Tue Sep 1017:20Connor Norby Scratched From Marlins Lineup
Miami Marlins rookie infielder Connor Norby (undisclosed) has been scratched from the team's starting lineup on Tuesday at PNC Park against the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates for undisclosed reasons. Fantasy managers will want to check back for further updates on why Norby was scratched. The 24-year-old should be considered day-to-day for now. Jake Burger is starting at third and batting third, while David Hensley will start at first and bat eighth against Pirates right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski. Norby, who came over from the Baltimore Orioles in the trade that sent lefty Trevor Rogers to the O's in late July, has looked like the high-end prospect he is in his first 19 games for Miami this year, going 24-for-77 (.312) with six home runs, seven doubles and 13 RBI in 82 plate appearances. He has a bright future in the big leagues and already deserves love in mixed fantasy leagues.

Mon Sep 900:35Connor Norby Whacks Pair Of Homers
Miami Marlins second baseman Connor Norby continued to torch the ball on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI in a 10-1 win. Both of Norby's homers were two-run shots, with the first opening up the score in the first inning and the second breaking the game wide open in the third. The trade deadline acquisition has been fantastic since his move to Miami, belting six homers and hitting .329 in 73 at-bats. He looks to be a big part of the Marlins' future and might be a fantasy mainstay as well. He should be rostered in most leagues for fantasy playoffs.

Sun Sep 809:45Connor Norby With A Home Run And Three RBI On Saturday
Miami Marlins infielder Connor Norby kept on hitting on Saturday, going 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a 9-5 win over the Phillies. He's now collected at least one hit in 16 of 17 games since the Marlins called him up, posting a .319-4-9-16-2 line over that stretch. If there's something to be concerned about it is the high strikeout rate (33.0%) and below-average walk rate (4.7%) on the season between Baltimore and Miami, but that can be expected from a 24-year-old making his major league debut. Plus, he's marginally improved both during his time with the Marlins. Regardless, the former second-round draft pick looks like the real deal and should prove to be a solid contributor for the remainder of this season.

Sat Aug 2421:55Connor Norby Homers Saturday
Miami Marlins second baseman and outfielder Connor Norby hit his first homer for the team on Saturday in a 14-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs. Norby was traded to the Marlins by the Baltimore Orioles in the Trevor Rogers acquisition at the trade deadline. In 20 at-bats over the last week, Norby has six hits, with one home run, two RBI, one stolen base, and four runs scored. It appears that Norby will get an extended run in the daily lineup for the also-ran Marlins and that he could be a good source of counting statistics for the team.

Mon Aug 1900:26Connor Norby Called Back Up To Majors
Miami Marlins second base prospect Connor Norby is getting called back up to the big leagues. Norby was traded to the Marlins at this year's deadline and was then sent down to Triple-A, but after slashing .263/.300/.368 in 13 games the Marlins are bringing him up to the majors. Norby wasn't good in his two short appearances in Baltimore earlier this year, but he has good upside and should be able to hit for some power now that he's out of Camden Yards. The 24-year-old doesn't need to be added outside of the deepest of leagues, but keep an eye on him.

Wed Aug 1410:04Connor Norby Notches Hit In Eighth Straight Game
Miami Marlins second base prospect Connor Norby extended his hitting streak with Triple-A Jacksonville to eight games with a 1-for-4 performance on Tuesday. Norby, acquired from Baltimore at the trade deadline, has hit safely in eight of his nine games with the Jumbo Shrimp. The 24-year-old made his big-league debut and hit two homers in the majors with the Orioles before the trade. But he was assigned to Triple-A with Miami and has been making the most of his time with Jacksonville. The Marlins could give Norby an opportunity to return to the majors before the season ends.

Mon Aug 1221:36Connor Norby Hits First Homer Since Trade
Miami Marlins second base prospect Connor Norby went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Sunday for Triple-A Jacksonville, his first since being traded to Miami from the Baltimore Orioles. Overall, Norby has struggled with his new organization, slashing just .237/.293/.368 with three extra-base hits and 3:15 BB/SO through 41 plate appearances. Despite recent woes, he's still having an impressive season overall. In 97 total games this year, he's slashing .282/.366/.495 with 24 doubles, 19 homers, 63 RBI, 13 stolen bases, and 50:131 BB/SO. Norby has had two brief stints in the majors with Baltimore, but he's yet to make his Marlins debut.

Tue Aug 619:24Connor Norby Quiet Since Joining Miami
Miami Marlins second base prospect Connor Norby has gone 1-for-10 at the plate with six punchouts since joining the Miami Marlins organization. Norby was the headliner piece that sent left-handed pitcher Trevor Rogers to Baltimore at the deadline. However, at Triple-A Norfolk earlier this summer, the East Carolina product held an excellent .297/.382/.506 line with 16 home runs and 13 stolen bases. Through his brief nine-game taste of the big leagues, Norby posted a .188/.188/.406 slash line. Currently ranked as the number-five best prospect in the Marlins system on MLB.com, he should be in line to receive another look at the big leagues later this summer. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to Norby over the next few weeks, as he will need to improve his production before getting the call.

