Sat Sep 8 201222:53De Vries impressive in victory over Indians
Cole De Vries was impressive in Saturday's victory over the Indians, scattering four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings.
De Vries also punched out two. He's been the Twins best pitcher over the past month, posting a 3-1 record, 1.54 ERA and 13/4 K/BB ratio in his last four starts (spanning 23 1/3 innings). He'll look to extend his string of impressive performances when he squares off against the Royals at home on Thursday.

Sun Aug 26 201219:47Cole De Vries picks up third win
Cole De Vries held his own in Texas on Sunday, allowing just two runs (one earned) on three hits in five innings of Minnesota's 6-5 victory.
De Vries struck out five and walked none in improving to 3-5. Today was the sixth time in 10 starts since joining the Twins rotation on July 8 that De Vries allowed two or fewer runs. He's been shaky enough in his other outings to own a 4.68 ERA through 75 frames, however. He'll get the Royals in Kansas City on Friday.

Wed Aug 15 201216:36Cole De Vries gives up four runs to Tigers
Cole De Vries had another rough outing Wednesday, surrendering four runs in four innings against the Tigers.
Miguel Cabrera and Delmon Young homered off him, bringing his total to 16 homers allowed in 64 1/3 innings this season. Maybe he'll finish out the season in Minnesota's rotation, but he's not someone who is going to survive as a starter for the long haul.

Sat Aug 11 201200:15De Vries obliterated in loss to Rays
Cole De Vries was obliterated in Friday's loss to the Rays, allowing seven runs on seven hits in just 1 1/3 innings of work.
De Vries struck out one and didn't issue a walk in the abbreviated outing. Matt Joyce blasted a two-run homer in the first inning, then the Rays broke the game open by adding six additional runs in the second. With the poor outing, De Vries falls to 2-3 on the season and saw his ERA rise to an unimpressive 4.77. He'll try to put this one behind him and get back on track when he takes on the Tigers at home on Wednesday.

Mon Jul 9 201200:44Cole De Vries goes seven scoreless
Cole De Vries shut out the Rangers for seven innings in a no-decision on Sunday.
De Vries left a 1-0 game and the Twins add two insurance runs afterwards, but he was denied the win when Brian Dozier and Glen Perkins combined to give up three runs in the ninth. It would have been his third straight win as a starter, with one relief appearance mixed in. We're skeptical he'll have any long-term success, but he should keep his rotation spot after the break.

Tue Jul 3 201214:17Twins recall RHP De Vries from Triple-A
Twins recalled RHP Cole De Vries from Triple-A Rochester.
De Vries had a 3.43 ERA and 15/7 K/BB ratio over 21 innings in four starts with the Twins earlier this season. It's not clear how he'll be used now that he's back, but we wouldn't be surprised to see him get another shot in the starting rotation.

Twins optioned RHP Cole DeVries to Triple-A Rochester.
Devries tossed five innings of one-run ball on Saturday night against the Royals, fanning six batters while issuing just one walk. But it was the second half of a doubleheader, and he was up as the 26th man.

Tue Jun 26 201218:17Twins likely to recall DeVries
The Twins are likely to recall Cole DeVries to start one half of Saturday's doubleheader.
DeVries surrendered 14 hits, six walks and 11 runs (seven earned) in 15 innings with the Twins earlier this season. He should be avoided in fantasy leagues if he is indeed called up to face the Royals on Saturday.

Tue May 29 201223:37DeVries tosses 5 shutout innings in ND
Twins rookie Cole DeVries tossed five shutout innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the A's.
He wasn't exactly good -- walking five and striking out one -- but this was certainly progress for the youngster after he allowed six runs (three earned) on six hits over five innings in his MLB debut against the White Sox on Thursday. Despite the unacceptable amount of free passes, DeVries allowed only two hits to the punch-less Oakland lineup. In 10 innings, the 27-year-old Minnesota native has a 2.70 ERA despite a 5/6 K/BB rate and 1.40 WHIP. Unless you play in a very deep AL-only league, stay away.

Tue May 22 201212:27Twins call up RHP DeVries from Triple-A
Twins purchased the contract of RHP Cole DeVries from Triple-A Rochester.
The Twins designated Jason Marquis for assignment on Tuesday, so DeVries will take his place on the active roster. The 27-year-old Minnesota native has a 4.01 ERA over parts of six seasons in the minors, including a 4.24 ERA and 37/7 K/BB ratio in 46 2/3 innings over eight starts at the Triple-A level this year. We're not expecting much in fantasy leagues.

Tue May 22 201210:34Twins to call up RHP DeVries from minnors
The Twins will purchase the contract of right-hander Cole DeVries prior to Tuesday's game.
He'll fill Jason Marquis' spot in the rotation beginning Thursday. DeVries, a Minnesota native, has a 4.24 ERA and 37/7 K/BB ratio in 46 2/3 innings over eight starts at the Triple-A level this year. He's no sure thing to stick, so the 27-year-old can be ignored outside of deeper AL-only leagues.
