Fri Aug 11 202318:24Luis Robert Jr. Out On Friday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. This news comes after Robert was removed early on Wednesday due to a sprained pinkie finger. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative, so Robert is currently considered as day-to-day. The hope is that Robert will be able to return at some point during the weekend series. In the meantime, Trayce Thompson will cover center field and bat seventh versus right-hander Corbin Burnes on Friday.

Wed Aug 9 202322:09Luis Robert Jr. Day-To-Day With Sprained Pinkie
Updating a previous report, Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (finger) was removed from Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees with a sprained pinkie finger on his right hand. X-rays came back negative and he's listed as day-to-day. Before leaving prematurely, Robert went 1-for-1 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases before being replaced in center field by Trayce Thompson. The White Sox have a scheduled off day on Thursday before beginning a series on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers, so it's possible Robert won't miss any time at all. The 26-year-old Cuban slugger is in the midst of a true breakout season in 2023, slugging 31 home runs, driving in 65, stealing 14 bases and scoring 74 runs in 112 games. Robert has been a must-start in all fantasy leagues.

Wed Aug 9 202321:27Luis Robert Jr. Removed Early On Wednesday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hand) was removed early during Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees. The 26-year-old appears to have possibly suffered a right hand injury while sliding into third base during a steal attempt. The team lifted Robert for a defensive replacement in the fourth inning. Possibly, the White Sox are just taking the cautious approach with their young slugger. Fantasy managers should get another update on his status shortly.

Thu Aug 3 202312:10Luis Robert Jr. Resting Against Rangers
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is taking the day off on Thursday against the Texas Rangers. Trayce Thompson (oblique), who was activated from the 60-day injured list on Thursday, will make his White Sox debut and start in center field and bat sixth against Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer. Robert was selected to his first All-Star team this year and has been the White Sox's best hitter this season. He's currently batting .267 (109-for-408) with a career-highs across the board in home runs (29), doubles (29), RBI (60), stolen bases (12) and runs scored (70) through 446 plate appearances and 106 games played. He's been a bit more slugging of late, though, going 7-for-30 with a homer, four doubles, three RBI, one steal and four runs scored in his last eight games.

Fri Jul 14 202316:06Luis Robert Jr. Ready To Go For Start Of Second Half
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (calf) is back in the team's lineup on Friday against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Charlie Morton for the start of the second half of the season. Robert is starting in center field and batting third. It's good to see after he didn't play in Tuesday's All-Star game after tweaking his right calf during the Home Run Derby on Monday. The 25-year-old is now fine to start the second half of the season after getting some much-needed time off to rest this week. Robert has been a must-start in all single-year fantasy leagues in 2023, slashing .271/.330/.569 with an .899 OPS, 26 home runs, 51 RBI, eight stolen bases and 62 runs scored in 339 at-bats. If he can remain healthy, this year will easily be his best in the big leagues, if it isn't already.

Tue Jul 11 202317:37Luis Robert Jr. To Skip All-Star Game Due To Sore Calf
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (calf) will skip Tuesday's All-Star game in Seattle as a precaution after feeling tightness in his right calf during the first round of Monday's Home Run Derby. Robert had an MRI exam in Seattle and is being listed as day-to-day. He will be evaluated again before the second half of the season starts for the White Sox on Friday on the road against the Atlanta Braves. Hopefully this doesn't turn into something that will put the 25-year-old on the injured list to begin the second half, but it doesn't sound too serious. The Cuban slugger made the All-Star team for the first time in his career in 2023 by hitting .271 (92-for-339) with a career-high 26 home runs, 23 doubles, 51 RBI, eight stolen bases and 62 runs scored in 375 trips to the plate. He's a must-start in all fantasy lineups if he's ready to play this weekend.

Sat Jul 8 202310:44Luis Robert Jr. Belts Clutch Homer In Win
Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. In an entertaining battle between two of MLB's most underperforming teams, the 25-year-old tied the contest 7-7 with a seventh-inning bomb. A bases-loaded walk later in the frame would give the White Sox the lead and ultimately result in the victory. After a quiet April, Robert is slashing .299/.367/.652 with 21 jacks, 37 RBI, and seven stolen bases over 252 plate appearances since May 2. The speedy slugger's MVP-level performance has represented a shining light on a dim array of vast Chicago disappointments. Fantasy managers hope Robert can stay healthy and deliver continued prosperity during the second half of the campaign.

