G Patty Mills tied a career high with six 3-pointers and had 21 points and five assists in 23 minutes off the bench. He was one point shy of a season high for points (22 points, most recently on Feb. 1 vs. the Orlando Magic) and with Kawhi Leonard out of the lineup, the Spurs needed his extra punch offensively.

G Patty Mills hit three jumpers in the decisive surge that spanned the third and fourth quarters, part of his season-high-tying, 22-point output in the Spurs' win over Orlando. "Kyle (Anderson) and Patty (Mills) were great off the bench," coach Gregg Popovich said. "They gave us a lot of energy and got us through."

G Patty Mills hit two layups and a 3-pointer and handed out six assists during San Antonio's fourth-quarter explosion that proved to be the difference. "I think it just shows how much I've learned during my time in San Antonio," Mills said after finishing with modest totals -- nine points, eight assists, four steals -- that did not reflect the impact he had in the final quarter. "I've learned that you can't live or die on your shot."

Mills will join the Australian National Team after the Jazz's Dante Exum suffered a left ACL tear, Basketball Australia reports.
Mills was excused from the original roster because he skipped mandatory international games in order to rest his ailing shoulder. The Australian team will compete against the New Zealand team later this month for a chance at

Mills was left off the Australian roster competing in the upcoming FIBA Championships, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Mills skipped a few warmup matches at the behest of the Spurs, and Australian coach Andrej Lemanis believed it best to forge on with the group as currently constructed. Mills spent most of last season recovering from shoulder surgery and didn't fully regain his form until the postseason commenced. Additional time away from international basketball can help Mills return to the level he provided during the 2013-14 season.

Mills, who missed the first 31 games of the season rehabbing a surgically-repaired shoulder, averaged 6.9 points, 1.2 three-pointers, 1.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.5 steals in 16 minutes per game through 51 games in 2014-15.
Mills is under team control through the 2016-17 season. At 26-years-old, Mills finished his sixth NBA season gallantly, garnering his third-highest points average in a season (6.9). His shooting percentages did drop from last season though, going from (46% FG, 43% 3Pt, 89% FT) in 2013-14, to (38% FG, 34% 3Pt, 83% FT) in 2014-2015. Despite Mills' numbers dipping significantly this season, he should continue to be a trusted option off the bench behind Tony Parker next season, and there's a good chance Mills' efficiency numbers bounce back after a healthy offseason.

Mills scored 18 points (5-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT) in just 19 minutes off the bench Wednesday in the Spurs' Game 2 win over the Clippers. He also put up three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Tony Parker is questionable for Friday's Game 3 against the Clippers with a litany of injuries (Achilles/ankle/thigh), but he's still projected to be available to start. Mills played just 11 minutes in Game 1, but going forward, he may get closer to the 19 minutes he played in Game 2 Wednesday if Parker needs extra rest or continues to aggravate his injuries. Mills would be a great daily games play if he were to get a start in place of Parker, but that appears unlikely at this time.

Mills was very efficient in 10 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Trail Blazers, as he finished with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), one rebound and two assists.
Mills nearly got off a shot in every minute that he played, as he wasn't going to waste his time on the court. It was the first time he reached double figures in points since January 22, so don't expect these numbers to continue. Mills will likely provide minimal fantasy value, unless someone gets injured higher in the depth chart.

Mills scored 19 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) with two rebounds, three assists and one steal in the win against the Timberwolves on Saturday.
Mills continues to earn minutes off the bench while the Spurs bring Parker along slowly, playing 20 minutes or more in five of his first seven games since returning December 28th. He'll be needed to provide scoring punch off the bench with Manu Ginobili out of the lineup due to a back injury. He's worth a look in deeper formats.

Mills played just 15 minutes Saturday, scoring 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt) with two rebounds and one assist, racking up five fouls in the process.
It was Mills' lowest minute total and highest scoring output of the season and if it weren't for the fouls, he could've been in for a monstrous night. Before this game, Mills was getting more minutes than Cory Joseph, but we'll have to give it another game to see if that's the way coach Gregg Popovich runs his rotation, although with Tony Parker (hamstring) rumored to be back Tuesday, an additional wrinkle will enter our consideration. For now, Mills is a deep league player only.

Mills (shoulder) made his season debut Sunday, putting up eight points (3-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one block in 20 minutes off the bench.
With Tony Parker sidelined indefinitely with a hamstring injury, the Spurs allowed Mills to return to action. He's been out all season recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. Moving forward, Mills should have modest value in deep leagues, providing points, assists and three-pointers.
Sun Dec 28 201417:31Updating previous report
Updating a previous report, Mills (shoulder) is expected to play Sunday against the Rockets, Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Mills had been ruled out on a previously released team injury report, but it sounds like head coach Greg Popovich and the Spurs have changed their mind. With Tony Parker nursing a hamstring injury, the ball-handling depth is much needed for the Spurs, though it's unclear how many minutes Mills will see out of the gate.

Mills (right shoulder) will not play Sunday against the Rockets.
Mills has been cleared to return, but he is continuing to ramp up his activity in practice before the Spurs will put him back on the court in a game. With Mills and Tony Parker both out Sunday, Cory Joseph is the lone healthy point guard.

Mills (shoulder) will remain out of action Friday when the Spurs take on New Orleans.
While Mills has been cleared to return, the Spurs have openly stated that they'll bring him along slowly, and it's likely he'll sit out a few more games until he builds up enough strength and stamina to return to game action. With Tony Parker (hamstring) ruled out Friday, Cory Joseph will reclaim the starting point guard job.
