Tue Aug 24 202118:36Anthony DeSclafani Could Return This Weekend
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) could return to the starting rotation by the end of the week. He suffered an ankle injury last Wednesday, but it doesn't appear to be too serious. The 31-year-old right-hander boasts a 3.26 ERA, 1.085 WHIP, and 123/36 K/BB ratio in 132 2/3 innings. Fantasy managers should continue to roster DeSclafani worth this minor injury. It doesn't sound like he'll need a rehab assignment and could pitch against the Atlanta Braves this weekend.

Sun Aug 22 202116:13Anthony DeSclafani Lands On 10-Day IL Sunday
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with right ankle inflammation, the team announced on Twitter. The move was made retroactive to August 19. DeSclafani exited his start on Wednesday with ankle soreness, and an MRI on Friday revealed no structural damage to his ankle. He's had a nice year on the mound so far, going 11-5 with a 3.26 ERA, 1.085 WHIP and 23 percent strikeout rate over 132 2/3 innings of work. To replace him on the roster, the Giants recalled pitcher Sammy Long from Triple-A Sacramento. Hopefully this shouldn't be too long of a stay for DeSclafani, as managers will miss having his arm in the lineup as we approach the fantasy playoffs.
