Sat Sep 716:10Calvin Faucher Hits 15-Day Injured List
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday with a right-shoulder impingement. The 28-year-old will now be sidelined for at least the next two weeks and may not have many opportunities to pitch this season. Faucher has been a strong piece in the Miami bullpen, holding a strong 2.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 5:19 BB:K ratio with six saves in his past 13 innings. 29-year-old Anthony Bender was also activated off the IL on Saturday and should now be one of the front runners to see save opportunities down the stretch. Fantasy managers in need of saves should pay close attention to who gets the first ninth-inning opportunity over the weekend while Faucher remains sidelined.

Wed Aug 2801:07Calvin Faucher Records Fourth Save
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher recorded the save in Tuesday's 9-8 win against the Colorado Rockies. Faucher came into the game and had a perfect ninth inning, allowing no baserunners and striking out the side. This marks Faucher's fourth save of the season (in five opportunities). Coming out of the Marlins' bullpen, Faucher has been used in multiple roles and has been quite effective overall. In 49 games (49 2/3 IP), he has a 3.44 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts. Faucher is available in 85% of Yahoo! leagues, so he may be worth adding if you need saves down the stretch.

Mon Aug 1900:44Calvin Faucher Grabs Third Save
Miami Marlins reliever Calvin Faucher collected his third save of the season on Sunday, shutting down the New York Mets to preserve a 3-2 win. Faucher allowed a pair of hits but was able to strike out two and prevent the Mets from scoring. With Tanner Scott and AJ Puk sent to contenders at the trade deadline, it appears Faucher is the de facto closer for the Marlins. He has three saves in August and has been used in every conventional save situation the Marlins have had. He should be rostered in deeper leagues that count saves and can be looked at as a desperation option in standard leagues.

Fri Nov 17 202322:45Marlins Acquire Vidal Brujan, Calvin Faucher From Rays
The Miami Marlins acquired infielder/outfielder Vidal Brujan and right-hander Calvin Faucher (biceps) from the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday in exchange for infielder Erick Lara, right-hander Andrew Lindsey and a player to be named later or cash considerations. Brujan, a 25-year-old Dominican switch-hitter, really struggled offensively in his three seasons with the Rays, slashing .157/.218/.221 with three home runs, 24 RBI and nine stolen bases in 99 games played. He'll bring mostly defensive versatility to the Marlins and will likely start 2024 in the minors. Faucher, 28, finished the season on the 60-day injured list and had a rough 7.01 ERA and 1.67 WHIP with 12 walks and 25 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings over four outings (three starts) for Tampa this year.

Tue Jun 27 202312:04Calvin Faucher Begins Rehab Assignment
Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Calvin Faucher (elbow) last pitched on June 5 in Boston, but he continued to feel soreness in his lower right-triceps muscle. An MRI exam showed inflammation, so he received an injection and was temporarily shut down from throwing. Faucher tossed an inning of live batting practice on June 23 and said he "felt really good." He was scheduled to appear in a minor-league rehab game with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday, followed by more rehab work with Triple-A Durham. The 27-year-old could be getting close to a return to Tampa's bullpen if he can avoid any setbacks. Faucher has made 13 appearances (four starts) and has allowed 11 runs on 19 hits while walking 11 and striking out 16 in 19 innings pitched in 2023.
