Hairston sprained his ankle during Friday's practice but it's not believed to be serious, the Charlotte Observer reports.
The Hornets' next game comes against the Nuggets on Saturday and Hairston will likely be considered a game-time decision for that contest. Even if Hairston is unable to play Saturday, he's only averaging 14.8 minutes per game and his playing time will likely be dispersed among numerous players to fill the void.

Hairston (illness) provided 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 23 minutes during Saturday's win at the Knicks.
After a one-game absence due to an illness, Hairston led the reserve unit in scoring, which also matched a season high. However, the blowout nature of the contest allowed the bench to chip in more than usual, meaning he'll likely return to his 14 minutes per outing from his past 12 appearances.

Hairston (illness) will play Saturday against the Knicks.
The illness knocked Hairston out of Thursday's game versus Toronto, but it appears his symptoms subsided enough Saturday morning for him to be available off the bench. Though he's usually been a part of the Hornets' rotation as a rookie, Hairston has seen his minutes wane since the calendar turned to January. Until he sees more consistent run in the 20-to-25-minute range, it will be tough to extract much fantasy value from Hairston.

Hairston (illness) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Knicks, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston missed Thursday's game against Toronto with an illness and is in danger of being sidelined yet again Saturday. Charlotte will likely see how he feels leading up to tipoff before they make a decision one way or another.
Thu Jan 8 201515:38Hairston (illness) ruled out for Thursday's game in Toronto
Hairston (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game in Toronto.
Hairston did not make the trip north with the team but there's a chance he could join them in New York for Saturday's contest. Over his last four games, Hairston is averaging 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.8 minutes.

Hairston, like most of his teammates, struggled in a loss to the Thunder on Friday, scoring just five points (2-9 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and grabbing three rebounds while picking up one assist and one steal.
Hairston led the Hornets in bench minutes but was extremely disappointing, as he as been all month. In December, Hairston is shooting just 27.1 percent from the floor and 22.6 percent from three, and has even seen a recent spike in minutes with Lance Stephenson (pelvis) out. Hairston's role fluctuates too much to be ownable in most leagues, and his efficiency has been so poor he's not a desirable pickup.

Hairston posted a double-double in 21 minutes Monday against the Nuggets as he scored 10 points (4-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt) to go along with 10 rebounds, one steal and three blocks.
The Hornets were up big in this game, so Hairston and the rest of the bench saw extended run. While he put up a solid performance Monday, don't expect this on a consistent basis.

Hairston will not play Wednesday against the Celtics due to an unexcused absence from practice, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Character concerns surrounded Hairston in college and the draft, and it looks like those have surfaced again. The Hornets' game is Friday against the Grizzlies.

Hairston scored a career-high 15 points (5-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes off the bench in Saturday's blowout loss to the Hawks.
Hairston was apparently given the green light to chuck up as many shots as he wanted in the blowout. He was averaging 5.4 points per game coming into Saturday's game and is getting more run early in the season than the Hornets likely planned, as the team has had to spitball their rotations due to several of their wing players suffering injuries. When healthy, the Hornets likely won't use Hairston much this season.

Hairston (thumb) came off the bench Friday against the Warriors after sustaining a sprained thumb Wednesday, scoring eight points (3-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt) in 19 minutes.
Prior to his injury Wednesday, Hairston was dealing with an ankle injury that forced him to miss four games. He continue's to be too-trigger happy, though. Hairston is shooting just 35.7 percent on the season on 4.7 shots per game, and has yet to make more than three baskets in a single game.
Fri Nov 28 201413:29Hairston (thumb) expected to play against Warriors on Friday
Hairston (thumb) is expected to play against the Warriors on Friday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston suffered a minor thumb injury in Wednesday's game against the Blazers but doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing time off the court. He's averaging 14.7 minutes on the court this season and will likely play around that number Friday as well.

Hairston suffered a sprained thumb in Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, The Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston returned from an ankle injury Wednesday, but he is now dealing with a new setback. It remains to be seen if the thumb injury will cost him further action, but he was seen wearing a brace on his hand following the game.
Wed Nov 26 201411:40P.J. Hairston: (Ankle) Will Play Wednesday
Hairston (ankle) will play Wednesday against the Trail Blazers, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston will return to the floor Wednesday after missing four games with a sprained ankle. He could see extra minutes off the bench as well with Gary Neal (shoulder) declared out for the contest.

Hairston (ankle) is considered probable for Wednesday's game against the Blazers, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston missed the last four games with a sprained ankle but appears on track to return Wednesday. With Gary Neal (shoulder) listed as doubtful, Hairston could be in line for increased minutes off the bench.
Mon Nov 24 201417:45Hairston (ankle) ruled out for Monday's matchup with Clippers
Hairston (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup with the Clippers, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston was earlier declared questionable, but it sounds as though he was never all that close to playing Monday. He'll miss his fourth consecutive contest, which should allow Gary Neal to absorb most of the shooting guard minutes off the bench behind starter Gerald Henderson.

Hairston (ankle) is considered questionable to play Monday against the Clippers, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Word surfaced Sunday afternoon that Hairston had been ruled out for Monday's game, but his condition has apparently improved, and there's an outside chance he'll be able to contribute against the Clippers. Even if Hairston is cleared to play, though, he's a risky fantasy commodity given the injury and his relatively light workload. The rookie is yet to play more than 18 minutes in his eight contests this season.
Sun Nov 23 201416:52Hairston (ankle) will miss at least Hornets' next two games
Hairston (ankle) will miss at least the Hornets' next two games, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Hairston, who is nursing a sprained right ankle, will sit out Sunday against Miami, as well as Monday against the Clippers. The earliest he could return is Wednesday against Portland, but even that could be optimistic. The rookie saw double-digit minutes in eight straight games before the injury.
Fri Nov 21 201417:27Hairston (ankle) will not play Friday against Magic
Hairston (ankle) will not play Friday against the Magic.
Hairston, along with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) will both sit out of Friday's game, while Gerald Henderson will return to the court. This will be the second game in a row missed by Hairston, after suffering the ankle injury in Monday's matchup against the Mavericks. Consider him day-to-day and questionable for Sunday's game against the Miami Heat.
Wed Nov 19 201412:25Hairston (ankle) will not play Wednesday
Hairston (ankle) will not play Wednesday, Hornets announcer Steve Martin reports.
He left Monday's game with a sprained ankle and was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot. Consider him day-to-day, at best. Gerald Henderson represents a solid option in daily leagues, as Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) and Gary Neal (concussion) have also been ruled out.
Tue Nov 18 201413:21Hairston (ankle) doubtful to play Wednesday against Pacers
Hairston (ankle) is doubtful to play Wednesday against the Pacers.
A sprained ankle forced Hairston out of Monday's loss to the Mavericks, and he left the arena in a walking boot. The fact that he's considered "doubtful," as opposed to "out," is somewhat encouraging, though it wouldn't be a surprise if he misses multiple games. The Hornets are already depleted with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) and Gary Neal (concussion) both ruled out Wednesday, so Gerald Henderson figures to see major minutes.
