Wed Aug 31 202211:50Harrison Bader Begins Hitting Off Tee
New York Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader (foot) has resumed hitting off a tee and is in a "10-day ramp-up" to begin playing in minor league games, according to skipper Aaron Boone. Bader is slowly recovering and could make his debut for the Yankees in the middle of September. It's good news for the Bombers with the postseason approaching, but Bader is unlikely to help fantasy managers much the rest of the way. The 28-year-old played in 72 games for the St. Louis Cardinals before being dealt to New York at the Aug. 2 trade deadline, and he was hitting .256/.303/.370 with five home runs, 21 RBI, 35 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 264 plate appearances. When he's ready to play, he'll certainly give the Yankees a boost with his defense in center field and with his speed on the base paths.

Thu Aug 25 202222:45Harrison Bader Transferred To 60-Day Injured List
New York Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader (foot) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday. He has been sidelined since June 27 and is on track to return to the lineup sometime in September. The move to the 60-day injured list shouldn't impact his recovery timetable. The 28-year-old was hitting .256/.303/.370 with five home runs, 21 RBI, 35 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 72 games for the St. Louis Cardinals before being traded to the Yankees. Bader will begin a rehab assignment soon and will provide the Yankees outfield depth once activated. Fantasy managers searching for speed should continue to stash Bader in all league formats.

Tue Aug 23 202211:14Harrison Bader Ditches Walking Boot
New York Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader (foot) wasn't wearing a walking boot on his right foot on Tuesday. Bader has been out for six weeks while recovering from a season-long bout of plantar fasciitis. He's been on the injured list since July 26 and won't be back until sometime in September. "I definitely think I'll be here the first week or so of September. But I don't want to get ahead of myself and I don't want to get away from what they have (set up for me)," Bader said. Before he was shut down, the 28-year-old was hitting .256/.303/.370 with five home runs, 21 RBI, 35 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in 72 games for the St. Louis Cardinals. The speedster should be an upgrade over Aaron Hicks once he's healthy, and he's a major stolen base asset in fantasy, although it remains to be seen how much he'll run once he's back.

Tue Aug 2 202218:13Harrison Bader Headed To Yankees
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader has been traded to the New York Yankees. In exchange, the Cardinals will receive left-handed starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery. This is a trade that helps both parties right now as they continue to compete for playoff position. Bader is hitting .256/.303//.370 with five home runs and 15 steals in 72 games with St. Louis. It's uncertain if he'll get everyday at-bats in New York, but he should be able to continue producing fantasy value. There's a chance that his fantasy value actually increases in the Yankees hitter-friendly park, but that depends on playing time.

Mon Jul 25 202210:05Harrison Bader Seeking Second Opinion On Heel Injury
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader (heel) is currently in the midst of a rehab assignment at Triple-A, but he has been held out of action the past few days. He is dealing with a heel injury that he suffered while running during Friday's game. Bader first landed on the injured list in late June due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He had been trending in the right direction prior to this past weekend's injury. According to Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol, Bader is currently seeking a second opinion on his heel injury.

Sun May 29 202213:34Harrison Bader Sitting Out On Sunday
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader (illness) is not in the lineup on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers due to congestion and cold-like symptoms, according to manager Oliver Marmol. The Cards manager added that he's unsure if Bader has undergone a COVID test as of this moment. The team appears to just be playing it cautious with Bader and we should know more following the conclusion of today's game. Lars Nootbaar is starting in center field and batting eighth in place of Bader.

Sat May 28 202209:24Harrison Bader Swipes Two More Bags Friday
On Friday, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two steals in the Cardinals' 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Despite his low position in the St. Louis batting order, Bader now has 13 steals on the season. Coming into 2022, Bader's previous career-high in steals was 15 in 2018. With 13 steals, Bader is now tied for the MLB lead with Seattle Mariners' rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez. On the season, Bader is slashing a somewhat mediocre .255/.306/.372 line with four homers and 15 RBI. With just nine walks on the season, if Bader can increase his on-base percentage, he could add to those steal totals (assuming he continues to run wild on the basepaths) making him a must-start in all formats. As it stands right now, given his stolen base totals, he should be rostered in all formats.

