Hatcher is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in four relief appearances with the Dodgers this season, giving up four hits and four walks (two intentional) in 3 1/3 innings. He has one hold and one blown save.

RHP Chris Hatcher gave up the game-losing home run to Arizona 1B Paul Goldschmidt on Tuesday, the second homer he has served up in four outings (3 1/3 innings) this season. "Our job is simple, it's to come out and put up a zero," Hatcher said. "We haven't done that recently. I know I haven't done that. I just need to make better pitches. The ball isn't going where I want, and I need to figure out why."

RHP Chris Hatcher was dealt his first blown save of the season Friday night when he gave up a two-run, game-tying home run to San Francisco Giants C Trevor Brown in the eighth inning of an eventual 3-2 loss. Hatcher was attempting to hold a 2-0 lead for Dodgers starter RHP Ross Stripling. Hatcher had just two blown saves all of last season while logging 13 holds and four saves.

Hatcher has allowed just two runs in his last 14.2 innings and it appears he's the preferred primary setup man for closer Kenley Jansen.

Hatcher has been a completely different pitcher since returning from a two-month oblique injury. He could see a save or two down the stretch once the Dodgers clinch the playoffs and start resting guys like Jansen.

Hatcher pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his third save of the season in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Hatcher likely only received the call for the save chance because Kenley Jansen was unavailable after pitching the last two days. After opening the season as the Dodgers' closer, Hatcher's early struggles resulted in him losing out on that role in quick fashion before Jansen (foot) returned from the DL in mid-May to reclaim it. Hatcher, who has turned in scoreless efforts in each of his last four appearances, will serve as one of Jansen's primary setup men down the stretch.

Hatcher (oblique) was activated from the 15-day DL on Friday, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.

An oblique strain has put Hatcher on the shelf since mid-June, but the right-handed hurler has been activated from the disabled list as of Friday. Hatcher struggled early this season, posting a 6.38 ERA with 19 strikeouts and seven walks across 18.1 innings. The Dodgers have yet to make a corresponding move on their 40-man roster.

Hatcher (oblique) will move his rehab assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma City this week, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.

Hatcher is expected to remain in the minors for the next two weeks, as his placement on the 60-day DL won't allow for him to rejoin the Dodgers until Aug. 14 at the earliest. The hard-throwing right-hander compiled a 6.38 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and 19:7 K:BB ratio over 18.1 innings for the Dodgers prior to being sidelined by the injury.

Hatcher (oblique) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Thursday.

Hatcher's transfer was procedural to open up a spot on the Dodgers' 40-man roster for their haul of players as part of a three-team trade with the Marlins and Braves. He hasn't pitched since June 14, so he'll now be eligible to rejoin the Dodgers in mid-August.

Hatcher (oblique) is set to make at least two more minor-league rehab appearances this week before rejoining the Dodgers, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hatcher has been sidelined since mid-June with the oblique strain, but returned to game action Friday with High-A Rancho Cucamonga, with whom he allowed two runs on three hits over his one-inning appearance. He's slated to toe the rubber in the minors again Monday and Wednesday, after which the Dodgers will assess if he's ready for an activation over the coming weekend.

After building up adequate strength in bullpen sessions at the team's spring training complex, Hatcher is now ready to begin pitching in minor league games. It's uncertain how many appearances he'll need after missing more than a month due to an oblique strain.

Hatcher (oblique) will head to the Dodgers' spring training facility shortly after the break for bullpen sessions and live batting practice, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.

Currently sidelined with an oblique injury, Hatcher will surely then go on a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the Dodgers' bullpen.

Hatcher was placed on the 15-day DL on Wednesday with an oblique strain, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

An MRI was ordered Wednesday after Hatcher reported feeling a "twinge" in his oblique during Sunday's outing. The results have not yet been disclosed, but Hatcher will require at least a couple weeks to recover. Scott Van Slyke (back) was activated to take Hatcher's place on the active roster.

Hatcher has a 6.91 ERA and 1.60 WHIP, though his 17:5 K:BB in 14.1 innings is relatively strong.

Still, Hatcher has failed in several high-leverage spots this year and could find his spot on the 25-man roster in jeopardy soon once Pedro Baez (pectoral) returns, which could happen in the next week or so.

Hatcher still appears to be the favorite for saves, particularly given he's allowed just two runs with a 13:2 K:BB in his last eight innings.

Kenley Jansen (foot) could be back within the next 10 days or so assuming his rehab outings go well. In the meantime, Hatcher will have some short-term value.

Hatcher was going to be used in a save situation Monday before the Dodgers extended their lead by three to 8-3 in the top of the ninth against the Giants.

Hatcher still came in and walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth. He's allowed two runs in his last six innings with an 11:2 K:BB since a rocky start and appear to be the heavy favorite for saves right now.

Hatcher imploded on Sunday, allowing three runs while retiring just one batter in a 7-4 win over Arizona.

After recording the save on Opening Day, Hatcher has had two brutal outings and now sports a 33.75 ERA. Safe to say he's not getting save chances any time soon.

Hatcher was tagged for four runs -- two earned -- on three hits while failing to record an out in the top of the ninth inning against the Padres on Tuesday night.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly was attempting to use his interim closer to shut down the San Diego in offense in a tie game with the hope of plating the winning run in the bottom of the frame. Instead, Hatcher was roughed up a day after he earned the save against San Diego in the opener. Having pitched on consecutive days, Hatcher's availability for Wednesday is up in the air, and it's no lock that Mattingly would turn to him if another save situation (or tie game in the top of the ninth) arises.

Joel Peralta earned the win in relief while pitching a scoreless eighth, perhaps offering an indication of the pecking order in the Los Angeles bullpen while Kenley Jansen is on the disabled list with a foot injury. The Dodgers haven't officially named an interim closer, but Hatcher appears to have the short-term upper hand.
