Johnson suffered a mild ankle sprain Wednesday at Milwaukee and is questionable to return, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Johnson is having his ankle iced and taped, but the treatment may not be enough to make another appearance in the contest. If not, he'll finish with five points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, and one assist in nine minutes.
Sat Jan 24 201510:58Johnson moved to bench for Friday's game against Spurs
Johnson was moved to the bench for Friday's game against the Spurs. During 26 minutes of action, he recorded six points (2-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.
Johnson managed to contribute in all categories despite receiving the demotion to the bench Friday. Coach Byron Scott seems to be in experimental mode with his lineups at this point in the season so Johnson is not necessarily in the doghouse, but he's still a limited option that is best utilized in deeper leagues.
Fri Jan 23 201519:18Johnson will come off bench Friday against Spurs
Johnson will come off the bench Friday against the Spurs.
Ryan Kelly will get the start in a big Lakers frontcourt Friday, but Johnson should still see significant run off the bench. However, it this turns out to be a permanent thing, Johnson's value could take a bit of a dip.

Johnson returned to action Sunday after sitting out the last three games with a hip injury. He put up a team-high 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes.
Johnson received a few extra shots with Kobe Bryant chillin' out on the sideline again, maxin' all cool. With or without Bryant over the last two seasons, Johnson has been essentially the same consistently underwhleming but sneakily useful player. Through 34 games played this season, he's averaging 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 1.4 three-pointers in 29 minutes per game.
Sun Jan 11 201514:44Wesley Johnson: (Hip) Will Play and Start Sunday
Johnson (hip) will play and start against Portland on Sunday.
Coach Byron Scott openly acknowledged that Johnson would start upon his return to health, and this news is further confirmation of that expectancy. Johnson will be knocking Wayne Ellington out of the starting five in the long term, although Kobe Bryant's propensity to rest may leave Ellington in the starting lineup at times, despite Johnson's return.

Johnson (hip), who won't play Friday, is expected to practice Saturday in preparation to play Sunday against Portland, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com reports.
Johnson's hip flexor has improved of late, and while he won't play Friday, his return to the lineup seems imminent. Coach Byron Scott already acknowledged that Johnson would retain his spot at starting small forward upon his return to health, so the only question left is when that will actually happen. Saturday's practice will be indicative of the 27-year-old's status moving forward.
Fri Jan 9 201514:36Johnson (hip) will not play against Magic on Friday
Johnson (hip) will not play against the Magic on Friday, although he's expected to regain his spot in the starting lineup upon his eventual return to the court, the OC Register reports.
This will be the third straight game that Johnson stays on the sidelines with continued complications to his strained right hip flexor. However, coach Byron Scott was adamant that Johnson would recapture his starting small forward role with the team when he returns to health. His next opportunity to play will come against Portland on Sunday.

Johnson (hip) is considered questionable to play Friday against the Magic.
Johnson has missed the last two games due to a strained right hip flexor. The Lakers stated that Johnson will be reevaluated during Friday's morning shootaround, at which point it should become more clear whether or not he'll be in the lineup. Johnson averaged 11.0 points and 4.1 rebounds in 27.1 minutes per game in December and will likely continue producer similar numbers going forward.
Mon Jan 5 201522:16Johnson could return to Lakers by end of week
Johnson could return to the Lakers by the end of the week, ESPN.com reports.
After suffering a right hip flexor strain Sunday, Johnson was initially handed a recovery timetable of several weeks. However, coach Byron Scott stated otherwise Monday, thereby throwing a wrench in the picture. Potential return dates include Friday (against the Magic) and Sunday (versus the Blazers), but in any case, owners will seemingly be without the wing for only a week, at the most.
Mon Jan 5 201512:54Johnson (hip) expected to miss several weeks
Johnson (hip) is expected to miss several weeks, the Los Angeles Times' Mike Bresnahan reports.
His recovery from a strained hip flexor, which he suffered Sunday, will be measured in weeks, not days, and he will likely be out until late-January. In the meantime, Nick Young will see an even larger role, especially Monday with Kobe Bryant sitting out the second game of a back-to-back. Wayne Ellington will also be asked to take on a larger role in the Lakers' offense while Johnson is out.
Sun Jan 4 201523:07Wesley Johnson: (Hip) Out Monday, Along With Bryant
Johnson suffered a straight right hip flexor during Sunday's game against the Pacers, and he will not travel to Portland for Monday's matchup with the Trail Blazers, Janis Carr of the Orange County Register reports.
Johnson, who has started every game this season, did not come out of the locker room after halftime. With Kobe Bryant scheduled to miss Monday's game for maintenance, the Lakers will likely require major minutes from both Wayne Ellington and Nick Young, with point guards Jeremy Lin and Ronnie Price also candidates to see added playing time.

