Wed Apr 26 202320:46Julius Randle Re-Injures Ankle
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) exited Wednesday's postseason meeting versus the Cavaliers. He is doubtful to return. The All-Star sprained his left ankle during a late-March matchup against the Miami Heat, keeping him out for five games. However, he returned at the beginning of the playoffs, although it's obvious based on his play he's still limited. If Randle doesn't return, which is likely the case, he'll finish with 13 points, six boards, and four assists in 16 minutes. Obi Toppin started the second half and could see a rise in DFS interest if Randle misses time moving ahead.

Mon Apr 24 202308:52Julius Randle Still Bothered By Ankle Injury
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle sat out the whole fourth quarter in Sunday's meeting with Cleveland and is still playing through a left ankle injury he suffered near the end of the regular season. Randle appeared to have made a quicker-than-expected recovery from the injury when he was in the lineup for Game 1 after sitting out just five contests, but his performances have been subpar and now we know why. Randle settled for only seven points in 27 minutes Sunday, shooting 3-for-10 from the field. He is averaging 14.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in the series with 32.2 percent shooting and has made only eight of his 31 three-point attempts. The Knicks will be hoping that some extra rest will do good for Randle, with the next game in the series scheduled for Wednesday.

Sat Apr 22 202310:33Julius Randle Continues To Struggle In Game 3 Against Cleveland
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle had another horrible shooting night in Game 3 against the Cavaliers on Friday, hitting only 3-for-15 from the field for an 11-point effort in a blowout win. A big number of Randle's misses came from downtown as he finished 2-for-10 with the three-ball. Randle's overall work in the game included eight rebounds, three assists and one steal. The two-time All-Star is now shooting 30.9 percent for his playoff career, which must be very worrying for the team. Randle has been the Knicks' top regular-season scorer for three consecutive seasons and they won't stay in contention for long in the playoffs if he can't put up his usual numbers.

Sat Apr 15 202317:45Julius Randle Will Suit Up For Game 1
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) will play during Saturday's Game 1 contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is the first time that Randle has suited up for a game since March 29. The team won't have Randle on a minutes limit, but they will monitor his conditioning. The expectation is that Randle is still going to play significant minutes considering it's a playoff contest. He should jump right back into his primary role in the starting five.

Fri Apr 14 202307:43Julius Randle Still Not Cleared For Contact
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) was a limited participant in practice again on Thursday as he's still not officially cleared for contact. The team didn't allow media to view any parts of practice which violates league access rules and further clouds Randle's status. Head coach Tom Thibodeau said that Randle was running at full speed but wouldn't give a recovery timeline to reporters. His injury status will need to be monitored leading up to their first game on Saturday against Cleveland.

Tue Apr 11 202316:37Julius Randle A Limited Participant In Practice On Tuesday
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) participated in a part of practice on Tuesday but he didn't go through any contact drills. Head coach Tom Thibodeau said that he did "some running, shooting, scripting, that sort of thing." The progress is nice to see ahead of their first-round matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. If Randle can't suit up when Saturday rolls around, Obi Toppin would likely see a big increase in value for DFS lineups.

Thu Mar 30 202318:29Julius Randle To Miss Two Weeks
New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (ankle) is expected to miss some time after suffering an injury during Wednesday's game. The team announced that Randle will be re-evaluated in two weeks after suffering a sprained left ankle. That means, Randle will miss the rest of the regular season, but should be back in time for the first round of the playoffs. In the meantime, Obi Toppin should move into the starting five with Randle unavailable. Toppin could be an interesting streaming option, assuming he gets consistent minutes in the rotation.

Tue Mar 21 202309:31Julius Randle Racks Up Career-High 57 Points Monday
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle was on fire against the Timberwolves on Monday, but his career-high 57 points didn't save the team from another home loss. Minnesota simply didn't have an answer for him and Randle already had 26 points by halftime. He quickly added 26 more points to his tally after the break, setting a new team record for the most points in a quarter. Randle finished with 19-for-29 shooting from the field and hit 8-for-14 from deep, becoming the first Knicks player to reach the 50-point plateau since Carmelo Anthony had a franchise-record 62 points in 2014.

Mon Mar 13 202309:47Julius Randle Gets Back On Track Sunday
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle scored a team-high 33 points in Sunday's 112-108 win over the Lakers, hitting 11-for-24 from the field and 3-for-12 from three-point range. It was still far from a super-efficient performance, but Randle had shot just 28.6 percent from the field across his previous three outings and this should be viewed as a good bounce-back performance. Randle completed his line with eight rebounds, five assists and one steal, committing three turnovers across 36 minutes of action. The Knicks star will now hope to maintain his momentum in a favorable matchup on Tuesday against the Trail Blazers and their inefficient defense.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]

Mon Jan 16 202307:51Julius Randle Crushes The Pistons
New York Knicks power forward Julius Randle extended his double-double streak to 10 games with a big 42-point, 15-rebound effort in Sunday's 117-104 win over Detroit. He became the first Knicks player with a 40-15 game since Patrick Ewing in 1996. The Pistons were in trouble right from the off when Randle finished the first Knicks attack with a triple, and he ended up shooting 15-for-24 overall for the game with a 4-for-7 performance from downtown. Randle played for 40 minutes and also had four assists and one block. The 2021 All-Star is third in the league in double-doubles and all of his last four have come with at least 15 rebounds. He's simply crushing it right now, and another big Randle performance seems imminent Monday against the Raptors, who have given up 31.0 points and 12.5 rebounds to the former Kentucky man this season.

The star power forward registered 25 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and four blocks. His shooting wasn't the best as he finished shooting 34.6% on 26 attempts and only hit one of his eight three-point attempts. In the end, it was enough for a win and he provided a big boost to any fantasy team's defensive stats.

New York Knicks forward Julius Randle bagged his first 40-point game of the season, but it came during a 115-122 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. On a night where the Knicks didn't have both RJ Barrett and Jalen Brunson, Randle had to produce most of the offense as he delivered with 41 points on 14-for-27 shooting and 6-for-13 from deep. The Kentucky product also chipped in 11 rebounds, seven assists, and one steal. While Barrett and Brunson remain sidelined, Randle's usage is going to be through the roof.

New York Knicks forward Julius Randle had a double-double in Wednesday's win over Atlanta. The Hawks struggled offensively in this one. On the other hand, the Knicks thrived, with Randle being the top contributor. He finished with 34 points, shooting 10-for-19 from the field and 6-for-12 from deep, while adding 17 rebounds, five assists, and a steal.
