Sun Oct 29 202323:13Caleb Martin Doubtful To Return On Monday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) has missed the team's last two games with left knee tendinosis and he's doubtful to make his return on Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. The good news is that Kevin Love (shoulder) is probable while Haywood Highsmith (knee) is out and Josh Richardson (heel) is also doubtful. Martin has only been able to play in the season opener so far this year, and couldn't reach the 20-minute mark in that contest. If he remains out, Love should see most of the opportunities while Nikola Jovic may see the floor again as well.

Sat Oct 28 202315:52Caleb Martin To Miss Saturday's Contest
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) isn't available for Saturday's showdown with the Timberwolves. The 28-year-old appeared in the season opener against the Detroit Pistons. However, he'll now miss his second straight game because of a left knee issue. Unfortunately for Miami, the injuries don't end there, as Kevin Love (shoulder), Haywood Highsmith (knee), and Josh Richardson (heel) are also out. To make matters worse, Jimmy Butler (rest) will take the night off after suiting up for Friday's loss to Boston. That said, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro should be the top performers versus Minnesota, with guys like Duncan Robinson (foot), ... [More]

Fri Oct 27 202309:41Caleb Martin Trending Towards Playing On Friday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) is officially listed as probable to take the floor against the Boston Celtics on Friday night. The 28-year-old played 20 minutes off of the bench in their first game against the Detroit Pistons but he was unable to put up many stats. Martin has been dealing with this left knee tendinosis throughout training camp and the preseason, so at this point, it seems like this is more of a pain tolerance issue. Martin can still help out fantasy managers in deeper leagues, but he may be a little inconsistent given the nature of the knee issue.

Thu Oct 19 202308:33Erik Spoelstra "Encouraged" By Caleb Martin's Progress
Miami Heat guard/forward Caleb Martin (knee) hasn't been able to play in preseason due to left knee tendonitis, but he could be available for the regular-season opener next Wednesday. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has said he's "encouraged" by Martin's progress. Following his outstanding play during the 2023 playoffs, Martin enters the 2023-24 campaign with extra expectations on his shoulders. He totaled 12.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 30.2 minutes during the postseason. However, it's going to be tough for Martin to keep up the numbers, as he faces plenty of competition for playing time and is currently projected to start the campaign as a reserve.

Tue Oct 17 202315:41Caleb Martin Spotted At Practice
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) was limited at Tuesday's practice. Martin is yet to play in the preseason while tending to left knee tendonitis, but a limited practice session is certainly a step in the right direction. The Heat take on the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night for the penultimate preseason finale, so we'll see another update on the 28-year-old role player ahead of that contest. Martin is set to take on a meaningful role in South Beach once again this season, after the versatile three-and-D swingman started a career-high 49 games with 29.3 minutes per game last year. Martin could supply some low-end fantasy value in category settings during instances where he starts, but he looks like a bench player to begin the campaign.

Sat Oct 7 202311:46Caleb Martin Dealing With A Knee Issue
According to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald, Heat forward Caleb Martin (knee) was limited in practice on Saturday. As a result, he may not play in Monday's intrasquad scrimmage. Martin averaged a career-high 9.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 71 games for the Heat in 2022-23. He was also instrumental to the Heat's success during the postseason by logging 19.3 points per game in the Eastern Conference Finals. The 28-year-old should see a more consistent role throughout the 2023-24 campaign, considering the team lost Max Strus and Gabe Vincent during the offseason. That said, while Martin's current case of tendinosis doesn't sound severe, it's something that could pop up at some point throughout the 2023-24 campaign.

Martin came out of nowhere to play a key role for the Heat during the playoffs, and he will now have a lot of eyeballs on him that want to see if he can also do it during the regular season. Miami has him locked up for next season for just $6.8 million.

Thu Jun 8 202309:57Caleb Martin Gets Going Again In Game 3
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin was back in form in Game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday, registering 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench. He made the biggest improvement offensively, having previously totaled only six points in the first two games of the series. Martin shot 4-for-9 in the contest and was 2-for-5 with the three-ball. However, the Heat still ended up taking a resounding loss and a bigger all-around contribution from Martin would greatly improve the team's chances in the series. After averaging 19.3 points and 6.4 rebounds in the previous round against Boston, Martin has so far settled for just 5.3 points and 4.0 boards versus Denver.

Sun Jun 4 202318:17Caleb Martin Will Play Sunday Night
Miami Heat guard/forward Caleb Martin (illness) will be available for Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. Martin will suit up against the Denver Nuggets after missing Saturday's practice with an undisclosed illness. Martin shot poorly in Game 1 and may have been feeling some effects of the illness. If Martin is limited in any capacity, Kyle Lowry and Haywood Highsmith would likely see increased roles with Tyler Herro (hand) still out.

Sun Jun 4 202303:55Caleb Martin Questionable For Sunday Night
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (illness) is questionable ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals against Denver. He missed practice on Saturday, which isn't a good sign. However, with Martin being so valuable during the postseason, he'll likely do whatever it takes to get on the floor. At the same time, if he doesn't suit up on Sunday, Kevin Love could move back into the starting lineup. Unfortunately, Love hasn't been an impactful fantasy option, so managers should consider Haywood Highsmith, who had 18 points and two steals in Game 1.

Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin (back) will suit up for Monday's Game 4 against the New York Knicks. The 27-year-old landed on the injury report due to a back contusion. Although, it sounds like a minor issue, so Martin should be able to play his normal role in this game. Martin has been a key player off the bench for Miami, so having him available is great for them. However, he probably doesn't have great DFS appeal.

Wed May 3 202309:06Caleb Martin Leads Heat In Scoring Tuesday
Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin filled in admirably for Jimmy Butler (ankle) in the starting unit Tuesday against the Knicks, scoring a team-high 22 points in a 111-105 defeat. Having gobbled up eight boards, Martin also shared the team lead in rebounds, and he dished out one assist with zero turnovers in 38 minutes. Martin finished 4-for-8 from deep and 8-for-15 overall. This was a very good performance from Martin, but it will be tough to replicate it in Game 3, as it appears likely that Butler will be back in the lineup for this one. However, Martin has played well in these playoffs and should still have a significant role in the rotation. The 27-year-old is averaging 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds for the postseason.
