LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. Sun Jan 29 202302:32Karl-Anthony Towns Remains Without A Return Date
Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) remains out indefinitely, according to head coach Chris Finch. KAT continues to battle a right calf strain, an injury that has caused him to miss over two months. Fantasy managers are certainly hoping he'll be back sooner rather than later. However, even if Towns returns soon, he'll likely need some time to get back into playing shape. Nevertheless, Kyle Anderson, who has averaged 10.3 points, 5.0 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 25 starts this season, should remain in the starting lineup.

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. LaMelo Ball Injury Update

LaMelo Ball exited Monday's meeting with the Rockets with a sprained left ankle. This is an all too familiar ailment, as the 21-year-old injured it twice already this season. Donovan Mitchell Injury Update

Donovan Mitchell has been on a tear in his first season as a Cavalier, averaging a career-high 28.8 points per game. Derrick White Injury Update

Jaylen Brown, the No. 2 offensive option for the Celtics, is possibly out for a couple of weeks because of an adductor injury. Obviously, this isn't ideal for Boston, a team that struggled throughout December while losing the first two contests of 2023.Although the C's have plenty of depth in the backcourt, Boston could be without Derrick White after the veteran suffered a neck strain in Saturday's win over the Hornets.https://twitter.com/celtics/status/1614425152200257542?s=20&t=SawJ1rLRAHqFYZAcIiNRJwThe former Spur will likely undergo further testing to determine the severity of the ailment. Tue Nov 29 202208:38Karl-Anthony Towns Suffers A Calf Strain
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a right calf strain in Monday's loss to Washington. He left in the third quarter after posting eight points in 22 minutes with two rebounds and four assists. Towns will undergo further tests Tuesday, but there is optimism that he avoided a serious injury. However, he is still looking at some time on the sidelines, with muscle strains typically taking a few weeks to heal. Fantasy managers should key in on Kyle Anderson whilst Toews is absent. He logged extended minutes Monday and looks set to join the starting five. Anderson is a guy who does a bit of everything for his team, so he should be a useful piece in all fantasy formats.

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns logged a big double-double on the way to a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The veteran big man posted a season-high in points and tied a season-high in rebounds. He finished with 29 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block while shooting 11-for-16 overall and 3-for-6 from deep. His fantasy output hasn't been the same since Rudy Gobert arrived, but the growing pains were expected for a while.

Sun Nov 6 202215:41Karl-Anthony Towns Compiles A Full Line Versus Rockets
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns enjoyed a really good all-around game against Houston on Saturday, leading his team to a 129-117 victory with 25 points, nine rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks. He shot a nice 9-for-14 from the field with a 3-for-6 effort from three-point land in 30 minutes of action. Towns clearly enjoyed being the lone tower again for Minnesota, with Rudy Gobert (health and safety protocols) having dropped out of the lineup prior to Saturday's action. It might be Towns' solo show on the Minnesota frontcourt for a bit now, as the T-Wolves get a nice four-game slate next week and it's not known when Gobert can make it back. Kyle Anderson started in his place Saturday night and had a solid showing, while Taurean Prince also benefited from Gobert's absence.

Wed Nov 2 202209:14Karl-Anthony Towns Logs Double-Double In Loss
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns registered a double-double in the team's 107-116 loss to the Phoenix Suns. He ended up with 24 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and one block on 9-for-18 shooting overall and 3-for-7 shooting from deep. The 26-year-old has now had a few games in a row with double-digit rebounds which is great to see from a fantasy perspective. His rebounding and defensive stats have taken a dip since Rudy Gobert joined the team. Managers will have to see if these two can coincide on the boards and on defense.

Wed Oct 12 202220:51Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert Sitting Versus Lakers
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert will both rest during Wednesday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers. It's not shocking that the Wolves will rest their two big men in this meaningless game. The team will also hold out Jaden McDaniels, Taurean Prince, PJ Dozier and Eric Paschall during Wednesday's contest. Towns is coming off a serious illness, but looked solid over the weekend. It appears to be safe to draft him with this illness behind him now.

