Wed Mar 9 202219:50Christian Wood, Jae'Sean Tate Out On Wednesday
The Houston Rockets will be without center Christian Wood (illness) and forward Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. This will be Wood's second game out due to an illness. Tate, meanwhile, will miss his first game due to left ankle soreness. We should see Alperen Sengun and Kenyon Martin Jr. earn some extra opportunities on Wednesday. Sengun in particular is an intriguing streaming option or DFS play. He went for 13 points and eight boards over 30 minutes in Monday's game.

Wed Mar 9 202209:24Christian Wood, Jae'Sean Tate Questionable To Play Wednesday
Houston Rockets center Christian Wood (illness) and power forward Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) have been deemed questionable to suit up for Wednesday's game vs. the Lakers. Wood missed Monday's outing due an illness, having previously ripped off double-doubles in two straight contests. Tate has been a staple of Houston's starting five, but he has seen his minutes dip over the past five games (21.4 on a nightly basis), damaging his fantasy appeal. Alperen Sengun and Kenyon Martin Jr. would both stand for elevated roles if either Wood or Tate is ultimately held out, while Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green could see even more offensive usage funneled in their direction if Wood remains sidelined. Check back prior to tip-off to get word on the banged up Rockets.

Wed Mar 2 202221:40Jae'Sean Tate Ruled Out With Ankle Soreness
Houston Rockets guard/forward Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz due to left ankle soreness. Prior to leaving the game, he played 11 minutes and shot 3-for-6 from the field, hitting three three-pointers while compiling nine points and one assist. We should have more specifics on Tate's injury after the game or on Thursday. The Rockets have Thursday off before returning to the court against the Denver Nuggets on Friday. Kenyon Martin Jr. and David Nwaba are two of the players who could benefit if Tate were to miss time.

Sat Jan 1 202207:34Jae'Sean Tate Leads Rockets In Scoring Against Miami
Houston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate returned to action in a bench role on Friday against the Heat, but he put together a great performance in 25 minutes off the pine, scoring a team-high 22 points in a 120-110 loss. He hit two three-point bombs with three attempts and shot 9-for-15 overall from the field with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. This was the first game of the season in which Tate didn't start. He was back on the court after missing two games because of COVID-19 protocols. The 26-year-old is a very versatile player and he should be rolling with the starters again soon.

Fri Dec 31 202118:52Jae'Sean Tate To Come Off The Bench
Houston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate will come off the bench during Friday's game against the Miami Heat. Head coach Stephen Silas found out shortly before the game that Tate has cleared COVID-19 protocols. That being said, Tate will come off the bench for this game, but will likely move into the starting five after this. Fantasy managers should check and see if Tate is available on the waiver wire. He is looking like a strong breakout candidate for the second half of the season.

Fri Dec 31 202118:05Jae'Sean Tate Set To Return On Friday
Houston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate has been cleared to play on Friday against Miami. He entered the league's COVID-19 protocols at the start of the week alongside Kenyon Martin Jr., and the duo missed two games. Martin is also available on Friday and David Nwaba and Josh Christopher have earned starts this week, but they will now take on lesser roles. Tate is the glue guy for the Rockets and does a bit of everything for his side. He's fifth in scoring, second in rebounding and third in assists on the team.

Mon Dec 27 202118:47Jae'Sean Tate, Kenyon Martin Jr. Land In COVID-19 Protocols
Houston Rockets power forwards Jae'Sean Tate and Kenyon Martin Jr. have been placed in the league's health and safety protocols, ruling them out indefinitely, including for Monday's game against Charlotte. The absence for Tate will mark his first of the season, as he has enjoyed a scoring increase during December, sitting at 13.6 points per game across 13 contests. Martin has carved out a niche as an integral part of Houston's second unit, having scored in double figures (with one double-double) in six straight games from Dec. 13-22. Their absences at the four have paved the way for David Nwaba to start there, with Daniel Theis and Usman Garuba also candidates to see increased run.

