Sun Jun 3013:39Blue Jays Acquire Yerry Rodriguez From Rangers
The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Sunday that they acquired right-hander Yerry Rodriguez from the Texas Rangers in exchange for minor-league right-hander Josh Mollerus. Rodriguez has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Rodriguez debuted in the big leagues in 2022 with the Rangers and has a 7.11 ERA (5.59 FIP) and 1.70 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and 17 walks in 31 2/3 innings over 26 appearances (one start) with Texas in that time. In 17 relief innings for the Rangers in 2024, he allowed 13 earned runs on 16 hits (five home runs) while walking 11 and striking out 12 before being designated for assignment. The 26-year-old will need to display much better control on the mound in order to get another shot in the big leagues with his new team.

Tue Jul 25 202319:33Yerry Rodriguez Serving As Starter For Rangers
Texas Rangers right-hander Yerry Rodriguez, not Cody Bradford, will make the start on Tuesday against the division-rival Houston Astros. It was previously reported that Bradford would get the nod for a spot start on Tuesday, but the Rangers have changed their minds and are now going with the 25-year-old Rodriguez. Rodriguez will be making his first major-league start and won't be a recommended DFS streamer in a tough matchup against the 'Stros. Bradford could be the bulk reliever, but neither he nor Rodriguez will likely throw many innings in this one. Rodriguez has a 5.06 ERA (3.28 FIP), 1.59 WHIP, three walks and 11 strikeouts in just 10 2/3 relief innings over 11 appearances out of Texas' bullpen in 2023.

Sat Jul 22 202313:48Yerry Rodriguez Recalled From Triple-A
Texas Rangers relief pitcher Yerry Rodriguez has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock. The 25-year-old will likely work low-leverage situations out of the Rangers' bullpen. He owns a 3.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 6:3 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings (10 appearances) on the season. Reliever Grant Anderson was optioned back to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

Fri Feb 24 202312:50Yerry Rodriguez Looking For Permanent Bullpen Spot
Texas Rangers right-hander Yerry Rodriguez is looking for a permanent bullpen job with the Rangers in spring training this year. The Dominican product signed for $60,000 in 2015 and made his major-league debut with a scoreless inning on the final day of the 2022 season. He has a running fastball that reaches 100 mph and a sweeping low-80s slider. In 59 innings at Triple-A last year before his call-up, Rodriguez had a 4.27 ERA with 73 strikeouts. The 25-year-old initially came to the Rangers as a starter, but he has since transitioned into a relief role and could be a big weapon out of the bullpen in 2023, even if he doesn't make the club out of spring training. He can be avoided for now for fantasy purposes, but he's a bullpen arm to keep an eye on in Texas.
