LHP Madison Bumgarner is set to make his sixth start Wednesday since returning from injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident in late April. Bumgarner is 1-2 with a 2.78 ERA during his five starts since coming off the disabled list. The 28-year-old southpaw is 8-2 with a 2.25 ERA in his 12 career starts against Chicago, including 5-0 with a 1.74 ERA in his last six outings.

LHP Madison Bumgarner (1-5) allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings in his fifth start since returning from the disabled list and took the loss Friday night as the Giants fell 2-1 to Arizona. He struck out seven, walked two and threw 104 pitches. Bumgarner missed 75 games after injuring his left shoulder in a dirt bike accident on April 20. "Whether I'm hurt or not hurt, I'm always trying to get better, and the same goes for right now," Bumgarner said. "I felt good the first start back. That's more or less getting back in the swing of things. I mean, I was jumping in when guys are in midseason form pretty much. So I really have to try to be on top of my game. That was the toughest part about it for me."