Thu Dec 2 202110:39Jae'Sean Tate Goes Into Beast Mode Wednesday Night
Houston Rockets guard/forward Jae'Sean Tate produced a phenomenal performance against OKC on Wednesday, leading his team to a 114-110 victory with a career-high 32 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and five blocks. He shot 11-for-15 from the field and 9-for-10 at the foul line. A lot of the Rockets offense ended up going through Tate after Christian Wood made an early exit with an ankle sprain. Tate averages 12 points for the campaign, so this was likely just a one-off thing, but there will be more touches available if Wood is forced to miss time. Houston already has Jalen Green (hamstring) out and it looks like John Wall isn't coming back after all, so there are currently a lot of opportunities for guys who are in the lineup.

Sat Nov 20 202120:05Jae'Sean Tate Does Something Of Everything For Houston
Houston Rockets guard/forward Jae'Sean Tate recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards in Saturday's loss to the Knicks and collected three assists, one steal and two blocks. He shot 5-for-12 from the field and 1-or-5 from behind the arc, while committing three turnovers in 31 minutes. Tate rarely does anything spectacular, but he always finds ways to stay involved in the game and such all-around lines have been pretty common with him. The Ohio State product is having a strong November, but the Rockets sadly can't compete on most nights and thus Tate ends up playing less than 30 minutes quite often, which limits his productivity.

Mon Nov 8 202104:07Jae'Sean Tate Grabs Second Double-Double This Season
In a 120-107 loss on Sunday, Houston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate was a box-score bright spot for the franchise. With a team-high 33 minutes, the forward recorded a season-high 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting, with 10 rebounds, two three-pointers, and nine trips to the free-throw line. It was his second double-double of the season, and he's really coming around in November. The second-year player has played at least 31 minutes in all four games this month, and he's recorded double-digits in scoring and at least five rebounds in every contest. Houston doesn't play again until Wednesday and then two more to close out the weekend on Friday and Sunday, so Tate could be a late-week add if you are in desperate need of rebounds at the end of Week 4.

Tue Nov 2 202114:39Jae'Sean Tate Could Miss Tuesday's Game
Houston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The organization is calling it right ankle soreness, so it doesn't sound too serious. Tate is off to a rough start after posting a strong rookie campaign last year. Often times, Tate is struggling to get into the 20s in minutes and is becoming a tough player to hold in fantasy formats. His absence would likely mean more playing time for David Nwaba and Jalen Green.

Mon Nov 1 202120:34Jae'Sean Tate Questionable Against Lakers
Houston Rockets forward Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's rematch with the Lakers. Tate picked up the ankle injury at some point during Sunday's loss to Los Angeles, as he was limited to just 18 minutes. If Tate misses the game, Eric Gordon and David Nwaba could see increased minutes. Coming off of knocking down four three-pointers, Gordon could be a prime DFS candidate. Nwaba is also appealing for his sneaky steals upside.

Sat Oct 23 202100:43Jae'Sean Tate Packs Stat Sheet With Double-Double
Houston Rockets small forward Jae'Sean Tate was dynamic during Friday's win over the Thunder, stuffing the box score to the tune of 16 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, earning himself a game-high plus-28. Named an NBA first-team All-Rookie last year, Tate had a quiet opening-night performance, one which he quickly flipped the script on. There may be flashier upsides plays for Houston on a nightly basis due to their rebuilding roster, but Tate has proven to be a multi-category darling with high field-goal percentage in tow as well. Rostered in a stunningly low number of leagues in the early going, it wouldn't be surprising to see Tate play his way into medium-sized or larger formats on a consistent basis as the year progresses.

Sun Oct 10 202118:05Jae'Sean Tate Probable For Monday's Game
Houston Rockets small forward Jae'Sean Tate (back) is likely to start in the team's preseason game against the Toronto Raptors on Monday. Tate has been dealing with a sore back and he wasn't able to play in the team's most recent preseason game this past Thursday. The 25-year-old is coming off of a fantastic rookie year. He played about 29 minutes per game last year and averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 50.6% from the field. He's a great late-round target in fantasy leagues this fall as he should provide solid stats across the board.
