Sun Feb 27 202201:37Justise Winslow Dealing With Achilles Soreness
Portland Trail Blazers forward Justise Winslow (Achilles) is questionable leading up to Sunday's matchup against Denver. The 25-year-old is currently dealing with soreness in his right Achilles. Winslow has played well in his seven games for the Blazers, averaging 12.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 steals. With the team dealing with some significant injuries across the board, another absence wouldn't be ideal. However, it would open the door for Josh Hart and Anfernee Simons to benefit the most on the offensive end. Trenton Watford, who had nine points throughout 23 minutes of action against the Warriors on Thursday, may also be in the running as a value option in DFS contests.

Tue Feb 8 202221:39Justise Winslow Moves Into Starting Five
Portland Trail Blazers forward Justise Winslow will move into the starting five for Tuesday's game against the Orlando Magic. The Blazers are extremely shorthanded due to recent trades. Anfernee Simons, Ben McLemore, C.J. Elleby and Jusuf Nurkic will join Winslow in the starting five for this game. Normally, Winslow isn't much of a fantasy option, but could be asked to do more since the Blazers only have nine active players on Tuesday. He could be a possible streaming option here, but shouldn't have long term fantasy value in Portland.

Fri Feb 4 202214:46Portland Acquires Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow
Veteran guard Eric Bledsoe and former lottery selection Justise Winslow highlight the return package that the Portland Trail Blazers have acquired in the deal that sends Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the Clippers. Bledsoe had seen his role diminish in his first season back with LA, averaging just 9.9 points across 25.2 minutes on a nightly basis, marks set to be his lowest since his most recent year with the Clippers in 2012-13. Winslow has struggled to crack the rotation, as he is on pace for career lows with 4.2 points and 12.9 minutes per contest. Both should see their respective roles expand with the Blazers, as Damian Lillard (abdominal) remains on the shelf.

Wed Nov 17 202121:22Justise Winslow Ruled Out For Thursday’s Game
LA Clippers small forward Justise Winslow (personal) will miss his third straight game Thursday as he deals with a personal matter. Winslow has been lightly used off the bench for the vast majority of the year, logging north of 20 minutes played just twice. Still only 25 years old, Winslow has shown an ability to be a multi-category contributor when given the opportunity, although it's unclear that such a chance will arise with the Clippers. Even when cleared, the southpaw can remain on the waiver wire in all season-long formats for the time being.

Fri Aug 6 202122:56Justise Winslow Agrees To Deal With Clippers
Free-agent forward Justise Winslow agreed to a two-year deal with the Clippers. After Winslow played in Miami during his first five seasons in the league, his production significantly declined with Memphis during the 2020-21 campaign, averaging 6.8 points and 4.5 rebounds throughout 26 games. The 25-year-old doesn't have any value on the fantasy end at the moment. However, with Kawhi Leonard (knee) expected to miss time moving ahead, the former Blue Devil has a chance to see an uptick in statistical categories, although it likely won't be enough to make a difference for fantasy managers.

Thu Jun 3 202121:41Grizzlies see bright future after surprising playoff push
The Memphis Grizzlies believe they have a great foundation after returning to the playoffs much faster than anyone outside the franchise expected. That makes losing their first-round series to the top-seeded Utah Jazz a little easier to take. “We definitely didn't want our season to end the way it did, but I mean we have a lot to be proud of," guard Ja Morant said after Memphis was eliminated in five games by Utah. "Our fight. We had an unbelievable season. We achieved one of our goals. ... We know what we got to do. Everybody's hungry for more.” Memphis exceeded expectations by finishing 38-34 to reach the NBA's new play-in tournament. The Grizzlies beat San Antonio, then the Golden State Warriors on the road to earn the No. 8 seed and snap a four-year playoff drought. That made the Grizzlies not only the youngest team this postseason but the youngest in the playoffs since Oklahoma City in 2011. They won Game 1 before falling in five games to the team that posted the NBA's best record... [More]

Thu Jan 28 202102:00Grizzlies back to practicing, hope to resume season quickly
The Memphis Grizzlies finally are back on a basketball court and hoping to get back to playing games. The Grizzlies returned to practice Wednesday night after having their last five games postponed because of contact tracing within the team and the length of time they were unable to practice. They had been allowed to do individual workouts with one coach over the past couple days, and coach Taylor Jenkins said it was great to be back. “It’s definitely been unique,” Jenkins said. “But I think our entire team, a lot of credit to our players, our staff to adjust obviously working really closely with the league on what are the best courses of action over the last dating back to when we were in Portland. But everyone’s handled it really well.” The NBA stopped play last March with the Grizzlies in Portland for a road game against the Trail Blazers the next night. They were in Portland again last week on a five-game winning streak only to have the first of a back-to-back with the Trail Blazers... [More]
Tue Dec 29 202017:43Grizzlies' Ja Morant out 3-5 weeks with sprained left ankle
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — NBA Rookie of the Year Ja Morant will miss three to five weeks after spraining his left ankle. The Memphis Grizzlies said Tuesday that further tests revealed Morant suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain during Monday night's 116-111 overtime win over Brooklyn. “i know God is working, so I smile,” Morant wrote Tuesday on Twitter. Morant was defending a shot by Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and rolled his ankle when he landed on Luwawu-Cabarrot's foot. Morant hopped off the court and was taken by wheelchair to the locker room. He returned to watch the end of the game with his left foot in a walking boot. The Grizzlies already are without Jaren Jackson Jr., who is recovering from surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee in August, and Justise Winslow, who is coming back from a left hip injury. Morant led Memphis in scoring last season, averaging 17.8 points a game. He also opened this season scoring a career-high 44 points. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
Sun Aug 16 202013:03No playoffs a painful lesson for Ja Morant, young Grizzlies
Ja Morant will have a painful memory from his rookie season to help remind him — and the rest of the NBA — just how far ahead of schedule the Memphis Grizzlies' rebuilding project is.“How close I was to the playoffs,” Morant said Saturday after the Grizzlies' playoff hopes ended in a 126-122 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference's play-in game.“Obviously, now I feel like I kind of know what it takes to make it. We're some games away. I learned a lot through the amount of games I played this whole season. I say people try to put a lot of pressure on me, but I'm a rookie. Just turned 21 a couple days ago. At this point, I'm still learning.”The likely NBA rookie of the year capped off his season by scoring a career-best 35 points despite playing with a broken thumb the final four games of the NBA's restart in Florida. Only three Grizzlies rookies previously scored 35 or more in a regular-season game: Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr.Better yet,... [More]

Mon Mar 9 202017:11Grizzlies expecting Jackson, Winslow back by next week
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Grizzlies are expecting forward Jaren Jackson Jr. to return from an injured left knee within the next week along with Justise Winslow also making his debut with Memphis in that same time span.Memphis gave an injury update Monday. Jackson hurt his knee Feb. 21 in a road loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Grizzlies originally said the No. 4 overall pick of the 2018 draft would be out at least two weeks before updating his status. The Grizzlies acquired Winslow on Feb. 6 in a deal sending Andre Iguodala to Miami, knowing he wouldn't be available immediately because of back soreness that limited him to 11 games this season. Winslow spent his first five seasons in the NBA with Miami, missing most of his second with an injured shoulder.
