Tue Apr 18 202315:26Mike Trout Back In Tuesday's Lineup
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is back in center field and is hitting second on Tuesday against right-hander Clarke Schmidt and the New York Yankees. Trout took a normal day of rest in a day game on Monday against the Boston Red Sox, but he's back in there to begin a series on the road in the Bronx on Tuesday. Fantasy managers will want to get the 31-year-old back in their starting lineups. In his first 15 games of the 2023 season, Trout is hitting .278 (15-for-54) with five doubles, three home runs, nine RBI and 12 runs scored in 69 plate appearances. He may not be a threat to run much at this point in his career, but Trout still contributes nicely in all other categories for fantasy managers.

Wed Apr 12 202319:30Mike Trout Reaches Base Once On Wednesday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout was 0-for-3 with a walk in a 3-2 win over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. Trout reached base just one time in the tight contest and fanned once. The 31-year-old superstar has gotten off to a solid start, per usual, slashing .262/.436/.524 with three home runs, nine RBI, and 10 runs scored. He is 0-for-11 over the last three contests but has reached base safely in 10 of 12 games to start the year. He'll look to tally a few hits starting Friday when the Angels start a three-game series with the Red Sox in Boston.

Tue Mar 14 202300:59Mike Trout Golfs Three-Run Homer Monday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout was ready to represent Team USA in Monday's 12-1 World Baseball Classic win over Team Canada, going 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and two walks. Trout lined a low first-inning fastball just over the center-field fence to put Team USA ahead 9-0. The 31-year-old traded average for power in 2022, slashing .283/.369/.630 with 40 HR and 80 RBI in 499 plate appearances. Trout still remains one of baseball's best hitters, but injuries have limited his overall fantasy value over the past several seasons. He clearly is one of fantasy baseball's best options on an at-bat-by-at-bat appearance, but questions on his total playing time have dropped his average draft position to 20th overall. Despite this, Trout is still a strong early draft option in a relatively shallow position.

Mon Feb 27 202317:52Mike Trout Feels The Urgency In 2023
Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout entered spring training feeling healthy, and he also senses the urgency for the organization with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani set to become a free agent after the 2023 season. "This has got to be the year," Trout said. "It's got to be." Trout dealt with back issues last year, but he has declared himself past the injury. "I feel great," said Trout, now 31. "Obviously you get some aches and pains you didn't get when you were 20, but you get in the training room and get treatment. The back's fine. That was another freak thing. It's over now." Trout was a 6.3 WAR player with a .999 OPS in 2022 despite missing 43 games. The 31-year-old is no longer in consideration for the No. 1 overall pick in fantasy drafts, but he shouldn't be far behind if he's healthy.

Fri Jan 20 202317:48Mike Trout Says His Back Is A "Non-Issue"
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back) said his back has been a "non-issue" for the last four months and it hasn't factored into his offseason much at all. That's excellent news for the Angels and fantasy managers as we approach the start of spring training. The 31-year-old played in only 119 games last season due to a condition called costovertebral dysfunction, which could be a long-term issue for him. The good news is that he was able to return to finish the 2022 campaign and hit .283/.369/.630 with a .999 OPS, 40 home runs, 80 RBI, 85 runs scored and one stolen base when it was all said and done. As long as he's healthy heading into the 2023 season, Trout will be a costly fantasy selection, but he now has much more risk than ever before if his back injury resurfaces.

Sun Oct 2 202219:08Mike Trout Hits 39th Home Run
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout blasted his 39th home run of the season against the Texas Rangers on Sunday. The superstar outfielder kicked off what became a six-run inning with an infield hit in the opening frame. He'd come back to blast a homer off Tyson Miller in the fourth inning. The 31-year-old is hitting .282/.367/.627 with 39 long balls and 79 RBI in just 116 games. Possibly, Trout will be able to reach 40 home runs before the season is over.

Sat Oct 1 202223:21Mike Trout Dealing With A Sore Foot
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (foot) missed Saturday's game against the Texas Rangers due to a sore foot. He fouled a ball off his foot during the seventh inning of Friday's win over the Rangers. The 31-year-old is considered day-to-day. Injuries have limited the star outfielder to 115 games in 2022, and with the Angels out of the playoff race, expect Trout to have a few days off. He is slashing .27/.363/.618 with 38 home runs, 78 RBI, 82 runs, and a stolen base over 480 plate appearances. Taylor Ward will handle centerfield duties while Trout is sidelined.

Mon Sep 26 202211:32Mike Trout Has A Big Game Sunday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, an RBI, three runs scored and a walk in the 10-3 blowout win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. In the process he extended his modest hitting streak to five games. Amidst another disappointing season for the Angels, the 31-year-old All-Star is slashing .278/.364/.619 with a .983 OPS, 37 home runs, 77 RBI, 79 runs scored and a stolen base in 407 at-bats. The 10-time All-Star is closing out the 2022 season strong, as he's hitting .308 (24-for-78) with nine home runs, 19 RBI and 17 runs scored in 20 games in the month of September so far. He remains a must-start across all fantasy formats in the final stretch of the season.

Mon Sep 19 202214:25Mike Trout Isn't In Monday's Lineup
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout isn't in the team's starting lineup on Monday for a matchup with the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Logan Gilbert. The 30-year-old is hitting .276 with a .364 on-base percentage, 36 home runs, and a stolen base in 437 plate appearances this season. He'll head to the bench with Magneuris Sierra starting in center field and batting ninth instead. Sierra is hitting .181 this season in 88 plate appearances for the Angels, with a .218 on-base percentage and six stolen bases. Fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming options in the outfield.

