Thu Nov 18 202107:54Cole Anthony Notches 15-10-7 Line Versus Knicks
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony had a nightmare with his shooting in Wednesday's win over the Knicks but rolled through with a nice 15-10-7 line. He shot eight bricks with nine attempts from behind the arc and finished 5-for-21 overall from the field. Anthony picked up one steal and posted two turnovers in 36 minutes. Poor shooting is nothing new with the 21-year-old, as he has a habit of blowing hot and cold very often. Luckily, Anthony makes up for his bad shooting in other areas, and he'll look to shine against a couple of elite teams next, with Orlando closing the week against Brooklyn and Milwaukee before starting next week with a rematch against the Bucks. Point guards have scored pretty well against both teams, but with Anthony you never know how it's going to go.

Tue Nov 16 202108:34Cole Anthony Logs Double-Double In Loss
Orland Magic point guard Cole Anthony scored a game-high 29 points during a 129-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. The 21-year-old continued his strong play to the young season, shooting 11-for-19 from the field, including 4-for-8 from three-point range, and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. The dynamic guard also added 11 assists, three boards, and two steals across 36 minutes. With 20.2 points, 1.2 steals, 6.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 43.8% shooting from the field, all career-highs, Anthony is well on his way to a breakout season.

Sun Nov 14 202108:34Cole Anthony Has 22 Points With Eight Assists Saturday Night
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony had an awful shooting night against Washington on Saturday but still managed to rack up a team-high 22 points with eight assists and four rebounds. He finished 4-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-9 from downtown, saving his scoring output with an 11-for-12 effort at the charity stripe. Anthony recently dropped a very efficient 33 points on Utah, but he tends to be a streaky shooter and has made only 40.6 percent of his shots this month. He'll now head into a week full of difficult matchups, but it starts off with a favorable spot against Atlanta. The Hawks have been a poor defensive team so far and are allowing the eighth-most points in the league to point guards this season with the sixth-most assists.

Mon Nov 8 202108:15Cole Anthony Leads Magic To Victory With 33 Points
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony scored a season-high 33 points on 13-for-20 shooting in Sunday's surprising 107-100 victory over the Jazz. He was 5-for-10 with the three-ball and filled it up across the board with three rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks in 32 minutes. Anthony has now produced two 30-point performances in four games this month. He's enjoyed a superb run of form, but it will be getting a major test now as Orlando faces Brooklyn on Wednesday. The Nets have been one of the better defensive teams in the league this season and have limited opposing point guards to 38.6 percent shooting.

Sat Nov 6 202116:28Cole Anthony Could Miss Sunday's Game
Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Utah Jazz. He is dealing with a left ankle sprain, so it wouldn't be shocking to see him miss a game or two. His absence would likely mean more minutes for Jalen Suggs and R.J. Hampton. Both players would be appealing DFS options without Anthony on the court. Fantasy managers should check back on Sunday for more information.

Sat Nov 6 202108:16Cole Anthony Leads The Charge Friday Night
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony was the team's most productive player in Friday's loss to San Antonio, scoring a game-high 21 points with nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in 35 minutes. He finished 8-for-18 from the field and shot 4-for-10 from behind the arc. It wasn't all good, though, as Anthony committed five turnovers. Anthony has now led the team in scoring four times over the last six games. It's going to be hard for him to continue the streak on Sunday when Orlando hosts Utah. The Jazz are a well-known defensive team and their record against opposing points guards is very strong. They have shot below 40 percent from the field against them, averaging just 19.3 points per 48 minutes.

Tue Nov 2 202109:39Cole Anthony Fills Up The Box Score In Victory
Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony enjoyed a standout performance in Monday's victory over the Timberwolves. Anthony dropped a season-high 31 points to help lead Orlando to a win, scoring 14 in the final period to put the game away. The North Carolina product was a model of efficiency, as evidenced by his 47.1/54.5/81.8 percent shooting splits from the field, three-point land, and the charity stripe. Anthony also narrowly missed his first career triple-double, chipping in nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and a block in the memorable performance. The 21-year-old has been one of the best fantasy values early on, as he's shaping up to have a career year across the board. Anthony will look to keep rolling against the reeling Celtics on Wednesday night.

Sat Oct 30 202106:34Cole Anthony Nets Game-High 24 Points
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony maneuvered his way to a game-high 24 points in Friday's 110-109 loss to Toronto, shooting 7-for-13 from the field and hitting a sizzling 5-for-6 from downtown. He picked up five rebounds and had five assists with two turnovers in 34 minutes, shooting 5-for-6 at the line. Jalen Suggs also finally had a nice game alongside him with 21 points on 6-for-14 shooting. Anthony lost a large chunk of his rookie campaign to injury last season but has come back strong to average an 18-7-5 line early in the year. He and Suggs should enjoy another fine night on Saturday against a pacy Pistons team that struggled to slow down guards.

Mon Oct 25 202108:06Cole Anthony Records First Career Double-Double
Orlando Magic point guard Cole Anthony led the way in Sunday's 110-104 win over the Knicks, recording his first career double-double with a team-high 29 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. He also dished out eight dimes and picked up one steal with one turnover in 35 minutes. Anthony nailed five treys with nine attempts and shot 9-for-16 overall from the field with a 6-for-7 effort at the line. The 21-year-old had opened the campaign with a pair of shocking shooting performances, so this should be a nice boost to his confidence. He'll need all the confidence he can get for Monday's touch matchup versus Miami. The Heat have been very stringy to opposing point guards so far, giving up a league-low 21.3 points per 48 minutes and limiting them to 32 percent shooting.

Thu Jul 29 202122:12Magic select Jalen Suggs at No. 5, Franz Wagner at No. 8
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — When the Orlando Magic’s hopes of moving up in the NBA draft never materialized, they instead used their picks to select former Gonzaga star Jalen Suggs fifth and German forward Franz Wagner eighth. Owners of two top-eight picks for the first time in franchise history, the Magic had hopes of packaging those selections and moving into the draft’s top four. However, when they failed to find a trade to their liking, the Magic stood pat and chose Suggs and Wagner. “It was a great night for the Magic,” Orlando President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman said. “We added two talented, high-character, team-oriented players. It’s not often you get to add, not one, but two of these guys on the same night.” Suggs, the USWBA National Freshman of the Year, famously banked in a winning, half-court shot in the NCAA Final Four semifinal game against UCLA. Suggs was excited to hear that fans at the Magic’s draft party erupted with joy when his name was called at No. 5. “It means... [More]
Mon May 17 202116:56Next season has already started for rebuilding Orlando Magic
For the Orlando Magic, next season doesn’t start in October. It started in March. The next season — the next chapter, really — for the Magic began when the trade-deadline frenzy of March 25 happened, the day when Orlando traded away Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier in a series of moves that clearly ushered in a total reboot of the team and its core. Injuries held the team back, and when the offers arrived to bring in young players, draft picks or both, the Magic couldn’t say no. So, they said farewell to Vucevic — one of the best players in Orlando history — and started anew. “Listen, it’s the toughest season I’ve ever been through,” Magic coach Steve Clifford said. “I go back and think about the excitement around our team, that we could be the surprise team because of continuity. We had played well at the end of the year before, we had a lot of guys coming back, other teams did not, and as it played out the East isn’t as good as it was. ... But we were never able to sustain... [More]
