Thu Oct 5 202320:30Ayo Dosunmu Could Become Starter
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu recently signed a three-year deal with the organization. The former second-round pick is expected to be in the mix for the starting point guard spot. The expectation is that Dosunmu will compete with Jevon Carter and Coby White for the starting gig ahead of the season opener on October 25th. On paper, Dosunmu's stats haven't improved much since his rookie campaign. However, he continues to get 25-plus minutes in the rotation and is a decent contributor. A move to the starting five could slightly increase his fantasy value, but we'll wait and see what happens during camp.

Sun Aug 20 202309:32Bulls Expect "Good Things" To Happen To Ayo Dosunmu
Chicago Bulls shooting guard Ayo Dosunmu has received the backing from general manager Marc Eversley to bounce back from a lackluster campaign in 2023-24. "He would not argue with me; he didn't have quite the second year he thought he might've. Call it a sophomore slump," Eversley said on the "Bulls Talk Podcast". "But we've seen him in the Advocate Center and how hard he has worked from the end of the season to today and there's nothing but good things that are going to happen to him." Dosunmu had more starts than his rookie campaign in 2022-23, but his numbers dropped in almost all categories as the Chicago native finished with 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. The Bulls need a bigger contribution from him, and at least Eversley appears convinced that Dosunmu can provide it.

Sun Jul 30 202309:32Ayo Dosunmu Eager To Bounce Back Next Season
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu had an underwhelming sophomore season in the NBA, but he's always been a great third-year performer and will look to prove it again in 2023-24. "Just trying to learn from my mistakes," Dosunmu told Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic. "Understand the success I had my rookie year and then the stagnant play or the tough road I had a little bit in my sophomore season. My junior year in all of my basketball career has been my best season from high school to college. It's always been the season where I took the next step. So I'm excited. I know the work that I put in and what I will show. I'm just ready for it." The 23-year-old, who recently signed a three-year, $21 million extension with his hometown team, posted 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 26.2 minutes last season, starting 51 of 80 games. He's hoping to lock in a starting spot again in a battle versus Cody White and Jevon Carter.

Fri Jul 21 202318:10Ayo Dosunmu Returning To Chicago
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu was a restricted free agent until he agreed to a three-year deal worth $21 million according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Surprisingly, there weren't any other teams to throw an offer sheet at Dosunmu even though he's just 23 years old. Last year, with the Bulls, he averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 49.3% from the floor and 31.2% from beyond the arc. Dosunmu was thrust into a starting role early on as Coby White struggled to keep his role and Lonzo Ball is still struggling with health issues. Dosunmu is good to keep around as a late addition in deeper category leagues.

Wed Jul 19 202317:50Raptors A Likely Option For Ayo Dosunmu
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu is still a restricted free agent after the team didn't extend his contract from his rookie deal. According to Dan and Jason Bernstein from 670 The Score, the young combo guard doesn't believe he'll be returning to Chicago while the Toronto Raptors have shown interest in picking him up. Lonzo Ball won't be playing this season, so the Bulls would be rolling with Jevon Carter, Coby White, Alex Caruso, and Dalen Terry as their main guard options. Meanwhile, the Raptors lost Fred VanVleet and added Dennis Schroder. So, Dosunmu could very well challenge Schroder for starter's minutes next season if he does move to Toronto.

Sun Jun 18 202310:12Ayo Dosunmu Set To Receive "Reasonable" Extension
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu is expected to get a "reasonable" 2-3-year extension, according to Sam Smith of bulls.com. The Chicago native has finished his second season in the league and is a restricted free agent with a $5.2 million qualifying offer. Dosunmu had an underwhelming campaign for the Bulls and Smith believes that he has "limited market value" because of it. The 23-year-old averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 26.2 minutes per game, making 51 starts. He has failed to impress, but Smith notes that Dosunmu is well-liked by the coaching staff and management, which is one of the key factors that will allow Dosunmu to develop his game in his hometown.

Fri Dec 16 202216:43Ayo Dosunmu Earns Questionable Tag For Friday’s Game
Chicago Bulls point guard Ayo Dosunmu (pelvis) has been listed as questionable to suit up for Friday's contest against the Knicks due to a pelvic contusion that he sustained last weekend. Dosunmu was held out of the first meeting with New York on Wednesday due to the ailment, with Coby White, Goran Dragic and Alex Caruso all in the mix to garner additional run. Dosunmu had been a fixture of the Bulls' starting five over the season's first month-plus, averaging 10.2 points per game while shooting 51.7 percent overall. The second-year guard has found himself on the verge of season-long roster consideration in medium-sized or larger formats, although he'll need a clean bill of health before managers can feel confident deploying him on a nightly basis.

