The Nationals are hopeful that Chad Tracy's groin injury is merely a breaking up of scar tissue.
Tracy will be re-evaluated on Sunday. The Nationals haven't decided whether to put him on the disabled list, but he'll be inactive for at least the next couple games.

Chad Tracy went 3-for-4 and homered in a second straight game Saturday against the Phillies.
Tracy hit just one homer in 146 at-bats in 2010 before spending last year in Japan. Now back in the U.S. with the Nationals, he has two homers and eight RBI in 34 at-bats. It is nice to see him contributing, but it's doubtful he'll have any fantasy value once Adam LaRoche rejoins the lineup.

Chad Tracy was removed from Friday's game after being hit by a Kenley Jansen pitch.
An MRI revealed that Tracy suffered a bone bruise, so it could have been worse. The Nationals are listing him as day-to-day. Tracy is currently tied for the league lead with five pinch-hit RBIs.

Nationals manager Davey Johnson said that Chad Tracy will be in the starting lineup Saturday.
Johnson didn't specify whether he'll start at first or third base, but he has previously said that he wants to give Ryan Zimmerman a breather at some point. Tracy is 2-for-10 with a double and three RBI so far this season.

Chad Tracy will be on the Nationals' Opening Day roster.
Tracy signed a minor league contract with the Nats in December after spending the 2011 campaign in Japan. He batted just .250 (17-for-68) this spring, but injuries to Michael Morse and Rick Ankiel have opened a few spots on the Washington bench. Steve Lombardozzi, Brett Carroll and Xavier Nady have also made the Opening Day roster.

Tracy's batting average is now a more respectable .286 in 21 at-bats. He serves as organizational depth, well behind the Rockies' two veteran major league first basemen.

Rockies acquired 1B Chad Tracy from the Rangers for RHP Greg Reynolds; assigned him to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Tracy was a third-round pick in the 2006 draft, but failed to meet the hype in the Rangers' minor league system. The son of Rockies manager Jim Tracy, he'll look to jump-start his career with a change of scenery.

Nationals signed INF Chad Tracy to a minor league contract.
Tracy spent the 2011 season in Japan, playing for the Hiroshima Carp. The 31-year-old corner infielder batted .247/.306/.322 with one home run across 160 major league plate appearances in 2010 for the Cubs and Marlins.
