Sat Apr 1 202308:48Time To Hang It Up: Five NBA Players That Should Retire After The Season
Basketball is a fast-paced game. While the court's dimensions are smaller than baseball and football fields, there is no room to relax because players must exert effort on offense and defense. NBA's Advanced Stats reveal that LaMelo Ball trumps other ballers in the distance covered, averaging 2.77 miles per game. Fred VanVleet is not far behind at 2.76.Therefore, basketball players must be in good condition to render significant minutes. Conversely, injuries are also a dime a dozen because of the extensive regular season. Failing to stay in shape could mean reduced playing time or an abrupt end to their career. But at some point, Father Time wins, no matter how much a player wants to delay the inevitable. These players have rendered extensive NBA careers but are far from the peak of their capabilities. Sadly, retirement after the 2022-23 season is a strong possibility because they are not steady contributors anymore or hardly step into the court. However, their younger teammates should pick their brains and learn from their limitless wisdom.

Thaddeus Young

Young won the NBA Hustle Award during the 2020-21 season thanks to his accumulated hustle stats like taking screens and diving for loose balls. But that recognition is a nice consolation for a man who nearly averaged a double-double (15.1 points, nine rebounds) for the 2015-16 season with the Brooklyn Nets.https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1612227070108516355The 16-year veteran has been touted as a do-it-all player on both ends. Unfortunately, his production has significantly dropped in his second season with the Toronto Raptors. He is averaging only 4.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game through March 11. He hasn't played since, even if he is on the active roster, because of ... [More]
Thu Mar 23 202310:39Pascal Siakam Leads All Scorers In Losing Effort
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam scored a game-high 31 points on Wednesday, but the team couldn't scrap out the win as they fell to the Indiana Pacers by four points. The 28-year-old added 10 rebounds, seven assists, and one block while he shot 11-for-17 from the floor and 9-for-11 from the line. Siakam is now ranked 53rd in nine-category leagues which is 24 spots lower than his ADP this year. While he's been amazing for those in points formats, his value elsewhere has left a little to be desired.

Sun Mar 19 202312:05Pascal Siakam Logs Another Double-Double
Toronto Raptors forward/center Pascal Siakam bagged a second consecutive double-double with a 27-point, 10-rebound performance in Saturday's 122-107 win over Minnesota. He added six assists to his tally while shooting 11-for-22 from the field. Siakam's 1-for-6 effort from deep was a disappointment and fantasy managers could've done without his three turnovers, but the Cameroonian star has broken out of a slump, and that's the main thing. Siakam had averaged only 15.2 points for the month before putting together back-to-back 20-point performances. Another one is needed on Sunday if the Raptors want to beat Giannis Antetokounmpo and his crew.

Fri Mar 17 202309:58Pascal Siakam Has Double-Double In Win Over Thunder
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam spear-headed a much-needed win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday as the entire starting five were in the positives for plus/minus. He registered 25 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists while shooting 9-for-19 from the floor and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. This marked his 18th double-double of the season and has put up in the top 60 for nine-category leagues. The primary knocks against him have been his shooting percentages for a power forward and his turnover totals, but neither are bad enough to be alarmed.

Sun Feb 26 202321:34Pascal Siakam Leads Toronto With 25 Points In Loss
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam seemed to be the only player on the roster that showed up to play on Sunday as he was one of only three players in double digits and the only one that had over 13 points. The All-Star forward ended the game with 25 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while shooting 10-for-24 overall and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Siakam is still the most consistent fantasy asset on the Raptors and he's just going to put up big games as they try to fight their way into the playoffs.

Sun Feb 26 202307:42Pascal Siakam Leads Raptors To Victory
Toronto Raptors forward/center Pascal Siakam had a game-high 29 points in Saturday's 95-91 victory in Detroit, shooting 9-for-19 from the field and 10-for-13 at the foul line. He also filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks, while shooting 1-for-2 from deep. Siakam played for 35 minutes and registered his fourth game of the season without a single turnover. The two-time All-Star does it all for Toronto on a regular basis, and he's currently carrying an even bigger burden offensively with Fred VanVleet (personal) out of action. Siakam will head back out Sunday against Cleveland, looking to record his seventh straight game with at least 26 points.