Mon Jun 26 202312:11Luis Robert Jr. Leaves The Yard Twice Sunday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. did all the heavy lifting in Sunday's 4-1 win over the visiting Boston Red Sox on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored. Robert is now up to 21 home runs on the season and has been sizzling-hot in his last eight games, going 10-for-28 (.357) with four home runs, a double, six RBI and six runs scored in 31 trips to the plate. The 25-year-old Cuban slugger has always had the skills, but he's struggled with consistency, mainly due to injuries. Robert is putting it all together in 2023, though, and is now hitting .269 (77-for-286) with 21 long balls, 20 doubles, 42 RBI, four stolen bases and 51 runs scored for the White Sox in 76 games played. He's a must-start when he's active.

Sun Jun 25 202309:32Luis Robert Jr. Homers Again, Still Lacking RBI
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert connected on another round-tripper on Saturday night, going deep in the bottom of the sixth inning to help propel Chicago past the Red Sox by a score of 5-4. The home run was Robert's 19th of the season, and while the consistent power is a welcomed sign for fantasy managers, the RBI total of 39 on the season leaves a bit to be desired. Much of that can be attributed to the White Sox owning the 28th-best wOBA in the league to this point, and if Robert can keep up his 40-homer pace, odds are more of them will be with runners on base in the second half of the season. In fact, there's some room for power growth here, as logic suggests the center fielder can decrease his lofty 38.7% ground ball rate while ticking up his mediocre 30.9% hard-hit rate. There's certainly potential for a 50-bomb season in the 25-year-old's future. Along with his 19 homers and 39 RBI, Robert is hitting .262 with 49 runs and four stolen bases.

Sat May 27 202312:09Luis Robert Jr. Out Against Tigers
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Detroit Tigers. Robert dealt with tightness in his hip earlier in the week and didn't play on Wednesday, but this looks to be just a normal day of rest for the oft-injured outfielder. In the two games since his return, the 25-year-old has gone hitless in seven at-bats and will start on the bench on Saturday. Robert should be in most starting fantasy lineups whenever he's on the field, as he can do it all with the bat when he's healthy. He's currently hitting .263 (50-for-190) with 13 doubles, 13 homers, 29 RBI, two steals and 35 runs in 51 games. Clint Frazier is starting in center field on Saturday and is hitting eighth against Tigers right-hander Michael Lorenzen.

Thu May 25 202315:35Luis Robert Jr. Returns Against Tigers
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) is back in the starting lineup on Thursday against right-hander Alex Faedo and the Detroit Tigers. He's starting in center field and is hitting third in the batting order. Robert was pulled from Tuesday's game early due to tightness in his hip and was held out on Wednesday, but the injury was never serious and he's back in there on Thursday. The 25-year-old should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups. Robert is starting to heat up in the month of May and is now slashing .273/.328/.557 with an .886 OPS, 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 29 RBI, two stolen bases and 34 runs scored in 201 trips to the plate over 49 games played.

Wed May 24 202316:51Luis Robert Jr. Says He'll Play Thursday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) said he will play on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers. Robert was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians with tightness in his right hip and also didn't play on Wednesday, but he appears to be just fine and isn't expecting to land on the injured list. The 25-year-old oft-injured outfielder described the injury as more of a cramp, so he should be available this weekend. If he does indeed return on Thursday, fantasy managers will want him back in their starting lineups. Robert has been feasting at the plate in May, hitting .360 (27-for-75) with seven doubles, eight home runs and 16 RBI in 21 games to raise his season slash line to .273/.328/.557 in 201 plate appearances.

Wed May 24 202312:16Luis Robert Jr. Absent Against Guardians
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Cleveland Guardians. Robert exited Tuesday's game prematurely in the eighth inning due to right-hip tightness, and he's out on Wednesday as a result. The oft-injured 25-year-old is currently being considered day-to-day, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him miss more than one game this week. Given all the time Robert has missed in his career due to injuries, fantasy managers should prepare for the worst. Clint Frazier is manning center field and hitting seventh on Wednesday against Guardians right-hander Cal Quantrill. In 49 games so far this year, Robert is hitting a respectable .273 (50-for-183) with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 29 RBI and two stolen bases.

