Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto smacked a mammoth 454-foot homer off Jon Gray Sunday, helping his team to a 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies. It was his only hit in four at-bats. Soto manages to continue to contribute across the board, despite the fact that opposing pitchers seem determined to pitch around him. With a .356/.522/.614 slash line in his last 30 games, Soto is a rare set-it-and-forget-it player for fantasy managers.

Washington Nationals first baseman Josh Bell continued his excellent season Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, reaching in all four plate appearances against the Colorado Rockies. He went 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored, though he was thrown out on the bases trying to stretch one of his singles into a double. Bell leads the Nationals with 27 home runs, and he has slashed .315/.439/.593 with eight homers in his last 30 games. He needs to be active in all fantasy lineups the rest of the way.

Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan locked down his 10th save of the year Sunday, allowing one walk and striking out one in an inning of work against the Colorado Rockies. It's a good bounce-back outing for Finnegan, who had blown two consecutive saves coming into the contest. Finnegan faces little competition for save chances, but he still has very limited fantasy upside, given that the Nationals just endured the worst 50-game stretch in franchise history.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Paolo Espino was once again very good Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, as he turned in 5 2/3 innings without allowing a run. He gave up three hits and three walks while striking out seven, and was pulled one out shy of what would have been his second consecutive quality start. Espino earned a victory in the contest, improving his record to 5-5. He has a 3.94 ERA and 1.20 WHIP on the season with 90 strikeouts in 102 2/3 innings. He makes for a solid streamer in good matchups, though time is running out this season.

Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one walk, and a strikeout in a 3-0 loss to the Nationals on Sunday. Blackmon was one of two Rockies' to collect multiple hits and he was the only one to notch an extra-base hit. Paolo Espino and company were locked in on the other side and Colorado wasn't able to muster any type of offense. The multi-hit performance was Blackmon's first since September 7. He's now slashing .266/.344/.415 with 13 home runs, 76 RBI, and three stolen bases over 477 at-bats. He's been underwhelming from a fantasy perspective this season, particularly when it comes to power.

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray took the loss on Sunday when he allowed two runs on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts over four innings in a 3-0 loss to the Nationals. Gray wasn't very efficient in this one, needing 70 pitches just to get through his four innings. He coughed up an RBI single to Yadiel Hernandez in the first inning and allowed a solo home run to Juan Soto in the third. The Rockies were blanked on offense so that was enough to give him the loss. The big right-hander now owns an 8-11 record, 4.17 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 145:58 K/BB ratio over 140 1/3 innings (27 starts). He'll take on the Giants at home in his next turn.

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani fell to 12-7 in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Braves. DeSclafani pitched 6 innings, allowing two runs on six hits (including a two-run home run) and no walks with six strikeouts. Despite the loss, he has pitched very well all season and now has a 3.23 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. His next start will be in Coors Field, but the Rockies are a good matchup. Fantasy managers could consider starting him given how well he has pitched.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Gibson allowed three runs across 6 2/3 innings but suffered the loss on Sunday Night Baseball against the Mets. Gibson had allowed just two runs through six innings, but served up a home run to Jeff McNeil in the seventh inning which proved to be the difference in the game. Gibson isn't the flashiest fantasy option, but he's got a solid 3.51 ERA supported by a 3.80 expected ERA with opposing batters hitting just .235 against him. Gibson is a viable starter in all fantasy leagues on Friday when he has a strong matchup against the Pirates.

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen remained ice-cold by going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Mets on Sunday Night Baseball. McCutchen has struggled mightily as he has just three hits in his previous 22 at-bats and is batting just .196 through 16 games in September. Most of McCutchen's troubles can be blamed on a career-worst 23% strikeout rate, but he's also been the victim of a .240 BABIP which is well below his career average. McCutchen is not a viable starter in mixed leagues at the moment.

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Jared Walsh went 1-for-4 on Sunday with a run scored against the Oakland Athletics. The single helped the Angels score two runs to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth before ultimately losing in extras 3-2. After going cold in the middle of the year, he's looking to end strong and has posted a .951 OPS and .313 batting average with five home runs since August 22. Overall in 131 games this season, he owns a .271/.335/.504 slash line with 27 HRs, 85 RBI, and 62 runs. He has value in every format and fantasy managers should start him in every league during his hot streak.

Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino was efficient on Sunday as he needed just 14 pitches to record five outs and earn the win in relief. Trivino was summoned in the ninth inning after Sergio Romo blew a two-run lead, in part thanks to some shoddy defense by Oakland. Trivino escaped the ninth and worked a clean 10th inning, picking up two strikeouts along the way. The A's bullpen has been a mess with the lefty Andrew Chafin and the righty Romo swapping save chances with Trivino seemingly out of the closer mix despite holding down the job most of the season. Perhaps this outing will get Trivino back in the good graces of manager Bob Melvin, but fantasy managers desperate for saves should still prioritize Chafin in the Oakland 'pen.