Johnson scored 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), to go along with four rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and a steal in 28 minutes on Sunday.
Johnson has been posting solid averages through his last five games, with 13 points, two three-pointers, 1.2 steals, and 0.8 blocks during that span. Coach Scott seems to favor Johnson in the starting lineup, while bringing in Nick Young to go against opposing benches. Johnson's contributions across the board make him a good addition for those in need of a small forward.

Johnson (ankle) posted seven points, four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 21 minutes of action Sunday against the Kings.
Johnson has maintained his starting job throughout the season, but his production hasn't been impressive. He's averaging just 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 1.2 three-pointers made for the season and is only an option in deep leagues.

Johnson (ankle) wasn't able to practice Friday but is still expected to play against the Kings on Sunday.
Johnson is dealing with a minor ankle injury that doesn't appear to be serious. It might be worth monitoring over the next few games, although his ankle issues can likely just be chalked up to the normal wear and tear of the season.

Johnson had 12 points (3-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT) with two rebounds, six assists, one steal, and three blocks in 29 minutes Sunday.
The six assists were a season-high, and even though his minutes have dropped since Nick Young returned to the team, Johnson's production has increased. Johnson is averaging 11.7 points, 2.3 three-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks in his past three games and should be monitored in standard leagues, if not added.

Johnson (illness) put up 13 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals in 28 minutes against the Spurs on Friday.
Johnson had been dealing with a stomach virus but seems to be in the clear moving forward after Friday's successful stint on the court. However, he's on the fringe of standard league viability despite averaging 31 minutes on the court per game.
Wed Dec 10 201415:40Johnson (illness) did not practice Wednesday
Johnson (illness) did not practice Wednesday, Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Johnson is dealing with a stomach virus and was not present at Wednesday's session. Until his status is updated Thursday, consider Johnson questionable to play Friday against the Spurs.

Johnson had his best game of the season in a loss to the Timberwolves, scoring 19 points (7-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and picking up two assists, four rebounds and a steal.
Johnson led all the Lakers in minutes Friday, playing in 38. Don't let the one good performance fool you, though. He's still only averaging 7.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, and is shooting less than 40 percent from the floor.

Johnson scored just five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt) with five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 29 minutes in the loss to the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Johnson has started every game for the Lakers this season, even with Nick Young back in the rotation, but has not provided fantasy owners with the sort of production he got last season, despite playing an additional four minutes per game. The former lottery pick is averaging less points, three-pointers, rebounds, steals and blocks compared with last season and is shooting four percent worse from the field. If you own him in 12 team leagues, you can probably consider moving on.

Johnson's slow start to the 2014-15 season continues Tuesday against the Suns, recording just four points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 34 minutes.
The minutes have been there for Johnson, but he hasn't been able to capitalise on the opportunity with Nick Young (thumb) out and Xavier Henry (knee) limited. Through five games, Johnson has averaged 8.0 points, 0.8 three-pointers, 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks on 40 percent shooting from the field and 100 percent shooting from the line. While the playing time is nice, the production doesn't warrant Johnson being owned in standard fantasy leagues unless you're banking on an improvement over the next few weeks before Young returns.