Mon Dec 12 202207:30Ayo Dosunmu Gets Hurt In Sunday's Loss
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu left Sunday's 123-122 overtime loss against Atlanta with an abdominal contusion. He took a hard fall in the second quarter and ended up logging only 14 minutes. The 22-year-old managed to post two points in limited playing time with two rebounds, three assists and one steal. Javonte Green, who returned from a knee problem, started the second half in Dosunmu's place. He didn't have much of an impact, though, and even committed more turnovers (4) than he had points (2) in 14 minutes. With Alex Caruso (back), Coby White entered the frame and had one of his best efforts of the season with 12 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in 31 minutes. He could become an intriguing pickup for fantasy managers if Dosunmu and Caruso remain out for the next game.

Wed Nov 30 202221:01Alex Caruso, Ayo Dosunmu To Play Wednesday
Chicago Bulls guards Alex Caruso (ankle) and Ayo Dosunmu (knee) will suit up for Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. Caruso has been battling through foot and ankle issues recently, but will play through the pain here. The expectation is that he'll have his normal role in the rotation. He'll be a decent streaming option in deep leagues. Dosunmu's return should mean that Coby White returns to his normal role and won't see a boost anymore.

Tue Nov 1 202218:39Ayo Dosunmu Will Play Against Brooklyn
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu (chest) will play Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets. Dosunmu will end up only missing one game with his ailment as he makes his way back into the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest. Alex Caruso started in Dosunmu's absence, but with Chicago's backcourt healthy, Caruso will likely move back to the bench.

Mon Oct 31 202222:09Ayo Dosunmu And Coby White Questionable Tuesday
Chicago Bulls guards Ayo Dosunmu (chest) and Coby White (quad) are both questionable to play Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets. Dosunmu missed last game and lead to a spot start from Alex Caruso while White played about 21 minutes off the bench. If both are unable to go, Caruso should remain in the starting lineup and Goran Dragic should see an increased role off the bench.

Sat Oct 29 202219:29Ayo Dosunmu Out On Saturday
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu (chest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 22-year-old has been cleared of a concussion after Friday's game. However, it appears he is still dealing with a chest contusion from the incident during Friday's contest. Hopefully, this is only a one game absence and Dosunmu can return after Saturday's game. In the meantime, Coby White and Alex Caruso will both significantly benefit with almost 30 minutes up for grabs. Both players should worth a look for Saturday's slate.

Thu Oct 6 202222:47Ayo Dosunmu May Start Until Lonzo Ball Returns
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu may start this season until Lonzo Ball (knee) returns. Dosunmu was selected in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. He played well in his 77 games as a rookie. However, the 22-year-old was much more productive in 40 appearances in the starting lineup, averaging 10.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.6 rebounds. Dosunmu has an excellent outlook moving ahead, and though he likely won't be a routine contributor this season for redraft or category participants, dynasty managers should remain patient.

Mon Oct 3 202211:30NBA Draft Analysis: Second-Round Rookies to Watch Early for Fantasy Basketball
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace, that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence. ... Sat Mar 12 202209:51Nikola Vucevic, Ayo Dosunmu Probable For Saturday
Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic (hamstring) and guard Ayo Dosunmu (groin) are listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both players are expected to suit up despite dealing with minor injuries. Although, Tristan Thompson would be asked to start, assuming Vucevic is out. Thompson isn't a great fantasy option, but is a decent rebounding option. Javonte Green would see a boost in value if Dosunmu is unable to play. Green could have low-end streaming appeal with increased playing time.

Sat Feb 19 202221:29Ayo Dosunmu Suffers Injury During All-Star Weekend
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu (thumb) is in danger of missing time after suffering an injury during Friday's Clorox Rising Stars event. It sounds like Dosunmu suffered the injury while attempting to block a shot and hit his hand on the rim. The Bulls don't play again until February 24 versus the Atlanta Hawks. The hope is that Dosunmu won't be forced to miss any action due to this issue. Otherwise, Coby White and Javonte Green are likely to benefit the most. Fantasy managers should get another update on his status in a few days.

Fri Feb 11 202219:38Chicago Clears Ayo Dosunmu To Play Friday
Chicago Bulls point/shooting guard Ayo Dosunmu (concussion) has been deemed active for Friday's contest against Minnesota, having cleared the league's concussion protocol. Dosunmu missed just one game, which allowed Coby White to slide into the starting five. Since taking over the starting point guard reins, Dosunmu has averaged 11.6 points and 6.7 assists, while shooting 51.6 percent overall, including 40 percent from behind the arc. Including his minutes allotment (37.4 per game) in that span, Dosunmu has played his way into must-roster territory in all season-long formats for as long as Lonzo Ball (knee) is sidelined. With the Timberwolves entering the night tied for the league's fastest pace, Dosunmu will have considerable DFS upside as well.

Thu Feb 10 202221:38Ayo Dosunmu Tagged As Questionable For Friday
Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu (head) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was held out of Monday's contest due to a concussion. His absence led to Coby White getting a spot start. White played heavy minutes during that contest and would likely be asked to again, assuming Dosunmu sits out. Fantasy managers should expect another possible 40-minute outing from White if Dosunmu isn't cleared before game-time on Friday.