Wed Jul 3112:07Marlins Send Connor Norby To Triple-A
The Miami Marlins optioned infield prospect Connor Norby to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday after acquiring him on Tuesday from the Baltimore Orioles as part of the package that sent left-hander Trevor Rogers to Baltimore. Per MLB Pipeline, Norby slots in as Miami's No. 5 prospect after the trade. The 24-year-old is for real, but apparently the Fish want to give him some more time to develop in the minors before making him their everyday second baseman. Before the trade, he was serving as Baltimore's regular second baseman with Jorge Mateo (elbow) injured. Norby was hitting only .188/.188/.406 with two homers, a double and 12 strikeouts in his first nine big-league games in 2024, but his long-term power/speed upside has made him a high-end dynasty/prospect stash.

Tue Jul 3014:19Connor Norby Traded to Miami
The Miami Marlins acquired second baseman/outfielder Connor Norby along with outfielder Kyle Stowers in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles for pitcher Trevor Rogers on Tuesday. Norby was the Orioles' fifth-ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline and was hitting .297/.389/519 with 16 homers, 57 RBI, 71 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases with Triple-A Norfolk and hit .188/.188/.406 with two homers, three RBI, and three runs scored in nine games with the Orioles. He is a valuable asset in dynasty formats while NL-only fantasy managers will give Norby a long look as he bids for playing time in Miami.

Mon Jul 2915:07Heston Kjerstad, Connor Norby Out For Game 1 Of Doubleheader
Baltimore Orioles rookie outfielder Heston Kjerstad and second baseman Connor Norby will both start on the bench on Monday for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the visiting division-rival Toronto Blue Jays. Fellow rookie Colton Cowser is starting in left field and is batting leadoff, while Jordan Westburg will play second base and hit sixth against Blue Jays rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez. In Baltimore's crowded outfield, Kjerstad has been a part-time player and is hitting .277 (18-for-65) with three homers and 12 RBI in just 27 games played. Norby should return to duties at the keystone in Game 2 and is the O's primary second baseman with Jorge Mateo (elbow) set to miss significant time. The 24-year-old prospect has intriguing long-term upside but has gone only 5-for-28 (.179) with two homers, three RBI and 10 K's in his first eight MLB games in 2024.

Thu Jul 2509:28Connor Norby To Return To Orioles Lineup
The Baltimore Orioles are set to give infielder Connor Norby another big-league opportunity with Jorge Mateo to miss some time with an elbow injury. Baltimore manager Brandon Hyde confirmed on Wednesday night that Norby will "get some regular playing time". The 24-year-old second baseman got 14 at-bats earlier this season with the Orioles but has spent most of the season at Triple-A Norfolk. With Norfolk, Norby has hit .297 with 16 homers and 57 RBI. The No. 5 prospect in the loaded Orioles' system, Norby is worth a look in fantasy leagues as he fills in for Mateo as the regular second baseman.

Wed Jul 2416:31Connor Norby Could Join Orioles In Miami
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Connor Norby is headed to Miami as a precaution after infielder Jorge Mateo suffered an elbow injury on Tuesday during a collision with teammate Gunnar Henderson, according to a source. Norby, the team's No. 5 prospect per MLB Pipeline, made his big-league debut earlier this year but only appeared in four games and went 3-for-14 (.214) with a homer, two RBI and three strikeouts. The 24-year-old will make his return to the big leagues if Baltimore has to put Mateo on the 10-day injured list. The former second-round pick in 2021 out of East Carolina has hit .297/.389/.519 with a .908 OPS, 16 homers, 57 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 80 games for Triple-A Norfolk and could get more run at the keystone in Baltimore if Mateo goes on the shelf. Norby's power/speed combination makes him intriguing in all fantasy formats.

Fri Jul 1208:21Connor Norby Remains Stellar At Triple-A
Baltimore Orioles second base prospect Connor Norby went 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk on Thursday. This extended his current hitting streak to four games. Since July 1, the former second-round pick has posted a dominant .350/.386/.750 line with five home runs and 12 RBI. Norby got a brief four-game taste of the major leagues this season and tallied three hits and one home run across four games. Through 74 games at Triple-A Norfolk this season, Norby has posted a .294/.380/.532 line, which proves he is more than ready for a full-time major league role, but the Baltimore infield is quite crowded, which limits Norby's playing time. However, if a player in the majors were to get into a prolonged slump or get injured, Norby's name could be the first one called upon to fill in.
