Wed Jun 12 201301:28Jason Kubel hits two-run homer
Jason Kubel hit his first homer since April 29 in the loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Kubel homered in his second game back from the DL in April, but he had gone 27 games and 83 at-bats since without one before taking Zack Greinke deep tonight. He also made a pretty outstanding diving catch in left field and he was one of the few players not hit by a pitch, so it was quite a night for him.

Sun Jun 2 201301:13Jason Kubel knocks in four for D'backs
Jason Kubel went 2-for-6 with a three-run double and an RBI groundout on Saturday.
Kubel had just five RBI in 19 games last month, but he nearly matched that total on the first day of June. His power numbers should be pretty strong the rest of the way, even though he's only playing against righties right now.

Fri May 31 201316:50Jason Kubel goes 0-for-4 in loss
Jason Kubel went 0-for-4 on Friday, dropping his average to .231.
.231 wouldn't be so bad if he were hitting for his usual power, but Kubel has just three homers and three doubles in 91 at-bats this season after coming through with 30 of each last year. The Diamondbacks will keep playing him against righties and wait for the turnaround, but he's not going to get any starts versus lefties while he struggles.

Fri May 17 201303:17OF Kubel still dealing with quadriceps injury
Jason Kubel has been out of the starting lineup the past two games after aggravating his left quadriceps injury.
The injury forced him onto the disabled list earlier this season. "Just trying to get over that," Kubel said. "We decided to give it a few days rest." Kubel was batting .333/.375/.600 with two homers and six RBI before going down with the injury on April 9 and he's struggled mightily since, batting .167 since his activation. Arizona begins a three-game series Friday against Florida and Kubel's former Twins teammate Kevin Slowey. Cody Ross and A.J. Pollock will pick up additional at-bats if Kubel can't play.
