Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lance Lynn has endured an ugly 2022 season, but he had a strong day Sunday, earning his third win of the season in a 5-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers. Lynn allowed two runs on five hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out seven batters. Over his last six starts, Lynn has walked just two batters against 40 strikeouts. He has an unsightly 5.62 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 65 1/2 innings over 12 starts this season.

Chicago White Sox outfielder AJ Pollock led the way to a 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers from the leadoff spot Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, and two runs scored. The long ball is his seventh of the season. Pollock has not had a banner campaign in 2022, slashing .243/.293/.377 in 344 plate appearances with 39 runs scored, 39 RBI, and one steal. He's been better of late, however, slashing .277/.364/.511 with two home runs in his last 15 games. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on if he can keep this up.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Aaron Ashby was solid for six innings Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Each of the runs came on solo homers to Albert Pujols and Tyler O'Neill. Ashby was left with a no-decision in the 6-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. If not for an unlucky 2-10 record, Ashby's 4.24 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 108 strikeouts in 91 1/3 innings would look a lot better to fantasy managers. He should be a popular breakout pick headed into 2023 drafts.

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Taylor Rogers turned in another poor outing on Sunday, allowing four runs on three hits and a walk to take his sixth loss of the season against just one win. He struck out two batters. Rogers now has a 5.00 ERA and 1.20 WHIP on the season, and he's worked his way well off the fantasy radar following a trade from the San Diego Padres. It's hard to see how Brewers manager Craig Counsell could trust him in a late-inning role at this point, and he should be dropped in all fantasy formats.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill hit his seventh home run of the season Sunday, knocking a solo shot off Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Aaron Ashby as part of a 2-for-4 day at the plate. He scored two runs in the game. O'Neill has struggled all season, and he's been just as bad lately, though this performance inches him closer to double digits in both homers and steals, with seven and eight respectively. This isn't much consolation to fantasy managers who had high expectations after his 34 homers and 15 steals in 2021.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler had trouble in Sunday's 6-0 loss against the New York Mets. Across six innings, the right-hander allowed six runs on nine hits, including a home run. Although, he did post a 5:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Despite the poor performance, Wheeler has been one of the best fantasy assets this season, as he owns an 11-6 record with a 2.92 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 142 strikeouts in 132.2 innings (22 starts). He's been dominant for three consecutive seasons, so fantasy managers should continue trusting him in every matchup.

St. Louis Cardinals designated hitter Albert Pujols had another strong game Sunday, going deep twice and driving in four runs in four at-bats. It's his first multi-homer game of the season and gives him 10 long balls on the year. Pujols has recorded a .784 OPS this season, a better number than he's put up in a full campaign since 2015. Over his last 30 games, he's been especially effective, slashing .304/.345/.595 with six homers in 84 plate appearances. Despite his recent success, it's unlikely he'd make a worthwhile fantasy add in most formats.

The Washington Nationals are expected to place second baseman Luis Garcia (groin) on the injured list Monday. He missed the last two games due to a groin issue. The severity of Garcia's groin injury is unknown, but he will be out for at least the next 10 days. The 22-year-old is slashing .289/.301/.417 with four home runs, 25 RBI, 18 runs, and one stolen base across 237 plate appearances in 60 games. Washington will call up top prospect C.J. Abrams from Triple-A Rochester to fill the void at second base. Abrams should be rostered in all leagues due to his tremendous upside. The 21-year-old slashed .232/.285/.320 with two homers, 16 runs, 11 RBI, and a stolen base with the San Diego in 21 games.

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas completed eight innings Sunday en route to his ninth win of the season. Mikolas gave up two runs on four hits and no walks with six strikeouts. This outing was a significant rebound for the right-hander, who gave up 10 runs on 14 hits in 2 2/3 innings in his previous trip to the mount. Overall, Mikolas has been a consistent, if unspectacular, fantasy option with a 3.44 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 114 strikeouts in 149 1/3 innings this season.

