Tue Apr 23 201314:37Peguero could be activated Tuesday
Carlos Peguero is not in the lineup for Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday night.
With Franklin Gutierrez (hamstring) expected to be placed on the disabled list, the assumption is that Peguero will replace him on the active roster. The 26-year-old owns an underwhelming .191/.236/.367 batting line over 212 plate appearances in the majors, so he can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Fri Mar 1 201318:38Peguero homers in win over Rangers
Carlos Peguero went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Friday's win over the Rangers.
He also made a pair of excellent catches in the field. Peguero is now hitting .462 (6-for-11) with three home runs and four RBI through his first six games this spring. The Mariners' outfield will likely be too crowded for him to make the Opening Day roster, but he's at least doing his best to stay in the team's plans.

He finished the night 1-for-4. He's now hitting a highly disappointing .176/.192/.373 with two homers and seven RBI. Peguero's downfall continues to be his inability to make consistent contact, racking up 25 strikeouts in his 52 at-bats on the year.

Sun Sep 2 201219:25Carlos Peguero homers versus Angels
Getting his first start since his recall, Carlos Peguero went 2-for-3 and a homer Sunday versus the Angels.
The Mariners will have plenty of outfielders to give at-bats to this month, so it seems unlikely that Peguero will have any fantasy value. He entered the day as a .143/.163/.286 hitter with 23 strikeouts in 42 at-bats this season.

The powerful left-handed hitter slashed a meager .146/.167/.293 with one homer and three RBI in 41 at-bats with the Mariners earlier in the season. He also whiffed an astounding 22 times in the process. The power is certainly real, but Peguero will need to learn how to make consistent contact before he's a factor in fantasy leagues.

Tue Jul 24 201201:06Carlos Peguero goes hitless for Mariners
Carlos Peguero went 0-for-3 and struck out twice after replacing Ichiro Suzuki in right field for the Mariners on Monday.
After 24 at-bats, Peguero has five hits and 12 strikeouts. We wouldn't expect that ratio to change much if the Mariners intend to play him regularly in Ichiro's spot. He just doesn't make enough contact to be an asset.

Peguero is batting .293/.369/.633 with 18 homers and 41 RBI at Tacoma this season and has gone deep five times in his last five games. He swings and misses a ton, but Peguero has enough pop to help out in AL-only leagues if he can get some playing time.
