Thu Feb 6 201411:11Chris Johnson will remain with Celtics
The Celtics will reportedly sign Chris Johnson for the remainder of the 2013-14 season.
Johnson's second 10-day contract expired on Thursday, so it's great news for him that the luxury tax-strapped Celtics decided they could afford to keep the swingman. Johnson's fantasy value is still a bit limited as he's only been playing 21.6 minutes per game in his eight games with Boston, but he can provide value in deeper leagues with his 1.5 3-pointers per game.

Tue Feb 4 201413:26Chris Johnson's status up in the air
The Celtics haven't decided whether they will sign Chris Johnson for the rest of the season.
Brad Stevens said on Tuesday that if Johnson isn't retained for the rest of the season, it will have nothing to do with basketball reasons. Johnson has played well enough to warrant a contract, but it sounds as if a signing might be a difficult financial decision for the C's. The 23-year-old has averaged 8.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 3-pointers in seven games this season, but any fantasy value he has could disappear if he is left without a home when his current 10-day contract ends.

Tue Jan 28 201422:59Chris Johnson hits four 3-pointers for C's
Chris Johnson hit 4-of-7 shots (all 3-pointers) for 12 points, one rebound and one assist in 22 minutes off the Celtics bench on Tuesday.
"He's playing like one of our best players right now and I need to find a way to get him more minutes," coach Brad Steven said after the game. Gerald Wallace is starting out of position at shooting guard and it would not be shocking if CJ gets a shot at the job while Avery Bradley recovers from his ankle injury. If you're in a deep league, Johnson is worth a look, even though he's still not guaranteed to be on the Celtics roster 10 days from now.

Mon Jan 27 201409:04Celts expected to re-sign Chris Johnson
The Celtics are expected to sign F Chris Johnson to a second 10-day contract on Monday.
The move comes as no surprise given Johnson's solid play and coach Brad Stevens' effusive praise for the D-League callup. "[Johnson] was great," Stevens said after Sunday's game. "He's been fantastic and aggressive and just a really good addition." He's playing 27 minutes per game with Boston and has some fantasy appeal in deeper leagues with averages of 10.0 points, 1.3 threes, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Sat Jan 25 201400:31Chris Johnson still gets 24 minutes vs. OKC
Chris Johnson played 24 minutes off the bench on Friday with eight points, four boards, one assist and four fouls.
He's going to be more of a sixth man with minutes at shooting guard and small forward, but Phil Pressey getting some playing time next to Rajon Rondo will limit his upside. Johnson is only worth a look in deep leagues for now.

Wed Jan 22 201422:34Chris Johnson plays well off the bench
Chris Johnson played 30 minutes off the bench on Wednesday with nine points, two boards, one assist, four steals and one 3-pointer.
He shot just 3-of-9 from the field and had a couple ugly shots in the win. Johnson's off-the-ball game was pretty good and he stayed very active in trying to get cuts to the hoop, which will certainly get coach Brad Stevens' attention. He seems like he's going to be a big part of the solution for the Celtics with Avery Bradley (ankle) out, so he's worth a look for his ability to add steals and treys.

Tue Jan 21 201423:16Chris Johnson scores 11 in Celtics debut
Chris Johnson came off the bench for 11 points, three rebounds, one assist, a steal and two 3-pointers on 4-of-7 shooting in his Celtics debut on Tuesday.
Avery Bradley went down with a sprained ankle and Jerryd Bayless was out with a toe injury, forcing CJ into 25 minutes. The Celtics play again on Wednesday against the Wizards, and Johnson should see heavy minutes again, as Bradley and Bayless aren't expected to play. The Celtics should have Vander Blue available for that one, and the two could split minutes at shooting guard tomorrow night.

Fri Jan 17 201412:26Celtics sign F Chris Johnson
The Celtics signed F Chris Johnson.
Johnson has been signed to a 10-day contract which carries him through the Celtics' January 26th matchup against Brooklyn. With the Celtics' roster in flux, Johnson may see some minutes, but shouldn't warrant any attention from fantasy owners for the time being.

Thu Jan 16 201410:12Chris Johnson working out for Boston Celtics
Chris Johnson underwent a workout for the Boston Celtics.
Johnson has been playing with the Rio Grande Vipers of the D-League and reportedly has a good shot at a 10-day contract with the Celtics. Boston's roster has been in flux due to injuries and trades, but it's highly unlikely that Johnson would be much of a fantasy factor even if he does hook on with the Celts.

Sun Feb 3 201313:50Grizzlies re-sign Chris Johnson
The Grizzlies have signed Chris Johnson to a second 10-day contract.
Johnson, an undrafted SF, is shooting 33 percent from downtown in five games with Memphis. He may not stick with the team after this deal ends and there's no reason to bother with him in standard fantasy leagues.

Sat Feb 2 201307:32Chris Johnson expected to be re-signed
The Grizzlies are expected to re-sign Chris Johnson to another 10-day contract.
Such a move would allow Johnson to stick with the Grizz through the All-Star break, but if the team wanted to keep him beyond a second 10-day deal, they'd have to sign him for the remainder of the season.

Wed Jan 30 201318:00Chris Johnson could see a boost
With Rudy Gay heading to Toronto the Grizzlies are without a starting small forward until they flip Jose Calderon for one, meaning Chris Johnson could draw a few starts.
The Grizzlies are expected to land a guy like Tayshaun Prince or Corey Maggette from Detroit, or Vince Carter from Dallas, in exchange for Calderon. And if it happens to be Maggette, his body probably isn't ready to handle starter's minutes. Johnson is not a must-add fantasy player, but could see a boost in value with this deal.

Sat Jan 26 201301:02Chris Johnson scores 10 points Friday
Chris Johnson scored a career-high 10 points in 22 minutes against Brooklyn on Friday.
He signed a 10-day deal on Tuesday due to solid play in the D-League. In 21 D-League games, Johnson 2.6 points, 4 rebounds and 1.81 steals with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He's not on the fantasy radar, though.

Tue Jan 22 201316:45Chris Johnson now on Grizzlies
Grizzlies signed G/F Chris Johnson.
The Grizz are adding cheap, warm bodies to their roster after executing a salary dump trade Tuesday morning. Johnson has emerged as one of the better players in the D-League and will get a crack at filling the old Wayne Ellington role in Memphis.
