Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said starting Justin Sellers at shortstop and Luis Cruz at third base would be "pretty much a regular thing." |
They had been expected to go with Cruz at short and a host of players at third while Hanley Ramirez is out, but they've decided to keep Cruz at the hot corner. Sellers is a career .204/.283/.323 hitter without much power or speed, so he offers next to nothing for fantasy owners. |

Fri Mar 29 2013 | 22:07 | Justin Sellers could open as Dodgers SS |
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly hinted Friday that Justin Sellers could begin the season as the Dodgers starting shortstop. |
Despite the fact that he was optioned to Triple-A a few weeks ago, the injury to Hanley Ramirez has surely changed things for the Dodgers. Sellers has shown a large platoon split in his major league career, and should be utilized against all left-handed pitching at a minimum. Luis Cruz would remain the starter at third base if Sellers opens at shortstop. |
