wasn't able to push through the injury for the entire night. The Australian guard logged 12 minutes and had four points with three assists. Exum has been fantastic for the Mavericks and even maintained his starting position on Monday despite Kyrie Irving's return. Josh Green, Jaden Hardy, and Tim Hardaway Jr. are the main candidates to step up if Exum is forced to take some time off due to his injury.

Thu Dec 21 202320:25Dante Exum Ruled Out For Friday
Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum (leg) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Houston Rockets. This is a tough blow considering the Mavs are already without Kyrie Irving, Josh Green, and Luka Doncic for Friday's game. That means, Seth Curry (back) and Jaden Hardy should see heavy minutes in the rotation. If both are active, fantasy managers should look at both guards as potential streaming options with the Mavs extremely shorthanded right now.

Wed Dec 6 202320:33Dante Exum Makes First Start Of The Season
Dallas Mavericks guard Dante Exum will move into the starting five ahead of Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz. The Mavs are looking to fill the void with Grant Williams (knee) unable to play. Exum is averaging 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 13.8 minutes over his last 10 games. The Mavs are desperate with multiple players sidelined for this game. That means, Exum should get a decent look in the rotation, but isn't a must-have streaming option on an 11-game slate.

Fri Jul 14 202317:38Mavs Sign Dante Exum To Two-Year, Partially Guaranteed Deal
The Dallas Mavericks have made the Dante Exum deal official, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The former fifth overall pick in 2014 has signed a two-year deal worth $6.15 million. His second year is not guaranteed, and it's unclear if there are any incentives built in to the contract. Exum hasn't played in the NBA since the 2020-21 season, when he appeared in six games for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He's likely to play an end-of-the-bench role and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar at the moment.

Sun Jan 17 202116:37Rockets look to future after trading Harden to Brooklyn
HOUSTON (AP) — James Harden forced his way out of Houston without bringing the Rockets an NBA title. Now that he’s in Brooklyn, the Rockets hope the huge haul of draft picks they received in the trade will allow them to chase championships in the future. “Our goal remains unchanged,” general manager Rafael Stone said Sunday, addressing the trade for the first time. “I think we’re well-positioned to develop something really special.” Houston dealt Harden to the Nets last week, a day after he said the Rockets weren't “good enough,” in a four-team trade that also involved Cleveland and Indiana. The Rockets didn’t receive a franchise cornerstone in the deal but got many draft picks that should position them to build a talented roster. The Rockets received Brooklyn’s unprotected first-round picks in 2022, 2024 and 2026 and the right to swap first-round selections with the Nets in 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027. Houston also got Milwaukee’s 2022 first-round pick from Cleveland. Houston acquired three... [More]
Sat Mar 7 202014:30Hoops, hope: Cavaliers listen, learn during visit to prison
GRAFTON, Ohio (AP) — Andre Drummond and his teammates leaned in and listened intently as if they were in a huddle during a timeout in the frantic closing seconds of a playoff game. This time, the Cleveland Cavaliers didn't hear any strategy or talk of fouls or final shots. These messages were far more profound: tales of addiction, abuse, second chances and relapses, personal renewal.Sitting in a large circle along with his teammates, coaches and members of Cleveland's front office, Drummond remained riveted for an hour as prisoners at the Grafton Correctional Institution talked about how their lives were changed by bad decisions — and their determination to help themselves and others.Drummond was deeply moved.“A lot of these guys have been through so much, the trials and tribulations,” the center said afterward. “So to be here and to be open to sharing their stories of what they’ve been through and have it resonate with all of us, it touched each and every one of us.”On Friday, Drummond,... CLEVELAND (AP) — Minnesota built a big lead, wasted it and then had to build another one.“Sometimes," Timberwolves coach Ryan Saunders said, "you have to win a game twice.” Gorgui Dieng scored 22 points, Shabazz Napier had 21 and the Timberwolves blew a 25-point lead before regrouping for a 118-103 victory Sunday night over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who may have lost rookie Kevin Porter Jr. for an extended period with a knee injury. The Cavs, who rested star Kevin Love one night after he displayed frustration toward his teammates in a loss, trailed 90-65 with four minutes to go in the third quarter and seemed done. CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cavaliers traded Jordan Clarkson before he could walk away.Cleveland dealt the veteran backup guard to the Utah Jazz for guard Dante Exum and two future second-round draft picks on Tuesday. The teams agreed to terms of the deal shortly before their games in Cleveland and Miami tipped off on Monday, and the NBA approved it Tuesday.Clarkson was in the final year of his contract and was unlikely to re-sign with the Cavaliers as a free agent, so the club made a move to add a young player and future assets to help Cleveland rebuild. The Cavaliers will get San Antonio's second-round pick in 2022 and Golden State's in 2023. During the 2017-18 regular season, Derrick Rose didn't score 50 points in all of January.Or February.Or March.Or April. He was hurting, always in and out of the lineup, never in rhythm. Those problems, all his years of problems, seemed so long ago Wednesday night, when Rose was better than ever — finishing with a career-high 50 points that lifted the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Utah Jazz 128-125."I played my heart out," Rose said. "My teammates told me before the game, just play my game. And tonight was a hell of a night."That it was, by every possible measure.Rose became the fourth player already this season — it's barely two weeks old — to score at least 50 in a game, joining Blake Griffin, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. And if the 50 wasn't enough, Rose sealed the win by blocking Dante Exum's 3-pointer with about two seconds remaining.Moments later, Rose walked off the floor in tears. The game had made the 2011 NBA MVP cry before. Only this time, the emotion was all joy."I know the... [More]
