Sat Feb 25 202307:54LaMelo Ball Notches A Double-Double With Rebounds
Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball recorded his fifth consecutive double-double on Friday against Minnesota and this time with rebounds, adding 10 boards to a game-high 32 points in a 121-113 win. He came two assists short of a second consecutive triple-double and had two steals in the game with three turnovers in 40 minutes. Ball hit 5-for-9 from deep and was 11-for-21 from the field overall with his shot attempts. Charlotte's young star has finally been able to enjoy an injury-free run, last missing a game on Jan. 24, and we have seen his full potential again. Thu Feb 16 202310:56LaMelo Ball Notches Third Triple-Double Of The Year
Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball recorded his third triple-double of the year in Wednesday night's 120-110 win over the San Antonio Spurs. In 39 minutes, Ball logged 28 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal. The 21-year-old shot 10-for-26 from the field, 5-for-15 from deep and a perfect 3-for-3 from the line. With the departure of Mason Plumlee, the Hornets new starting center Mark Williams has been very productive. Williams logged 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in 30 minutes. Somehow, Williams is only rostered in 10.9 percent of ESPN leagues. Williams has recorded 24-plus fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he should be considered a viable streaming option in all formats and a solid waiver addition.

Tue Feb 14 202308:07LaMelo Ball Posts A Big Double-Double Versus Atlanta
Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball thoroughly enjoyed his battle with Trae Young and the Hawks on Monday, guiding the team to a 144-138 victory with a game-high 30 points and 15 assists. He was also able to collect six rebounds and shot an outstanding 6-for-10 from downtown with a 12-for-19 overall record from the field. Ball has hit top gear lately, going on a run of three consecutive double-doubles. He matched his career high with 15 assists on Monday and it was his fifth 30-point effort of the season. Ball should be around the same numbers again in the next matchup against the Spurs, who have one of the poorest defensive records in the league against points guards and who are also giving up the ninth-most assists to the position.

Marcus Smart Injury Update

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. Sat Jan 21 202300:36LaMelo Ball Doubtful Against The Hawks
Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (ankle) is doubtful ahead of Saturday's game against the Hawks. The 21-year-old injured his left ankle during Wednesday's showdown with the Houston Rockets, requiring assistance to the locker room. Ball has already missed 24 games this season for the same ailment, so he may be out for an extended period. However, until Ball can return, Terry Rozier is the favorite to be the top producer on the offensive end. At the same time, Dennis Smith Jr., who averaged 10.0 points, 6.5 assists, and 1.9 steals in 11 starts in 2022-23, should take over at the one spot.

The 21-year-old has missed 24 games in total throughout the 2022-23 campaign after tweaking the ankle on two separate occasions. Wed Jan 18 202321:58LaMelo Ball Won't Return On Wednesday
Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (ankle) won't return to Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets. The young guard left in the third quarter due to a right ankle injury. However, Ball returned to the contest and ended up injuring his left ankle shortly after that. This is certainly alarming to fantasy managers considering Ball has already missed time this season due to ankle injuries. His absence would make Dennis Smith Jr. a popular fantasy option. Fantasy managers will have to check back for an update on Ball in a day or two. In the meantime, fantasy managers should keep Smith on their fantasy radar.