Texas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc recorded his first save of the season Sunday, throwing a perfect inning with one strikeouts against the Seattle Mariners to secure a 5-3 victory. While Texas has been employing a committee approach to the late innings recently, LeClerc has some pedigree with 26 saves in the 2018 and 2019 seasons combined. He carries a 3.54 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 25 strikeouts in 28 innings this year, which aren't impressive enough to think he'll be regaining the role anytime soon.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Martin Perez did not have his best control Sunday, walking five batters, but he still managed a quality start. Perez gave up three runs (one earned) on four hits and the five free passes with seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Perez has earned quality starts in five of his past six outings, and has a 2.79 ERA and 1.20 WHIP with 125 strikeouts in 142 innings this season. He's been a major fantasy value to managers who picked him up off the waiver wire in the early days of this 2022 campaign.

Texas Rangers first baseman Nate Lowe had a solid day Sunday, going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, a walk, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. It was Lowe's second swiped bag of the season. Lowe now has a five-game hitting streak, and a robust .383/.463/.532 slash line in 53 August plate appearances. He's often been eyed as a potential major fantasy contributor, and perhaps he'll be able to lift his solid .801 OPS even higher by the end of the year. He's hit 16 home runs, scored 51 runs, and driven in 49 more in 411 at-bats this year.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jake McCarthy stole two bases on Sunday, giving him nine on the season in 10 attempts. He went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. While McCarthy does not offer incredible upside in any other category, eight of his steals have come in his last 30 games, making him a potentially potent speed option down the stretch of the fantasy season. He has just three long balls this year, but if he can add any, that would make him very worthwhile as an add.

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Josh Rojas continues to be a sneaky source of stolen bases. The 28-year-old went 2-for-4 at the plate Sunday with a run scored, two RBI, and his 15th swiped bag of the year. Eight of those steals have come in his last 30 games. Regularly slotting into the leadoff spot and sporting a .279/.349/.411 slash line on the year, Rojas offers plenty of value for fantasy managers while potentially remaining available on the waiver wire. He has also added seven homers, 47 runs scored, and 37 RBI in 330 plate appearances this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker has been among the most underrated sluggers in fantasy baseball all season, and he came through yet again on Sunday, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, four RBI, and a run scored in a 7-4 win over the Colorado Rockies. Walker has 27 home runs, 67 RBI, and 53 runs scored on the season with a .218 batting average that has suffered as a result of a .206 BABIP.

San Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores had three hits and reached base four times in five plate appearances Sunday with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. Flores has been among the most consistent hitters on this Giants team, slashing .258/.342/.448 with 16 home runs in 409 plate appearances. He's been especially strong over his last 30 games, with a .307/.372/.564 slash line and six homers in that span. Flores is a consistently undervalued fantasy option.

San Francisco Giants outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. provided the biggest hit of the game on Sunday, knocking a three-run homer in the second inning of an 8-7 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. While Wade Jr. has not been able to match his numbers from his breakout 2021 season due to injury, he has still provided a .772 OPS and six homers in 120 plate appearances this year. Fantasy managers in deep daily formats can likely mine some value from him.

Washington Nationals pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. allowed one hit while striking out one batter over a scoreless inning to earn the save during Saturday's 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres. He entered the game in the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead and retired three of four batters he faced to secure his second save of the season. The 30-year-old has now notched two saves over his last three appearances. He owns a 3.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and a 40:20 K: BB across 41 2/3 innings in 2022. Fantasy managers searching for saves should look to add Edwards as he has been used as Washington's primary closer over the last few games.

San Francisco Giants utility man Thairo Estrada continued his productive season Sunday, going 2-for-5 with a home run, a steal, two RBI, and a run scored in an 8-7 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Estrada now has 11 home runs and 16 steals on the season. Double-digits in both power and speed categories will make any player fantasy-relevant, and Estrada has also provided 51 runs scored and 47 RBI while playing all over the diamond. He has slashed .333/.333/.593 in his last seven games.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds almost singlehandedly carried his team to a win Sunday, but unfortunately the club fell short in an 8-7 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Reynolds went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, a double, a hit-by-pitch, three runs scored, and five RBI. Reynolds now has an .800 OPS with 17 homers, 50 runs scored, 40 RBI, and five steals on the season, though his best work has come in his last 30 games with a .272/.390/.476 slash line and five homers in that span. Fantasy managers will hope Reynolds can keep up his hot streak the rest of the way.