Tue Sep 13 202200:33Mike Trout Homers In Seventh Consecutive Game Monday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout continued his impressive streak in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Guardians, going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a strikeout. Trout crushed a fifth-inning Konnor Pilkington fastball to straightaway center for his 35th HR of the season. More importantly, this was Trout's seventh consecutive game with a long ball, putting him one away from tying the MLB record. The 31-year-old has once again been one of fantasy's most reliable performers, slashing .279/.368/.633 with 69 RBI and one steal.

Sat Sep 10 202210:11Mike Trout Homers For Fifth Straight Game
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is on a tear, as he hit his fifth home run in five days on Friday. He was 1-for-4 overall, and his homer was a two-run shot. Not only has Trout gone deep for five straight games, but across his last 15 contests, the superstar is batting .317 with nine bombs and a 1.169 OPS. Even though the 31-year-old missed over a month of baseball with a back and rib injury, he's having a sensational year, slashing .277/.366/.619 with 33 HRs, 69 runs, 64 RBI, and one stolen base over 98 games. Trout's been one of the best all-around fantasy players during his career, and that hasn't changed this season.

Thu Aug 25 202211:08Mike Trout Resting Thursday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout appears to be getting a day of rest on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Trout returned from the injured list last Friday and had played in six straight games, so the Angels are just giving the 31-year-old outfielder a breather. In six games since his return, Trout has gone 7-for-23 (.304) with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored. It's great to see that his back/ribs injury that had kept him out since July 12 hasn't really affected him since he's been back. Trout will remain a must-start fantasy asset whenever he's on the field. Magneuris Sierra is starting in center field and hitting sixth against Rays right-hander Drew Rasmussen on Thursday. Sierra should be avoided in DFS. He has 13 hits in 69 at-bats and is still searching for his first home run.

Fri Aug 19 202215:13Mike Trout Back From The Injured List
The Los Angeles Angels activated outfielder Mike Trout (back, ribs) from the injured list on Friday. After facing live pitching earlier this week, Trout was targeting a return on Friday for the start of the team's series against the Detroit Tigers. The 31-year-old superstar missed five weeks of action with a rare back condition, but Trout has downplayed the injury and will hopefully be fine the rest of the way. He'll return to a .270/.368/.599 slash line with a .967 OPS, 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored and a stolen base in 79 games. Fantasy managers need to plug him back into their starting lineups in all formats.

Wed Aug 17 202211:13Mike Trout Could Return This Week
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout's (back, ribs) return from the injured list appears imminent, and interim manager Phil Nevin wouldn't rule out a return as early as Wednesday. However, it appears more likely that Trout would return against the Detroit Tigers on Friday. He started doing rotational exercises on Aug. 3 and swinging off a tee on Aug. 8. Trout then progressed to soft toss on Aug. 13 and has been throwing and running without issues. The 31-year-old said he felt great after facing live pitching on Monday, so he appears ready to return to the team without going on a minor league rehab assignment. It's great news, as there was a bit of concern that Trout might not even make it back to play in 2022 for a while.

Mon Aug 15 202219:27Mike Trout Takes Live Batting Practice Monday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back, ribs) took live batting practice on Monday, which means he hit against an actual pitcher throwing at game speed. It's the last step necessary before playing in games, but it's unknown if he'll actually go on a minor league rehab assignment. Whether Trout plays in minor league games first will be up to him, according to skipper Phil Nevin. The 31-year-old is getting very close to rejoining the Halos lineup, which should have fantasy managers ecstatic. The 10-time All-Star was hitting .270/.368/.599 with a .967 OPS, 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored and a stolen base in 79 games before his injury, and he'll remain a must-start in fantasy lineups once he returns to the Angels.

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back) reportedly took batting practice on Sunday, according to a tweet from The Athletic's Sam Blum. Blum also noted in his tweet that Trout's "outlook sounds optimistic that he can begin hitting off of live pitching at some point soon." Prior to landing on the injured list, Trout was in the midst of enjoying another strong year at the plate, hitting .270 with a .368 on-base percentage, 24 home runs and a stolen base in 326 plate appearances for the Angels this season.

Sat Aug 13 202221:25Mike Trout Takes BP On Saturday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back) took batting practice on Saturday. It was the first time he had done this since landing on the injured list in late July. The 31-year-old is dealing with a rare back condition called costovertebral dysfunction. He reportedly felt good after hitting on the field Saturday. The star outfielder slashed .270/.368/.599 with a .967 OPS, 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored, and one stolen base in 282 at-bats before landing on the injured list. Fri Aug 12 202221:21Mike Trout Plays Catch Friday
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back) was able to play catch on the field before Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Trout recently began hitting off a tee earlier in the week and has now upped his baseball activities even more as he attempts to get back on the field before the end of the season. The Angels have yet to provide a timetable for Trout's return from the injured list but at least he's trending in the right direction. Trout is hitting .270 with 24 homers, 55 runs, 51 RBI, and a steal across 79 games in 2022.

Tue Aug 9 202219:53Mike Trout Begins Hitting Off A Tee
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (back, ribs) started hitting off a tee on Monday. Trout took dry swings over the weekend and progressed to tee work to begin this week. The 31-year-old superstar was sidelined before the All-Star break with a rare back condition that has caused rib-cage inflammation, but he insists that he'll return before the end of the season. However, with the Angels well out of playoff contention yet again, they're unlikely to rush him back into action. Even though he's without a timetable for a return, fantasy managers should continue stashing Trout in an injured list spot in all leagues. Trout is currently hitting .270/.368/.599 with a .967 OPS, 24 home runs, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored and one stolen base in 282 at-bats this year.