Tue May 23 202321:16Luis Robert Jr. Leaves Tuesday's Contest Early
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) was removed from Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians with hip tightness, according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. Before his exit, he was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. It isn't what fantasy managers want to hear, as Robert Jr. is putting up outstanding numbers, slashing .273/.328/.557 with 13 home runs, 34 runs, 29 RBI, and two steals across 49 games. The 25-year-old has yet to play more than 98 contests in a season due to injury troubles, and he's already dealt with a hamstring issue this year. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more news on Robert Jr.'s status.

Sun May 14 202309:19Luis Robert Jr. Stays White-Hot With Another Homer
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. went 2-for-4 with a four bagger, two RBI, and two runs scored in a win on Saturday against the Houston Astros. The 25-year-old is on a phenomenal run recently, raking to a .415 average (17-for-41) with five round trippers and 13 RBI across his last 12 games. He's been fantasy's number-one overall player in mixed roto leagues during this sizzling two-week hot streak. The former Gold Glover has just one stolen base in 2023, but fantasy managers will embrace the power surge with open arms. Robert is now slashing .268/.331/.537 this year. On Sunday, the speedy center fielder seeks to stay locked in versus Hunter Brown, who allows a .306 average to righties for his career thus far.

Sun Apr 30 202312:30Luis Robert Jr. Sitting Out Sunday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Sunday in the series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays. Robert is dealing with a minor hamstring injury and also was pulled early on Saturday for not running hard on the base paths. In his absence, Adam Haseley will start in center field for the White Sox and hit leadoff against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen on Sunday. The 25-year-old Robert has six doubles, five home runs, 13 RBI and a stolen base in 27 games played so far, but he's also hitting just .213 (23-for-108) with 33 strikeouts and only four walks in 114 plate appearances. Robert has all the skills to be a difference-maker in fantasy, but it hasn't been the start fantasy managers had hoped for.

Sat Apr 29 202321:26Luis Robert Jr. Benched In Saturday's Game
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. was removed from Saturday's game against the Rays in the second inning due to a managerial decision. It was initially reported that Robert was pulled due to an injury but was removed due to his lack of hustle on a grounder that could have been beaten out for a base hit. Oscar Colas replaced Robert in Saturday's contest. The White Sox are on a nine-game losing streak and well on their way to losing their 10th straight contest, as Chicago is down 10-3 in the seventh inning. Robert has had a slow April, slashing .213/.248/.407 with five home runs, 13 RBI, 14 runs, and a stolen base over 27 games. The 25-year-old might be benched for another game or two, and fantasy managers will need to continue to monitor the situation.

Mon Apr 10 202311:59Luis Robert Jr. Back In White Sox's Lineup
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is back in the team's starting lineup on Monday for the start of a series against the Minnesota Twins. Robert is patrolling center field and hitting second in the batting order against Twins right-hander Kenta Maeda. The 25-year-old slugger is returning to the starting lineup after getting a rest day in Sunday's series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Fantasy managers will want to get him back in their starting lineups immediately, as he's gone 15-for-41 (.366) with three doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs scored in his first nine games of the 2023 season. When healthy, Robert can be a difference-maker with his bat in fantasy leagues.

Sun Apr 9 202311:14Luis Robert Jr. Sitting Sunday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is not in Sunday's starting lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It will be Robert's first game off of the 2023 season. The 25-year-old Cuban has gotten off to a strong start this year, going 15-for-41 (.366) with three doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs scored in 42 plate appearances. When healthy, Robert has the potential to be an impact bat for fantasy managers this year. With Robert starting on the bench, Oscar Colas will move to center field and hit sixth, while Romy Gonzalez enters the lineup in right field and in the seven-hole against Pirates right-hander Johan Oviedo. Gonzalez is 2-for-10 with two strikeouts in his first four games played this season.

Thu Mar 23 202313:03Luis Robert Jr. Returns To Spring Lineup
Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is back in the team's Cactus League lineup on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants and left-hander Sean Manaea after playing for Team Cuba in the World Baseball Classic. Robert is manning center field and batting second in the lineup. The 25-year-old slugger went 7-for-27 with a double and four RBI for Team Cuba, and he returns to a poor .182 average (2-for-11) in just four spring games. Robert played in a career-high 98 games in 2022, so durability has been an issue for him in his three MLB seasons. But he hit .284/.319/.426 with a .746 OPS, 12 home runs, 56 RBI, 54 runs scored and 11 stolen bases last year when healthy. For his upside alone, Robert should be viewed as a top-15 fantasy outfielder.
