Sun Nov 12 202318:23Devin Booker, Eric Gordon Downgraded To Out On Sunday
Phoenix Suns guards Devin Booker (calf) and Eric Gordon (shoulder) were both officially downgraded to out on Sunday and will not suit up against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Booker was already considered doubtful, but Gordon was tagged as questionable, so it seemed he had a chance to play at first. While they're on the sidelines, Josh Okogie and Jordan Goodwin should see some more opportunities off of the bench. Grayson Allen will likely remain in the starting lineup as well, so all three of the mentioned names should be solid streaming options.

Sat Nov 11 202320:36Eric Gordon Could Miss Sunday's Game
Phoenix Suns guard Eric Gordon (shoulder) is currently listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The veteran guard is currently battling left shoulder soreness. The Suns are likely already going to be without Devin Booker (calf) who is doubtful for this game. The loss of Gordon would put the Suns in a bad spot. That means, Grayson Allen and Jordan Goodwin would be asked to play heavy minutes. Both players would make for interesting streaming options if Gordon and Booker both sit out.

Thu Sep 28 202306:00Fantasy Basketball Instant Reaction: Damian Lillard Trade
Well, it finally happened. For the first time in 11 years, Damian Lillard is no longer a Trailblazer. On Wednesday, the nearly three-month saga that held NBA news hostage all summer came to an abrupt halt after Lillard was astonishingly acquired by the Milwaukee Bucks. It was a blockbuster three-team deal that included the Phoenix Suns, nine total players, one first-round pick, and one pick swap. Here is the full breakdown of the trade and my analysis of how it will affect the NBA in 2023-2024 and fantasy basketball.

The Trade

The Bucks receive - Damian LillardThe Blazers receive - Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Bucks' 2029 first-round pick, Bucks' pick swapThe Suns receive - Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, Keon Johnson, ... [More]
Thu Jun 29 202309:32Clippers Waive Eric Gordon
The Los Angeles Clippers have waived Eric Gordon, making him an unrestricted free agent. The veteran sharpshooter was set to get paid $21 million for next season. The move saves the Clippers over $100 million on their projected tax bill. Gordon arrived in L.A. back in February from Houston and suited up in 22 games for the team, with 11 of them being starts. He averaged 11.0 points in 24.9 minutes with 42.3 percent shooting from behind the arc. However, the Clippers are saving a lot of money by letting him go, and the team is looking to give some of its younger players bigger opportunities. Terance Mann and Bones Hyland figure to get more playing time with Gordon gone.

Thu Apr 27 202321:46Clippers Want To Re-Sign Eric Gordon
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon might be back with the organization next season. The veteran guard currently has a non-guaranteed $20.9 salary for the 2023-2024 campaign. Recently, team president Lawrence Frank said they'd love to have both Mason Plumlee and Gordon back with the team next season. It's a bit surprising to see the Clippers willing to play Gordon that much for another season. He averaged 11 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 22 games with the Clippers in 2022-2023. To be fair, his stats were a bit better in Houston before he was traded to Los Angeles. When healthy, Gordon can be a useful option from beyond the arc. It remains to be seen if the Clippers are going to pay Gordon his $20 salary or if the two sides will negotiate a new deal.

Wed Apr 5 202322:03Eric Gordon To Play On Wednesday
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon (hip) will play during Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The veteran guard will return after exiting early on Friday and sitting out of Saturday's game. It appears the veteran guard is feeling good enough to play, which will send Norman Powell back to the bench. Gordon will have some streaming appeal because of his ability to shoot from beyond the arc.

Tue Apr 4 202322:10Eric Gordon Questionable Wednesday
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon (hip) is questionable to play Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers. Gordon missed last game with a hip injury which lead to Norman Powell getting the spot start. If Gordon is unable to go, expect Powell to continue to start. Powell recorded 12 points and five rebounds in 32 minutes last game.

Sat Apr 1 202319:08Eric Gordon Officially Out On Saturday
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran guard exited early on Friday due to hip tightness, so it appears that issue is still bothering him. It's the second night of a back-to-back set, so the Clippers will take the cautious approach here. Norman Powell should move into the starting five with Gordon on the sideline. Powell will have increased fantasy value with Gordon out.

Sat Apr 1 202316:55Eric Gordon Questionable On Saturday
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon (hip) is questionable for Saturday's meeting with the Pelicans. The 24-year-old exited Friday's matchup in Memphis because of hip tightness, so he is in danger of missing this one. If he doesn't play, Norman Powell, who scored a team-high 16 points versus the Grizzlies, could enter the starting lineup. If that happens, Powell should be on the DFS radar.

