Presley will remain in the Astros' system, but is no longer part of the club's 40-man roster.

Presley went 3-for-12 with five strikeouts in his most recent stint in the majors, but the Astros decided to DFA the outfielder to clear room on the roster for Scott Feldman, who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move. With George Springer (wrist) officially placed on the DL, Presley will come up from Triple-A to see his first major league action of the season. The 29-year-old, who appeared in 89 games for Houston last season, is enjoying a strong year at Triple-A, slashing .308/.345/.392 with 35 RBI and 10 steals in 64 contests.

Presley is expected to be called up Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Reading between the lines, Presley's expected call up is likely an indication that George Springer will be headed to the disabled list. Presley has spent the duration of the season, to date, at Triple-A, where he's hitting .308 with 35 RBI, 12 doubles and 10 steals in 64 games.

Through 27 games for Triple-A Fresno, Presley is hitting .320/.343/.361 with 10 RBI, four steals and 11 runs scored.

Despite the seemingly nice start to his 2015 campaign, Presley only has four extra-base hits (all doubles) over 97 at-bats. While he's capable of playing all three outfield positions, he lacks upside with his bat and may end up spending all year at Triple-A.
