Memphis Grizzlies guard Rajon Rondo is unlikely to remain with the team ahead of the upcoming 2021-22 NBA season. After the Los Angeles Clippers dealt Rondo during the offseason, the veteran will again look to move on and contribute to a team with championship aspirations. He began last season in Atlanta before ending up in L.A., averaging 7.6 points, 5.8 assists, and 1.0 steals throughout 18 games with the club. However, regardless of where he ends up, he probably won't get much attention from fantasy managers in any format, primarily since he isn't expected to contribute much, at least not consistently.

Free-Agent guard Dwayne Bacon agreed to a one-year, minimum-salary deal with the New York Knicks. Bacon spent his first three seasons in Charlotte before suiting up for the Magic last season, finishing the year by averaging a career-high 10.9 points and 3.1 rebounds throughout all 72 games. The move purely adds depth for the Knickerbockers, although there could be a steaming opportunity for needy fantasy managers at some point during the 2021-22 campaign. However, he shouldn't be considered a consistent option in any format unless he gains a consistent role moving ahead.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) is expected to miss the entire 2021-22 season. Leonard suffered a partially torn ACL in his right knee during the playoffs. However, after opting out of a $36 million player option this offseason, he eventually agreed to a four-year, $176 million to return to L.A., doing so despite uncertainty about his health moving ahead. Fantasy managers with room to spare can undoubtedly clear a spot on the roster and stash Leonard just in case he comes back earlier than anticipated. However, considering that the team will continue to take the cautious approach with its superstar, the multi-time All-Star probably won't be back until October of 2022.

Los Angeles Lakers center Marc Gasol isn't guaranteed to remain with the team moving ahead. The veteran is expected to earn $2.7 million during the final year of his current deal. However, with Dwight Howard back in town and Anthony Davis anticipated to spend some time in the middle this season, L.A. may be looking to fill a void elsewhere by freeing up a roster spot. Nonetheless, the 36-year-old didn't contribute much during the 2020-21 campaign, averaging a career-low 5.0 points and 4.1 rebounds throughout 52 games. Regardless of where he ends up, it's likely he won't draw much attention from fantasy managers anyway.

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (Achilles) could make his long-awaited return during the Christmas Day matchup against the Phoenix Suns. It's been a while since Thompson has been on the hardwood in an official capacity, with his most recent appearance during the 2019 NBA Finals resulting in a torn ACL. While a potential December comeback is undoubtedly welcome news, it will probably take him a month or so to build back up to full strength. However, a late-round stash for fantasy managers is still certainly warranted.

The deal is for $54 million, and it comes after the 23-year-old had a breakout season in 2021, including averaging 9.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks throughout 13 games as a starter. Unfortunately, a toe ailment limited him to some degree. However, it's probable he will see an increase in production this season, primarily on the glass and defensive end. His superb shooting percentage also won't negatively impact category managers either, but he will need to stay healthy, which has been an issue throughout his limited tenure in the league.

Free-agent forward Torrey Craig agreed to a deal with the Pacers. The 30-year-old has played with three different teams throughout his four seasons in the league, most recently averaging 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds throughout 32 games with Phoenix last season. Nonetheless, it's probable he won't possess consistent fantasy value this year. However, there may be times where he gets attention as a streaming option if an injury occurs somewhere in the Pacers' rotation during the 2021-22 campaign.

New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley shined as the primary ball-handler for the Knicks Summer League with 7.8 assists across five games. The second-year guard played mostly off the ball during his rookie season, averaging 11.4 points, 2.0 assists, 1.8 3PM while shooting over 89% from the free throw line. While the Knicks added Kemba Walker and brought back Derrick Rose, Quickley will have his nights to lead the second-unit, or starters, at the point. Along with improving his shooting percentage from the field, the Kentucky product has the opportunity to provide sneaky value with an uptick in the scarce category of assists.

Detroit Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo agreed to a two-year, $10.4 million deal to return to the club on Thursday. The 23-year-old averaged 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and shot 46.8% from the field in 20 games with the Pistons after being acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. It'll be interesting to see if Diallo can elevate his game in an extra category or two, as he didn't crack 1.0 3PM, under 65% from the free throw line, or provide much on the defensive side of the ball. The Pistons also added the number overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft in Cade Cunningham, crowding the competition at the guard spots.

Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier agreed to a four-year, $97 million max contract extension on Thursday. The deal will keep the third-year Hornet in Charlotte through the 2025-2026 season. On top of ranking fifth in 3-pointers made in the NBA last season, the 27-year-old also averaged 20.4 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 45% from the field, all career-highs. While not elite, Rozier possesses top-ten upside at guard without dragging down any categories.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid agreed to a four-year, $196 million supermax contract extension on Tuesday. The deal will keep the big man in Philly at least through the 2026-27 campaign, and it comes after he averaged 28.5 points, 10.6 boards, and 1.4 blocks while shooting nearly 38 percent from deep last season. The 27-year-old should remain a top-ten fantasy option for the upcoming season, although consistent injuries over the years have significantly lowered his fantasy ceiling.

The Timberwolves sent Jarrett Culver to Memphis in exchange for Patrick Beverley, who was recently acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers just a few days ago. Juan Hernangomez was also included in the deal, freeing up money while adding to the team's young group of players. Culver, a sixth-overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, appeared in only 34 games last season due to injury, averaging a miserable 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds. Although Culver's fantasy history hasn't been the best throughout his two years in the league, his outlook could change, especially if he remains healthy and receives an enhanced role in his new home. However, the 22-year-old isn't worth a roster spot in nearly every fantasy league outside of dynasty formats at the moment.

On Tuesday, the Timberwolves acquired guard Patrick Beverley from the Grizzlies in exchange for Jarrett Culver and Juan Hernangomez. Beverley can't catch a break, having been dealt to Memphis by the Los Angeles Clippers just a few days ago. The veteran played sparingly last season due to a hand injury, averaging 7.5 points, 3.2 boards, and 2.1 assists throughout 37 games. While he is heading to yet another team, his fantasy ceiling is just as low, although there may be times throughout the year where he will come in handy as a streaming option.

New York Knicks guard Kemba Walker (knee) had his introductory press conference at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. Regarding his health, the four-time All-Star reported that his left knee "felt great" while also commenting that he intends to "come in feeling super good and continue to feel super good." The veteran signed a two-year, $18 million contract a few weeks ago after receiving a buyout by the Oklahoma City Thunder during the offseason. Throughout his 10 seasons in the league, the 31-year-old is averaging 19.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 1.3 steals and has historically been an effective fantasy option whenever he is on the floor. However, his health has been an issue, so managers should be mindful of that during upcoming drafts for the 2021-22 campaign.

Toronto Raptors guard Goran Dragic may not be playing for a new team this season. After the veteran recently expressed his displeasure about suiting up for a franchise in the rebuilding stages, there haven't been many offers from clubs throughout the league to acquire his services, especially with his hefty $19.5 million salary. However, his shooting percentages haven't been the best, although that could change moving ahead. Managers looking for an impactful contributor in category formats should look in Simmons' direction, as long as they are willing to take a potential hit on the offensive end.

Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam (shoulder) isn't on the market after all, at least according to the latest development. Siakam is reportedly content with remaining in Canada, and while the team will listen to offers, team president Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster aren't shopping the 27-year-old either. The sixth-year man out of New Mexico State recently underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum back in June and is expected to miss a month or so at the beginning of the season. However, although managers shouldn't select him early during fantasy drafts for the upcoming season, he is certainly worth a stash for those who've filled out their starting lineups.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Isaiah Joe (knee) was injured during Sunday's 99-96 overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Joe left the Summer League contest early after suffering an undisclosed left knee injury, although it was later determined that he had sustained a mild MCL sprain. As a result, the 2020 second-round pick will head back to Philly, where he will receive a more extensive evaluation from team medical personnel. The 22-year-old averaged only 3.7 points throughout 9.3 minutes across 41 games last season. While dynasty managers should give Joe another year or two to develop, he certainly won't see the floor enough during the 2021-22 campaign to warrant a roster spot in redraft formats, regardless of size.

Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart will remain with the team, agreeing to a four-year, $77.1 million extension on Monday evening. Smart has been the subject of consistent trade rumors during the offseason. However, with the C's locking up the 27-year-old to a max deal, it's evident that the franchise wants to keep him around for many seasons to come.