Thu Mar 23 202321:15Eric Gordon Gets Starting Nod On Thursday
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon will move into the starting five for Thursday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Clippers are looking to fill the void with Paul George (knee) sidelined for the next few weeks. Gordon should receive a boost in fantasy value with a shift to the starting five. Fellow guard Terance Mann should also see a boost in value with George on the sideline. Fantasy managers should check the waiver wire to see if either of these players are available.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Fri Feb 10 202309:25Navigating The Clippers Trade Deadline Moves - Fantasy Basketball Impact
The Los Angeles Clippers are in the heat of the congested Western Conference playoff race and were one of the more active franchises during Thursday's trade deadline. The Clippers had some glaring needs, specifically at the point guard position, and needed to surround their star forwards, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, with more talent to compete in the loaded Western Conference. The Clippers were able to execute three separate trades on Thursday. First off, the Clippers were able to secure Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for a couple of second-round picks. Then, they set their eyes on veteran guard Eric Gordon in a three-team trade, sending off John Wall to the Houston Rockets and Luke Kennard to the Memphis Grizzlies. Lastly, the Clippers moved ... Thu Feb 9 202322:15Eric Gordon Returning To The Clippers
The Rockets sent guard Eric Gordon to the Clippers on Thursday as part of a three-time trade involving Memphis. The 34-year-old has averaged a career-low 13.1 points in 47 games this season. However, he'll now return to the team that drafted him in 2008 for a fresh start. Although Gordon won't start regularly in Los Angeles, he should get more than enough minutes to remain a viable fantasy option moving ahead. Category managers in deeper setups will also welcome his career 36.9% three-point shooting.

Sat Feb 4 202307:05Eric Gordon Continues Good Scoring Run
Houston Rockets guard/forward Eric Gordon led the team with 28 points on 10-for-15 shooting in Friday's 117-111 loss to Toronto. He went 2-for-5 from downtown and 6-for-7 at the foul line while adding three rebounds and five assists to his line with one steal and one turnover in 34 minutes of playing time. The veteran scorer is now averaging 25.7 points per game across the last three matchups. Houston has lost multiple key guys to injuries and Gordon has stepped up to the plate to lead the way. He even helped the team get back-to-back wins for only the third time this season before things went wrong again Friday night. Unfortunately, it appears that Gordon's good run might be over. He will likely sit out when Houston completes a back-to-back on Saturday and Jalen Green (calf) is expected to return for the game.

Wed Dec 28 202220:18Eric Gordon Removed From Injury Report
Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon (groin) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Thursday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The veteran guard sat out of Tuesday's contest because it was the second game in a back-to-back set. The Rockets continue to take the cautious approach with Gordon in an attempt to keep him healthy. Kenyon Martin Jr. should head back to the bench and will see his fantasy value take a significant hit. He won't be as appealing of a streaming option with Gordon back in the mix.

Sat Dec 3 202219:22Eric Gordon To Sit Out On Saturday
Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors. It's no surprise to see the Rockets resting the veteran guard during the second night of a back-to-back set. Kenyon Martin Jr. and Tari Eason are the two players that will likely gain the most value with Gordon sidelined. Between the two, Martin has more upside, so he's the better streaming option. Garrison Mathews could see more minutes as well, but it's worth streaming on Saturday's slate.

Sat Oct 22 202215:15Eric Gordon Out Against Milwaukee
Houston Rockets guard/forward Eric Gordon (groin) will sit out Saturday's game against the Bucks for maintenance purposes. The veteran sniper logged 36 minutes in Friday's loss against Memphis and he's getting time off to nurse a right groin problem. The Rockets are also missing Jae'Sean Tate (ankle), so Tari Eason or Kenyon Martin Jr. could be looking at a starter's job on Saturday. It will be a great opportunity to impress for whoever gets the nod.

Mon Oct 3 202208:30NBA Draft: UDFAs Who Won't Waste Time
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent (UDFA) signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence.... Sat Aug 6 202223:49Rockets Not In A Rush To Trade Eric Gordon
Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon could remain with the team for the foreseeable future, with NBA insider Michael Scotto reporting that "there's no urgency to trade him." The veteran is coming off a down year, finishing with averages of 13.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 boards. However, after shooting 32.9% from deep in 2020-21, he ended last year by netting 41.2% of his attempts from downtown, the second-best mark of his career. Nonetheless, Gordon still has enough fantasy value to keep him relevant. While he may not be a consistent starter for the club this season, he should receive his fair share minutes. Yet, the 33-year-old will need to stay healthy, which has been an issue throughout his time in the league.

Thu Jul 21 202222:38Eric Gordon Projected To Be Starter
Houston Rockets guard/forward Eric Gordon is projected to be in the starting five heading into next season, according to Kelly Iko. The veteran forward has been rumored to be on the move this offseason. A trade does make sense considering the Rockets are in the middle of a rebuild. Although, it could be tough to move Gordon considering his long injury history. That being said, the Rockets might decide to keep Gordon and have him play alongside their young guards. His fantasy value is likely to increase next to Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green. Possibly, Gordon is someone worth snagging in the late rounds on draft day. There is still a long way to go before the season begins, so we'll see if Gordon is still on the roster in a month.