Mon Oct 10 202213:25Karl-Anthony Towns Gets Back Into Action
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns (illness) made his preseason debut against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. He has been slowly ramping up his activities after missing time due to a serious illness. Towns looked solid here as he connected on 5-of-11 shots from the field. He finished with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists in 26 minutes of action. We haven't seen Towns play alongside Rudy Gobert yet, but he shouldn't impact his fantasy value too much.

Mon Oct 3 202218:45Karl-Anthony Towns Dealing With Significant Illness
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns was recently released after he was required to stay in the hospital due to an illness. The 26-year-old wasn't cleared to walk until Saturday. Towns didn't give many details on the situation, but appears to be doing better now. The expectation is that Towns will be ready for opening night. The organization will likely bring him along slowly during training camp and the preseason.

Fri Aug 5 202213:03D'Angelo Russell Embraces Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns Duo
The Minnesota Timberwolves made a sizable splash this offseason when acquiring four-time All-NBA performer Rudy Gobert in a blockbuster deal with the Jazz, giving the team a formidable frontcourt alongside Karl-Anthony Towns. Point guard D'Angelo Russell sees the duo fitting well together, citing past experiences where both acclimated their play. After winning 46 games and making the postseason last year, Minnesota is seeking to go further in 2022-23, bolstered by its revamped group of talent. "It's exciting -- it's like the first day of school," Russell said in an interview with Dane Moore, who covers T-Wolves hoops.

Mon Jul 25 202214:51Karl-Anthony Towns Wants To Retire With Timberwolves
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns recently mentioned that he wants to retire with the organization. The 26-year-old still has plenty of years left, but recently said he wants to stay with Minnesota. Earlier this offseason, Towns signed a four-year super max deal to keep him under contract through the 2027-2028. The All-Star center is expected to remain a top tier fantasy contributor despite the addition of Rudy Gobert. The hope is that the move to get Gobert will help the Wolves make a deep run in the playoffs. Regardless, it sounds like Towns is here to stay and should be a top-10 fantasy option.

Fri Jul 1 202215:38Karl-Anthony Towns Signs Super-Max Deal
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns has agreed to a four-year, $224 million super-max extension. There is no surprise here, as Towns is a cornerstone piece on this roster. He'll continue to grow alongside Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell. Those three could be a legitimate threat in the league soon. That being said, Towns is basically guaranteed to have first-round fantasy value, assuming he can stay healthy. The Timberwolves could still make some more moves and turn into legitimate contenders next season.

Fri Apr 22 202211:21Karl-Anthony Towns Logs Career-Low Four Shot Attempts
Never before in Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns' professional career had he attempted four shots from the field or fewer -- until Thursday, that is. Towns' ability to be involved in the offense was thoroughly flummoxed by Memphis, who got the big man into foul trouble and forced him to make four turnovers. Across his 33 minutes, Towns finished with eight points, five rebounds, and a season-high five blocks, marking the first time he swatted five shots since Dec. 31, 2018. D'Angelo Russell keyed the offense with 21 shot attempts, but the Grizzlies' new-look approach in the frontcourt of Brandon Clarke and Xavier Tillman Sr. -- instead of Steven Adams -- has proven to deliver consternation. With just 11 combined shot attempts in his past two games, Towns is something of a shaky DFS option ahead of Game 4 on Saturday.

Wed Apr 13 202210:41Karl-Anthony Towns Kept In Check During Tuesday’s Victory
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns helped get the win in Tuesday's Play-In Tournament over the Clippers, but he was held to just 11 points in the process. LA got Towns in foul trouble early and he was limited to just 24 minutes, but even when he was on the floor, he shot just 3-for-11 overall and committed four turnovers. The Clips had similar success in stymying Towns during the regular season, when he scored a season-low eight points on Nov. 13. Anthony Edwards (30 points) and D'Angelo Russell (29) carried the scoring load without Towns' usual production, as Naz Reid (eight) was also solid off the bench. Fortunately for Towns, the next time he suits up will be Saturday vs. Memphis, whom he averaged 23.3 points and 9.3 boards against during four regular-season outings.