Sat May 21 202218:08Harrison Bader A Late Scratch On Saturday
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader (illness) has been scratched from the starting lineup for Saturday's game against left-hander Jose Quintana and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dylan Carlson will now be covering center field for the game with Juan Yepez and Corey Dickerson as the team's corner outfielders. Bader reportedly felt lightheaded prior to the game. From the initial reports, it doesn't sound like anything major for Bader, so we'll consider him day-to-day for now. The 27-year-old has appeared in 37 games so far this year and he's slashing .240/.299/.344 with three home runs, 11 stolen bases, 11 RBI and 19 runs.

Sat May 14 202212:53Tyler O'Neill, Harrison Bader Not In Saturday's Lineup
St. Louis Cardinals outfielders Tyler O'Neill and Harrison Bader aren't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants. O'Neill has struggled at the plate recently and is 1-for-12 with five strikeouts over his last three games. Bader will sit for the second time over the team's previous three contests. Juan Yepez and Corey Dickerson will draw the start while O'Neill and Bader are out. Yepez has been one of the top pickups in fantasy so far. The 24-year-old is locked in at the plate, hitting .382 with two homers and four RBI over nine games since being called up. As for Dickerson, fantasy managers can avoid using the veteran as a streamer after hitting .192 across 22 games this season.

Wed May 11 202206:10Harrison Bader Hits Inside-The-Park Homer
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader went 1-for-3 with a two-run, inside-the-park home run in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. He crushed a ball into deep left-center field and flashed his elite speed for his third home run of the season. The 27-year-old is slashing .242/.318/.379 with three home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored, and seven stolen bases over 107 plate appearances in 2022. Bader continues to bat in the bottom of the Cardinals' order but has produced enough to remain a solid fantasy outfielder this season.

Sat Apr 23 202222:41Harrison Bader Swipes Three Bags In Saturday's Win
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader went 0-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, and three stolen bases during Saturday's 5-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He stole a career-high three bases, something no Cardinals player had done since Carlos Beltran in 2012. The 27-year-old is off to a slow start this season, slashing .195/.298/.268 with two RBI and four stolen bases over 13 games. Bader has power-speed upside and should provide fantasy managers with homers and steals, but not much else in 2022.

Sat Apr 2 202223:48Cardinals Extend Harrison Bader On Saturday
The St. Louis Cardinals have signed outfielder Harrison Bader to a two-year contract extension that covers his final two years of arbitration, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The deal is worth $10.4 million. Bader, 27, is coming off a productive 2021 in which he slashed .267/.324/.460 with 16 HRs, nine stolen bases, 45 runs, and 50 RBI over 103 games. He is mostly known for his glove but does have some fantasy value given his power-speed profile. Bader's projected to hit at the bottom of the Cardinals order but should provide 20 home runs and double-digit stolen bases in a full season. ATC projects him for 19 HRs and 12 SBs over 140 games, along with a .245 batting average. The former third-round pick is being drafted around pick 233 and he can give good value at that cost.

Wed Feb 23 202217:00Harrison Bader Hires New Representation
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader hired Vayner Sports to represent him moving forward, and he'll be repped by Greg Genske and Joe Mizzo. Bader is making the move from Ballengee Sports. The 27-year-old made $2 million in 2021 and has two years left on his deal with St. Louis. Last season was Bader's best, as he slashed .267/.324/.460 with 16 home runs, 50 RBI, nine stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 103 games (401 plate appearances). Although he had a career-low 21.2% strikeout rate, Bader's fortunate .306 BABIP isn't sustainable moving into next season. Bader could improve his home run power slightly, but his greatest assets are his speed and glove in the outfield.

Thu Sep 30 202112:45Harrison Bader Absent From Thursday's Lineup
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, according to MLB.com. Bader is a good bench option in most leagues, as he's put together a productive year at the plate thus far. In 99 games, he's slashed .267/.324/.458 with 15 HRs and eight stolen bases. With Bader on the bench, Dylan Carlson will shift to center, and Jose Rondon will start in right field and bat sixth. In limited action, Rondon has hit .280 with three home runs across 60 games. In 32 plate appearances against lefties this season, he's slashed .407/.500/.815 and is a streaming option with left-hander Brett Anderson on the hill for the Brewers.

Wed Jul 28 202100:51Harrison Bader Has A Huge Game On Tuesday
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Harrison Bader had an excellent game on Tuesday, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two doubles. He scored twice and drove in one run as well. Bader has always been excellent on defense, but he's figured out how to hit the ball this season and could be developing into the newest Cardinals superstar. Bader is hitting .301 with a .916 OPS and needs to be rostered and started in all formats at this point.
