Wed Mar 18 201511:50Narveson reassigned to Marlins' minor-league camp Wednesday
Narveson was reassigned to the Marlins' minor-league camp Wednesday, Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Narveson spent the past season with the Yakult Swallows of Japan, posting a 4.53 ERA over 137 innings. He's typically served as a starter during his previous time in affiliated ball with the Brewers organization, but his easiest path back to the majors might be as a left-handed reliever. Look for the 30-year-old to see duty in that capacity at Triple-A New Orleans to begin the season.

Mon Aug 5 201321:25Chris Narveson likely to start Wednesday
Chris Narveson is expected to be called up to start on Wednesday in place of the injured Tom Gorzelanny (elbow).
Gorzelanny had to leave his last outing after being struck on the pitching elbow by a line drive. He hasn't been placed on the DL at this point, but the Brewers will need someone to fill in for him Wednesday, and it appears that Narveson is the choice. Narveson has pitched better at Triple-A Nashville of late, tossing seven shutout innings in his last outing. He'll need to be added to the 40-man roster.

Thu Jun 20 201320:14Chris Narveson removed from 40-man roster
Brewers activated LHP Chris Narveson from the 15-day disabled list, sent him outright to Triple-A Nashville.
Narveson would be in the Brewers' rotation by now if he was pitching better, but he's put up a 7.00 ERA over five rehab starts with Nashville. He still seems likely to get a chance eventually, but he obviously needs to pick it up.

The left-hander has yet to pitch five innings during any of his four rehab outings and has allowed 14 runs -- 12 earned -- over his last 11 innings. The Brewers need a starter for the upcoming week, but it appears that it will not be Narveson.

Mon Jun 10 201321:40Brewers unsure about Chris Narveson's role
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke is unsure what role Chris Narveson (finger) will fill when he's activated from the disabled list.
"We're going to have to look at it when the time comes," Roenicke said. Narveson is being stretched out as a starter and will make one more start before the Brewers decide what to do with him. It would be a surprise if he's not added to the rotation next week.

Chris Narveson (finger) is scheduled to face live hitters on Friday.
It will come after another successful bullpen session on Tuesday. If Friday's session goes well, Narveson will begin a rehab assignment early next week. "The finger felt good. Just kind of taking it day by day and see how it goes Friday against hitters," Narveson said. "You're just trying to prepare yourself and get your body ready to pitch again. I think you expect yourself to hit the ground running once you come back."

Chris Narveson (finger) threw a bullpen session over the weekend in Cincinnati and is scheduled for another one while the Brewers are in Pittsburgh.

Sat Apr 27 201319:38Chris Narveson plays catch on Saturday
Chris Narveson (finger) played catch on Saturday for the first time since spraining his left middle finger during a bullpen session on April 6.
He's still at least a few weeks away from returning, but it's a step in the right direction for Narveson. Once he is cleared to return, it's likely to be in a long relief role in the Brewers bullpen, making his fantasy upside extremely limited.

Fri Mar 29 201318:38Chris Narveson headed to Brewers' bullpen
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke announced Friday that Chris Narveson will begin the season in a long-relief role.
Roenicke indicated that it's purely as a precautionary move so that they can ease him back into action after recovering from last year's shoulder surgery. They believe that limiting his innings to begin the season would be in his best interest long-term That means that both Wily Peralta and Mike Fiers will begin the season in the rotation.

Mon Mar 25 201319:51Narveson knocked around in loss to A's
Chris Narveson was smoked for six runs over 3 2/3 innings Monday against the Athletics.
Ouch. Narveson gave up eight hits -- including a grand slam to Chris Young -- while walking five and striking out a pair. He now owns a 5.50 ERA this spring. While we wouldn't mind if he got booted from the rotation in favor of the newly-signed Kyle Lohse, it appears that the decision could will come down to either Mike Fiers or Wily Peralta.
