Wed Mar 20 201320:45Emeka Okafor (flu) will not play vs. Phoenix
Emeka Okafor (flu) will not play against the Suns on Wednesday.
Jason Collins will get the start, but this is likely due to Randy Wittman wanting to keep the second unit together a little more. Trevor Booker and Kevin Seraphin figure to get most of Okafor's 26.3 minutes per game. Okafor should be ready to go for Friday's game against the Lakers.

Mon Mar 18 201323:23Okafor goes for 17 and nine against Bobcats
Emeka Okafor scored 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting with nine rebounds and two blocks over 30 minutes on Monday against the Bobcats.
Okafor went for 17 and 10 on Saturday and he needs to put up big double-doubles to offset his poor shooting. He's a low-end big man when you tally everything up.

Sat Mar 16 201321:45Okafor racks up 17 & 10 in win vs. Phoenix
Emeka Okafor racked up 17 points, 10 rebounds and one block in 26 minutes vs. Phoenix, hitting 7-of-12 FGs and 3-of-5 FTs.
Okafor's production has slumped in March and he was invisible in his previous two games, so take this with a grain of salt. The Wizards' schedule works in his favor, though, as Washington plays four times in each of the next three weeks.

Tue Mar 12 201322:04Emeka Okafor goes for 18 & 11 in loss
Emeka Okafor had 18 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Tuesday's loss.
He's hit double figures in rebounds in eight of his last 10 games, has double-doubled in four of his last six, and has blocked a shot in six straight games after struggling in that category previously. There's no reason he shouldn't be owned in almost all fantasy leagues, as he's been quietly productive all season.

Thu Mar 7 201300:22Emeka Okafor racks up 17th double-double
Emeka Okafor recorded his 17th double-double of the season on Wednesday, scoring 10 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in a losing effort.
Okafor started slow this season, but he's been automatic for the past two months, averaging 11.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.9 blocks. His lousy FT shooting (48.7 percent) tends to drain his value in roto leagues but he's completely decimated Kevin Seraphin for fantasy purposes -- Seraphin is averaging 12 minutes per game in the past month and picked up a few DNP-CDs in late February.

Sat Feb 23 201323:00Emeka Okafor notches 17 & 11 in victory
Emeka Okafor notched his second straight double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in Saturday's home win.
Okafor chipped in two steals and three blocks in 34 minutes, and the historically lousy FT shooter split a pair to give Washington the lead with five seconds remaining. Kevin Seraphin picked up a DNP-CD tonight, and by all indications Okafor will keep the starting gig until the season ends.

Thu Feb 14 201300:19Emeka Okafor goes for 20 & 9 in loss
Emeka Okafor had 20 points, nine rebounds and zero blocks in Wednesday's loss.
He did almost all his damage through three quarters, and then inexplicably sat most of the fourth quarter. He's having a surprisingly fine season and still worth owning in almost all leagues, despite his recent lack of blocks. He's still averaging 1.1 on the season, but hasn't recorded a block in his last five games, which means they are coming.

Mon Feb 4 201321:43Okafor bounces back w/ nice game vs. Clips
Emeka Okafor bounced back on Monday after a few quiet games, scoring nine points with 14 rebounds, two assists, one steal and zero turnovers vs. the Clippers.
Okafor averaged a double-double with a block per game in January and there are no signs that his role is changing, so don't hesitate to keep him in your active lineups. His 57.3 percent FT shooting is the only real pitfall to owning him (1-of-4 tonight), though mercifully he gets to the line only 2.1 times per game.

Sun Feb 3 201300:07Okafor cools off, shoots 1-of-6 vs. Spurs
Emeka Okafor shot 1-of-6 for two points vs. the Spurs, while grabbing nine rebounds and blocking one shot in 20 minutes.
John Wall scored 21 points and was ironically one of the few Wizards who could stick a jumper, and we're not reading much into this dud from Okafor, who finished January with averages of 11.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks. Backup center Kevin Seraphin played 22 minutes but scored only four points on 1-of-4 shooting.

Wed Jan 30 201323:11Emeka Okafor posts another big dub-dub
Emeka Okafor had 15 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks on 7-of-15 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Sixers.
Okafor has been ridiculous lately, coming off 23 points and 15 rebounds on 9-of-13 shooting on Monday, posting double-doubles in three straight games, and averaging 13.4 points, 14.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks over his last five games. As we've been saying, he should be owned in all leagues, period.

