Brown (hip) is hoping to participate in full-contact practice Saturday, which will put him in a good spot to make a return to the court Sunday against the Bulls, the New York Post reports.
Brown managed to participate in non-contact drills Friday but still needs to successfully make it through Saturday's practice before Sunday's game is a real possibility. If he ends up playing Sunday, it will likely be in limited fashion as he's only played for three minutes this season.

Brown returned to game action Tuesday after suffering a non-displaced fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his right hand back in early August. During the Summer League, he was playing very well as an efficient scorer, rebounder and assist man. His one problem seemed to be in the turnover category. On Tuesday, he didn't show us much as he scored zero points and had zero turnovers. While Brown has the potential to contribute in some categories, he still needs to prove himself before the regular season in order to truly determine his fantasy value.
Tue Sep 30 201418:03Brown (hand) cleared to practice
Brown (hand) has been cleared to practice, Nets Daily reports.
Brown suffered a non-displaced fracture of his hand in August, but he is healthy and ready to start practicing. The original expected timetable of return was four-to-six weeks, so it's not surprising he's been cleared to practice. He'll start camp trying to earn a spot in the rotation at the shooting guard position, but he'll need to have an improved three-point shot, and stellar defense in order to get some time on the court. We'll wait and see how he looks in camp in order to determine what kind of role he could end up having.

He compared himself to Russell Westbrook because of his backup role in college, but the 44th pick in the draft has a long way to go. Brown was productive in Orlando this month with 10.0 points per game on 52.9 percent from the field to go with 3.2 dimes, but he'll likely be starting his career off in the D-League.

Sat Jun 28 201409:46Brown setting the bar awfully high at BK
Markel Brown said on Friday that he's a "Russell Westbrook-type player."
He compared himself to Westbrook because Brown was behind Marcus Smart while Westy had to play behind Darren Collison at UCLA. The same can be said for a guy like Eric Bledsoe who played behind John Wall, so Brown certainly wouldn't be the first second-string NCAA point guard to shine in the NBA. That said, he is setting the bar a little too high for himself here. The Oklahoma State product is expected to play in summer league and does have athleticism at 6'3".
