Sat Apr 8 202308:41RJ Barrett Returns With Good All-Around Performance
New York Knicks guard/forward RJ Barrett ended a two-game absence with 28 points, seven rebounds and six assists in Friday's 113-105 loss to New Orleans. He had a nightmare from deep with a 0-for-9 effort but still shot above his season average with an 11-for-25 from the field. Barrett recorded one block on the defensive end and didn't have a single turnover in 36 minutes. The Knicks have had all kinds of injury troubles near the end of the regular season and will be glad that Barrett is back healthy again as the team gets ready to start the playoffs as the fifth seed in the East.

Thu Apr 6 202318:35RJ Barrett Questionable For Friday
New York Knicks forward RJ Barrett (illness) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He has missed each of the last two games due to a non-COVID related illness. In his absence, Quentin Grimes scored 36 points in 43 minutes of action on Wednesday. Josh Hart also played well with an increased role in the rotation. Both players would have strong streaming appeal if Barrett is forced to miss another game on Friday.

Tue Apr 4 202322:01RJ Barrett Officially Questionable Against Pacers
New York Knicks guard/forward RJ Barrett (illness) is questionable to play Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. Barrett has already missed a game due to the illness, but there are reports confirming he is expected to be available Wednesday. If this is the case, he should see plenty of looks on offense with Julius Randle (ankle) already ruled out. If Barrett sits again, look for Josh Hart to see a significant boost.

New York Knicks guard/forward RJ Barrett (illness) is questionable to play versus the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. Barrett was a very late scratch in their last game with an illness after going through shootaround and listed in the starting lineup. The Knicks now list Barrett on the injury report ahead of time as he may miss another game depending on how he feels throughout the day. Immanuel Quickley got the spot start Sunday, but did not play too well. Quickley would likely start again if Barrett sits and would be someone to keep an eye on.

Fri Feb 3 202311:39RJ Barrett Drops 30 Points In Win Over Miami
New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett put up his fifth 30-point game of the season as they took a two-point victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday. Barrett finished with 30 points, eight rebounds, and four assists while shooting 13-for-23 from the floor and 4-for-6 from the line. The 22-year-old just signed an extension this year and he's been experiencing quite the rough patch as he was benched for almost the entire fourth quarter in a different game. He's also seeing regressions in his three-point shooting and every traditional stat except points per game.

Wed Jan 11 202318:25RJ Barrett Will Make His Return Against Pacers
New York Knicks guard/forward RJ Barrett (finger) will play and start Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. Barrett is reportedly available with no minutes limit after injuring his finger on December 27th. With his return, either Quentin Grimes or Immanuel Quickley will return to the bench and see a hit in fantasy value. Given the nature of hand injuries, Barrett may take awhile to get his shot back and could see some poor shooting days ahead.

Tue Jan 10 202322:05RJ Barrett Listed As Questionable Wednesday
New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett (finger) is questionable to play against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Barrett is still looking to get back on the court after dealing with his finger injury and may make his return Wednesday at home. Immanuel Quickley has been great filling in for Barrett but will likely be the odd man out if Barrett is able to play. Fantasy managers should check back closer to game time for an update on Barrett's status.

Mon Jan 9 202318:14RJ Barrett Remains Out On Monday
New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett (finger) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The 22-year-old was listed as doubtful, so there was a little hope he'd return for this game. Sadly, he'll miss his sixth game in a row as he continues to work his way back from a right index finger laceration. In his absence, Immanuel Quickley will continue playing big minutes in the rotation. He'll be a great streaming option until Barrett gets back on the court.

Sun Jan 8 202314:58RJ Barrett Considered Doubtful For Monday
New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett (finger) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He has missed each of the last five games and has been sidelined since December 27th due to right index finger laceration. His absence has allowed Immanuel Quickley to play big minutes in the rotation. Quickly is currently providing top-75 value over the last two weeks. However, his fantasy value is going to take a hit once Barrett gets back on the court. Fantasy managers should check back on Monday. Although, it sounds like Barrett isn't quite ready to get back on the court yet.

Fri Jan 6 202314:36RJ Barrett Sidelined Again On Friday Against Toronto
New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett (finger) will have to sit out another game with a laceration on his right index finger. He has missed the last four consecutive games with the same injury and will officially miss a fifth. Immanuel Quickley has entered the starting lineup and he's only rostered in 59 percent of leagues at the moment. After him, another streaming option could be either Miles McBride or Evan Fournier. Both of them have received some more playing time, but they're harder to predict since their opportunities fluctuate.