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani was sharp on the mound Sunday, striking out 10 in eight innings of work during the 3-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics. He allowed two runs on five hits, three walks and one home run as well. The outing ties his career-high for innings pitched in a game, which was set in August of this year. He now owns a 3.28 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP and 28.9 strikeout percentage. Ohtani also reached base twice, going 0-for-2 with a couple of walks. He's been one of the better hitters this season, producing a .257/.360/.592 slash line, 44 home runs and 23 steals thanks to a huge first half. However, since August, he's hitting just .205 with seven home runs and a .377 slugging percentage. Still, Ohtani is one of the most valuable fantasy options in baseball in every format.

Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Sergio Romo took his fourth blown save of the season Sunday versus the Angels as the A's bullpen continues to limp to the finish line. To be fair, this one wasn't all on Romo as his defense let him down and one of his two runs was unearned. Still, he retired just one of the four batters he faced before being lifted for Lou Trivino. Romo has earned three saves recently for the A's, but the bullpen has been a mess as Andrew Chafin is also been in the mix, as well as Trivino who was the closer for most of the season. Chafin has been the best reliever and was unavailable in this game so he is the best A's reliever to roster in fantasy for those chasing saves.

Cleveland Indians outfielder Harold Ramirez went 2-for-2 with a run scored and four RBI in Sunday's 11-1 win over the New York Yankees. Ramirez started the game with a two-run single in the first and then replicated that performance with another in the third inning. He has been a solid acquisition for the Tribe and has hit 13 home runs and driven in 36 across just 209 at-bats this season. His role heading into 2022 is uncertain and is not worthy of stashing in dynasty leagues. He could make for a solid sleeper candidate, however, if given more playing time next season.

Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, four runs scored, three RBI, and a walk. The only thing Ramirez did not do in this one was steal a base. He is now hitting .309 with four bombs and 10 RBI in September. While he is only hitting .265 on the season. He has hit 35 home runs and driven in 94 runs while stealing 24 bags this season. He will once again warrant first-round draft capital in 2022.

Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Angels on Sunday afternoon. The blast was Chapman's 26th of the season as he's had a decent season in the power department despite his batting average woes. The 28-year-old is batting just .222 this season thanks to a sky-high 31.7% strikeout rate. This comes on the heels of a 35% strikeout rate in the 2020 season, so there is reason to believe Chapman's whiff issues are here to stay. He's a fringe-starter in deeper roto leagues ahead of a three-game set with the Mariners.

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Eli Morgan threw six innings of one-run ball while striking out three in an 11-1 win over the New York Yankees Sunday. Morgan has been wildly inconsistent this season as he has posted a 5.68 ERA with 73 strikeouts across 77 1/3 innings pitched. He will likely start 2022 in AAA barring an injury to the projected rotation, but would be the first man up and could be worth a stash in deeper dynasty leagues.

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the Mets 3-2 win over the Phillies on Sunday. Alonso was red hot last at the beginning of September but has since fallen into a funk at the dish. Over his last seven games, Alonso is batting just .192/.323/.346 with one home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. That said, despite the hitless night on Sunday, on the bright side, Alonso did go 3-for-9 in the series with the Phillies that just concluded. Notwithstanding the recent struggles, Alonso remains a must-start. He has posted an impressive .261/.341/.510 slash line this season, to go with 33 homers, 87 RBI, and 74 runs scored over 518 at-bats. He should remain active in all formats for the Mets final 12 games of the season.

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas was brilliant on Sunday as he fired seven shutout innings versus the Angels. Unfortunately, the A's bullpen couldn't hold the lead, but it was an encouraging outing for Montas after getting roughed up in his last start. The right-hander did walk four batters, but he allowed just one hit while picking up seven strikeouts while throwing 62 of 87 pitches for strikes. Montas has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in the second half of the season as he's got a 2.34 EA and a .210 batting average against since the All-Star break. In that span, Montas is third in baseball in swinging-strike rate and eighth in strikeout rate, so he has fully supported his recent success. Montas is a must-start pitcher in fantasy, though a tough matchup with Houston waits next.

New York Mets infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored in the Mets 3-2 win over the Phillies on Sunday evening. McNeil had not homered in his last 43 games prior to Sunday's contest. Though he had shown signs of breaking out during the course of the 2021 season, McNeil never really found any level of consistency with his bat. 2021 turned out to be a bust season for the 29-year old. Coming into the season, it was thought McNeil was a safe bet for a .310 batting average, a .380 on-base percentage, 10-to-15 HR, and 70-to-80 RBI. Instead, managers who expended top-100 draft capital on him have gotten a .252/.318/.364 slash line with just seven home runs and 34 RBI over 111 games. While McNeil holds little fantasy relevance in redraft formats at this point, fantasy managers in dynasty formats should remain patient. As reported previously, there were no signs that McNeil would regress in 2021 other than, perhaps, lower HR totals. As such, fantasy managers in dynasty formats should not be too quick to sell low on McNeil in case an underlying/ undisclosed injury has been the root of his issues in 2021.