Mon Feb 13 202307:58Pascal Siakam Stays Hot With A 28-Point Effort
Toronto Raptors forward/center Pascal Siakam tallied 28 points Sunday as the team beat Detroit 119-118. He shot 10-for-19 from the field, including 1-for-3 from downtown, and nailed seven of his 10 free throws. In 38 minutes on the court, Siakam dished out six assists, picked up four rebounds and blocked two shots. The Raptors star has been very efficient with his work lately and it's helped him to average 33.3 points over a three-game stretch. He should have a great time again Tuesday against Orlando's shaky defense. Siakam has averaged 27.0 points in three meetings with the Magic this season, adding 7.7 rebounds and 8.0 assists.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202309:42Pascal Siakam Leads Raptors To Home Win Against Spurs
Toronto Raptors power forward Pascal Siakam paved the way to a 14-point Raptors home win on Wednesday night. The 28-year-old forward logged 37 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 40 minutes while shooting 15-for-21 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from deep. As the team's leader offensively, Siakam's fantasy value should remain high and could even increase with the recent trade talks of teammates Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby.

Fri Jan 13 202311:13Pascal Siakam Leads Raptors In Scoring On Thursday
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam led all scorers as the team grabbed a 10-point win over the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night. The seventh-year forward out of New Mexico State put up 35 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one block on a crazy efficient 11-for-13 shooting and 10-for-12 shooting from the charity stripe. Siakam remains the Raptors' MVP so far this season as he's been the only consistent option on the squad throughout the year. He's currently a third-round value in category formats and he's ranked 35th overall.

Wed Dec 28 202212:37Pascal Siakam Posts Strong Outing Despite Loss
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam delivered yet again, but the rest of the team didn't help much as they fell to the Los Angeles Clippers by 11 points. The 28-year-old finished with 36 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block. He shot 13-for-24 from the floor and 10-for-15 from the free-throw line but was unable to hit any of his four three-point attempts. Siakam is the most dependable fantasy asset on Toronto's roster and he remains in the top 25 for category fantasy leagues.

On top of that, he threw in nine rebounds, seven assists, and one steal. The Raptors as a team may not be consistent, but Siakam is as consistent of a fantasy asset as any manager could hope for.

Toronto Raptors forward/center Pascal Siakam had a massive night against the Sixers Monday, scoring a season-high 38 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in a 104-101 overtime loss. He also tallied six assists with five turnovers and had one steal in 48 minutes. Siakam was the only reliable source of offense for Toronto on the night, shooting 13-for-27 from the field, including 3-for-8 from downtown, and 9-for-11 at the foul line. The 2020 All-Star was a bit quiet last week, but Siakam has enjoyed an outstanding campaign overall, averaging multiple career-best numbers. He's getting 25.0 points per game with 8.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists.

The former All-Star has meant business since returning from a groin injury, averaging 22.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists with 1.5 steals. Mon Nov 28 202218:18Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam To Play Monday
Toronto Raptors guard Scottie Barnes (knee) and forward Pascal Siakam (groin) will suit up for Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is great news for the Raptors who will finally get to pair these two together in the starting five again. The expectation is that Siakam is going to have a minutes limit during this game. That being said, Barnes and Fred VanVleet will likely be tasked with carrying the load on offense. Juancho Hernangomez and Thaddeus Young should head back to the bench, which will significantly hurt their value. Fantasy managers in season-long formats should make sure they have Barnes and Siakam in their lineups for Monday.

Sun Nov 27 202214:25Pascal Siakam Questionable For Monday
Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 28-year-old has been sidelined the last three weeks due to a right groin issue. He has been cleared for contact practice, which is good news for him. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see Siakam miss another game or two while he gets back up to full speed. Juancho Hernangomez will continue to benefit until Siakam returns to the court.

Sat Nov 26 202200:57Pascal Siakam Moving Closer Toward Returning
Toronto Raptors forward/center Pascal Siakam (adductor) is cleared to resume contact and practiced in full on Friday. However, he'll remain out for Saturday's game against Dallas. The 28-year-old has had a fantastic season, averaging a career-high 24.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.7 assists in nine games. Although it may take Siakam a game or two to receive his usual workload, fantasy managers should get him back in the starting lineup the minute he's declared active, which may be soon.