Sun Jan 1 202321:50RJ Barrett Ruled Out For Monday Against Phoenix
New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett (finger) will officially miss his third consecutive game due to a laceration on his index finger. The fact that the team listed him out again this far in advance shows that the laceration is still pretty significant. Over the last couple of games, Immanuel Quickley and Miles McBride have entered the starting lineup since Jalen Brunson has been out as well. Quickley and McBride are solid streaming options as long as Barrett is sidelined.

Fri Dec 30 202218:19RJ Barrett Will Miss Saturday’s Contest
New York Knicks small forward RJ Barrett (finger) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Rockets due to a laceration on his right index finger. Barrett's absence will mark his second in a row, paving the way for Miles McBride and Quentin Grimes to see significant minutes on the wing. Prior to injuring his finger, Barrett was averaging 23.2 PPG across 12 December contests, including shooting 42.4 percent from long range. Julius Randle should see another massive workload against a young Rockets frontcourt, with Barrett's next chance to return coming Monday against Phoenix.

Sat Dec 24 202208:09RJ Barrett Posts Season-High 44 Points
New York Knicks guard/forward RJ Barrett had a special night on Friday against Chicago, shooting 14-for-20 from the field en route to a season-high 44 points. He hit 6-for-6 from deep and was 10-for-13 with his free throws. Incredibly, the Knicks couldn't turn Barrett's big performance into a victory, with the team blowing a three-point lead inside the final 30 seconds of action. In 39 minutes of playing time, Barrett completed his line with seven, rebounds, four assists and six turnovers. His scoring record stands at 46 points, so Barrett came very close to having a career night. With a 30-point effort against Toronto also under Barrett's belt from this week, the 22-year-old is on his way to closing out 2022 in style.

Sun Dec 11 202222:18RJ Barrett Leads Knicks To Win On Sunday
New York Knicks forward RJ Barrett took hold of the reins on Sunday and helped the team beat the Sacramento Kings by a score of 112-99. The 22-year-old played 44 minutes in this contest and ended with 27 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks. He shot 9-for-21 from the floor and 7-for-9 from the charity stripe. While he also had three turnovers, he did add two three-pointers as well. Any fantasy manager that has some stock in Barrett knows that they're not leading with efficiency when deploying him into their lineup.

Sat Nov 12 202207:04RJ Barrett Comes Through With 30 Points
New York Knicks small forward RJ Barrett stood out with a 30-point performance in Friday's 121-112 win over Detroit, adding five rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes. He posted only one turnover and shot 10-for-17 from the field with a 3-for-8 record from beyond the arc. Barrett improved his season-best by three points, and he's now sitting on a 20.2 points per game scoring average after 12 games. It appears that Barrett doesn't want to come out of his comfort zone, as his current numbers in all three major categories are almost identical to the ones he ended up having last season. He's getting 5.8 rebounds per game with 3.1 assists. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old does very little on the defensive end and this limits his fantasy value. His shooting numbers aren't pretty either, although Barrett has done decently so far this month, hitting 48 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from downtown.

Tue Oct 4 202223:10RJ Barrett Scores Game-High 21 Points On Tuesday
New York Knicks forward RJ Barrett finished with a game-high 21 points during the preseason win over the Pistons on Tuesday night. He also added five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. The 22-year-old looked good in this one, shooting 8-for-14 from the field and 3-for-5 from deep. Barrett, who averaged a career-high 20 points in 2021-22, signed a four-year extension in the offseason after months of trade rumors. However, he will remain with the Knicks and receive plenty of playing time this season. Barrett should continue to be a reliable fantasy option, although his three-point percentage dropped to 34.2% last season. If that doesn't improve, category managers will take a hit.

Tue Aug 30 202221:24RJ Barrett Receives Contract Extension
New York Knicks forward RJ Barrett agreed to a four-year, $107 million extension with the team on Tuesday. With incentives, he could earn as much as $120 million. Last season, the 22-year-old averaged a career-high 20.0 points while adding 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Barrett's new deal is somewhat surprising, primarily since the Jazz had expressed interest in him during trade discussions surrounding superstar guard Donovan Mitchell. Although a move may still happen down the line, the extension will certainly make things challenging. Nevertheless, the 2019 No. 3 overall can be a viable fantasy option no matter where he's suiting up. However, his lack of consistency has been a burden for fantasy managers. His three-point shooting has improved, but there is also work to be done in that area as well.
