Ambriz is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery last September. The 26-year-old right-hander is a longshot to contribute at the major league level this season.

Hector Ambriz will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Friday.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum. It's unlikely that we'll see him back on a major league mound until the 2012 season. The 26-year-old right-hander posted a 5.59 ERA and 37/17 K/BB over 48 1/3 innings with the Indians this season.

Indians placed RHP Hector Ambriz on the 60-day disabled list with a sore right elbow.
Ambriz is scheduled to meet with Dr. Lewis Yocum this week about discomfort that he is feeling in his pitching elbow. He posted a 5.59 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP in 48-plus innings of the Tribe's bullpen this year.

Hector Ambriz will get a second opinion on his sore right elbow this week from Dr. Lewis Yocum.
Let's hope the visit is simply a precautionary one. Ambriz, 26, was officially shut down for the season on Tuesday after complaining of soreness in his throwing elbow. He had a 5.59 ERA and 37/17 K/BB ratio in 48 1/3 innings.

Indians activated RHP Hector Ambriz from the 15-day disabled list.
Ambriz, a Rule 5 pick from the Diamondbacks, will get a look in relief after allowing one run and striking out 15 in eight innings for Triple-A Columbus. He opened the season on the DL with elbow tendinitis.
