Collison will start Thursday's game against the Mavericks, The Oklahoman reports.
Because Kendrick Perkins was exchanged for Enes Kanter prior to Thursday's trade deadline, Collison and Mitch McGary are the only options for coach Scott Brooks to consider at the five. Collison has yet to start this season, but during his last two nods during the 2012-13 season, he averaged five points (on 63 percent shooting) and 1.5 rebounds in 19 minutes.

Collison signed a two-year extension worth close to $8 million with the Thunder on Tuesday, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
A glance at Collison's numbers show that he's been a relatively minor contributor this season, but he's considered one of the better locker room guys in the league and has been with the organization since being drafted by Seattle in 2004. The deal will keep the 34-year-old in Oklahoma City for two more seasons, after which it's reasonable to think he may consider retirement. Collison is averaging 3.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game this season.

Collison played nine minutes off the bench Tuesday, recording one point and four rebounds in the contest.
Collison's playing time has been up and down this month, as he has only had back-to-back double digit minute games just once. His role seems to be diminishing and he remains a very low-end fantasy option.

Collison recorded a line of eight points (3-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three rebounds, one steal, and one block on Tuesday. He turned the ball over twice in 22 minutes during the loss to the Jazz.
Collison attempted five 3-pointers on Tuesday, something he doesn't normally do. The veteran plays defense well, but continues to have no fantasy value, even on an injury depleted Thunder squad.

Collison scored three points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and secured three rebounds in 19 minutes of play against the New Jersey Nets on Monday.
Collison is a defensive role player that holds immense value to NBA teams with championship aspirations. Unfortunately, that doesn't translate to fantasy sports. The 10 year veteran is waiver wire fodder barring injuries to multiple front court players.

Collison (ankle) will make his preseason debut for the Thunder on Tuesday, the Oklahoman's Anthony Slater reports.
He will likely be the first big man off the bench, as Serge Ibaka and Steven Adams continue to start in the frontcourt. Consider Collison healthy moving forward.
Mon Oct 20 201414:25Collison (ankle) limited participant in Monday's practice
Collison (ankle) was a limited participant in Monday's practice, but he could make his preseason debut Tuesday, the Oklahoman's Anthony Slater reports.
It doesn't sound like Collison is in jeopardy of missing the start of the regular season, but even so, he won't approach 30 minutes per game, and can therefore be left alone in shallower leagues.

Collison (ankle) will not play in Sunday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, the Star Tribune reports.
Collison dealt with knee issues during the offseason and has now spent training camp nursing an ankle injury. His inability to get on the court is certainly concerning, although the aging veteran should only be owned in the very deepest of leagues that are alright with players who only get on the court for 10-15 minutes a game.

Sun Oct 5 201416:14Collison (ankle) will sit out Sunday's intrasquad scrimmage
Collison (ankle) will sit out Sunday's intrasquad scrimmage, Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman reports.
The veteran entered camp nursing a knee injury and is now dealing with an ankle sprain. The team is likely holding him out as a precaution, more than anything else. When the regular season begins, Collison will resume his role as a utility big man off the bench behind Steven Adams or Kendrick Perkins, who are competing for the starting center spot.
Thu Sep 25 201416:23Collison (knee) will be ready for training camp
Collison (knee) will be ready for training camp, Anthony Slater of The Oklahoman reports.
Collison underwent arthroscopic knee surgery back in June but has fully recovered and won't be limited as camp begins. The veteran will once again serve as a backup big man, likely seeing between 15-20 minutes per game.
Thu Jun 19 201413:16Nick Collison undergoes knee surgery
Nick Collison has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his knee, according to the Oklahoma City Thunder's official Twitter feed.
The team also tweeted that he is expected to miss 4-6 weeks and then return to normal offseason activities. The reported timetable shouldn't have any effect on Collison's availability for the 2014-15 season as he should be ready for the start of training camp barring any setbacks. While the 33-year-old is a solid fixture in the Thunder's rotation, his 2013-14 averages of 4.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists do a good job of illustrating his limited fantasy upside.

Mon May 19 201413:26Nick Collison likely to start in Game 1
Nick Collison is likely to start Game 1 vs. the Spurs, according to coach Scott Brooks.
The Thunder will have no adjustment period with Serge Ibaka (calf) out indefinitely. Ibaka has missed just three of OKC's last 373 games, so this will certainly be foreign territory for them. Kevin Durant could even see some time at center while Steven Adams may also get some extra run.

Fri Apr 4 201411:54Nick Collison needed four staples
Nick Collison needed four staples to the top of his head in the fourth quarter on Thursday.
He was bleeding everywhere and his cut was extremely large based on surface area. Collison cleared to return and he didn't appear concussed, so he should be fine for Friday Among players appearing in at last five games and logging 20 minutes per contest this season, Collison ranks first in plus-minus per game at 5.8. His impact is more in reality than in fantasy.

Wed Jan 8 201402:36Nick Collison plays 30 minutes off bench
Nick Collison played a season-high 30 minutes against the Jazz on Tuesday with nine points, six boards, three assists and one 3-pointer.
Serge Ibaka (illness) missed his first game of the season tonight and Collison was the main guy to pick up the slack. Ibaka is one of the most durable players in the NBA and has a good chance to return for Thursday's game, so there's not much incentive to picking up Collison.
