BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox have traded left-hander Roenis Elias to the Seattle Mariners for future considerations.The Red Sox announced the trade Monday.Elias was 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA in Triple-A Pawtucket this season. In 55 major league appearances, he is 15-21 with a 4.20 ERA.The 29-year-old native of Cuba was originally signed by Seattle as a free agent in 2011. RHP Jonathan Aro and LHP Wade Miley were acquired by the Mariners from the Red Sox in exchange for RHP Carson Smith and LHP Roenis Elias.Aro, 25, made his major league debut with Boston on June 25 and went 0-1 with a 6.79 ERA over 10 1/3 innings in six relief appearances with the Red Sox in 2015. The right-handed reliever combined to go 3-3 with two saves and a 3.04 ERA in 34 relief appearances combined between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket. |