Mon Jan 28 201322:58Okafor goes for 23 and 15 against the Kings
Emeka Okafor scored a season-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting with 15 rebounds, three assists, and one steal against the Kings on Monday.
Okafor did not block a shot but he hit 5-of-6 free throws. Owners should keep in mind that this comes against the Kings, but he has been getting it done lately and should be owned in all formats while that is the case.

Mon Jan 28 201308:48Emeka Okafor starting to thrive with Nene
Emeka Okafor is averaging 10.1 points, 11.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocks on 50.6 percent shooting since Nene was inserted in the starting lineup alongside him.
The pairing of Okafor and Nene has paid off for the Wizards. In addition to those solid statistics, Okafor is also averaging 0.9 steals in January to boot. He's really emerged as a solid option in fantasy leagues, especially for those owners in need of a big man. Okafor should not be floating on waiver wires right now.

Sat Jan 26 201321:51Emeka Okafor goes for 15 & 16 in win
Emeka Okafor had 15 points, 16 rebounds, two steals and no blocks in Saturday's impressive win over the Bulls.
Okafor continues to impress, averaging nearly 10 points, more than 13 boards, a steal and 1.4 blocks per game over his last five.

Thu Jan 24 201300:26Okafor grabs 17 boards in loss to Utah
Emeka Okafor scored six points and grabbed 17 rebounds, one shy of his season high, in a road loss in Utah on Wednesday.
The veteran center added one steal and two blocks in 31 minutes. He's successfully fending off Kevin Seraphin (four points in 19 minutes) for playing time and has averaged a workman-like 10.2 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in January, good enough for low-end value.

Mon Jan 14 201322:02Emeka Okafor scores 19 points with 11 boards
Emeka Okafor had his third double-double in a row on Monday with 19 points and 11 rebounds to go with two assists and one block in 27 minutes.
His minutes have been inconsistent lately since he's played in less than 23 minutes in two of his last six games. He's still be putting up nice numbers for owners in standard leagues that need boards.

Mon Jan 7 201322:55Okafor steps up with guys out on Monday
Emeka Okafor double-doubled with 12 points and 12 rebounds to go with two blocks in Monday's win over the Thunder.
Okafor hit 5-of-10 shots and logged 37 minutes with Nene and others out tonight, and owners should give him some credit for a good night but keep their expectations where they were before tonight. Okafor is an inconsistent, borderline option best suited for deeper leagues.

Sun Jan 6 201320:42Okafor quiet in under 20 minutes
Emeka Okafor started at center but played under 20 minutes on Sunday, finishing a loss in Miami with five points, nine rebounds, one steal and zero blocks.
Kevin Seraphin played 31 minutes as Okafor's sluggish January continued -- through four games he's averaging just 9.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 0.3 blocks, while cracking 30 minutes one time. He's coming off a game in which he missed 6-of-7 FTs, and he can safely be cut for another free agent.

Sat Jan 5 201300:19Okafor goes for 13 and seven in loss
Emeka Okafor scored 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals over 31 minutes in Friday's double-overtime loss to the Nets.
Randy Wittman is riding the hot hand between Okafor and Kevin Seraphin (1-of-9 FGs, 18 minutes), and Okafor has been playing mostly well over the last week. We can't guarantee that he will keep it up, but he's worth a look while the good nights are outweighing the bad.

Wed Jan 2 201322:40Emeka Okafor cools off in loss to Pacers
Emeka Okafor had just four points to go along with nine rebounds, a steal and a block on 2-of-6 shooting in 22 minutes against Roy Hibbert and the Pacers on Wednesday.
Okafor came in hot, racking up double-doubles in four of his previous five games, so he was due for an off night. As long as he continues to start and get heavy minutes for the Wiz, he's worth owning in leagues where centers are thin on the waiver wire.

Tue Jan 1 201320:56Emeka Okafor double-doubles again
Emeka Okafor had 14 points, 11 rebounds and zero blocks in Tuesday's loss to Dallas.
Okafor has now double-doubled in four of his last five games and is worth picking up by any owner in need of a fantasy center.
