Mon Aug 9 202118:15Andrew Benintendi Returns To Royals Lineup On Monday
Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi (shoulder) will return to the lineup batting fifth and playing left field on Monday against Jameson Taillon and the visiting New York Yankees. Benintendi exited last Tuesday's game with a left shoulder strain and was considered day-to-day. The 27-year-old left fielder is having an up-and-down season for KC, hitting .255/.306/.409 overall with 11 home runs, 38 RBI, and eight stolen bases on 76 hits with 41 runs scored. He could be a fantasy option in deep leagues, but nothing more.

Fri Aug 6 202120:07Andrew Benintendi Playing Catch
Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi (shoulder) played catch and was able to get some outfield work in on Friday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. Benintendi left Tuesday's contest prematurely with a left shoulder strain. He is day-to-day, but Royals manager Mike Matheny said that he could be available for tonight's game as a pinch-hitter. Benintendi's had an unspectacular first campaign with the Royals, slashing .258/.308/.414 with 11 HRs, 38 RBI, 41 runs, and eight stolen bases in 80 games. He's a below-average fantasy player and should only be a bench option in deeper leagues.

Tue Aug 3 202122:29Andrew Benintendi Suffers Shoulder Strain
Updating an earlier report, Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi (shoulder) exited Tuesday's game with a left shoulder strain, according to Lynn Worthy of the Kansas City Star. It's very possible that this injury could land him on the injured list, but managers should look for further updates after Tuesday's game. He's been a solid option in deeper formats this season, slashing .259/.307/.415 with 11 homers, seven steals, 38 RBI and 41 runs scored over 79 games. While he's out, expect Jarrod Dyson to see more playing time.

Tue Aug 3 202121:30Andrew Benintendi Exits With Apparent Injury
Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi (shoulder) exited Tuesday's game with an apparent shoulder injury, according to Anne Rogers of MLB.com. Benintendi injured himself while sliding into second base, and was seen holding his left shoulder as he walked off the field, with Jarrod Dyson entering the game as a pinch-runner. There's no word on the type of injury or severity, so for now managers should consider him day-to-day and look for updates on his condition later in the evening.

Thu Jul 29 202113:16Andrew Benintendi Is Not Starting Thursday
Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi isn't in the starting lineup for the final game of the team's series against the Chicago White Sox. Hunter Dozier has moved from third base to left field in place of Benintendi, with Hanser Alberto stepping in at third base against White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon. Dozier is hitting fifth while Alberto is batting seventh. Considering Dozier starts most days for Kansas City, this is essentially Alberto replacing Benintendi in the lineup. The infielder is batting .262 with a .282 on-base percentage, a home run, and a stolen base in 173 plate appearances this season. If you need streaming help on Thursday, you're probably better off looking elsewhere.

Wed Jul 28 202109:47Andrew Benintendi Goes 2-For-4 And Scores Twice On Tuesday
Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi had a strong offensive game in the team's 5-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. He went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. This was his second consecutive two-hit game as he went 2-for-4 with a home run on Monday. July has been a quiet month overall for Benintendi. Over 15 games this month, Benintendi is slashing .217/.226/.433 with three home runs, seven RBI and 10 runs. He's really cooled down after a strong May in which he slashed .340/.377/.443. He's batting .269 with a .253 xBA on the year. He can be rostered in five-outfielder leagues and AL-only leagues, but in other formats, he's fine to leave on waivers.
