RHP Scott Feldman picked up a no-decision after giving up six runs and seven hits while striking out one in 3 2/3 innings of Thursday's 13-10 victory over the Chicago Cubs. The five home runs he allowed are a career high. He's the third pitcher to serve up five homers in a game this season and the 10th Reds pitcher to give up that many in a contest.

RF Hunter Pence continued hit hot hitting of late with a single to complement two walks in four plate appearances in Thursday's win over the Philadelphia Phillies. He's now had at least one hit in 15 of his last 17 games, hitting .339 (21-for-62) over that stretch. Pence was intentionally walked for the first time this season in the sixth inning.

RF Phillip Ervin celebrated his first career start by going 3-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs. He's the first Reds rookie with at least three runs and three RBIs in a game since Chris Dickerson and Joey Votto (both in 2008).

1B Joey Votto was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer in the second inning. He has reached base safely in 22 straight games, tied for his second-longest streak of the season. Votto has reached base twice in 21 of those games.

3B Eugenio Suarez (2-for-3, two RBIs) tied a career high with three runs scored. He reached base at least three times for the 23rd time this season, surpassing his previous career best of 22 set last season. He has hit .326 against the Cubs this season.

2B Ian Happ (2-for-3, two home runs) recorded his third career multi-homer game in his 78th career appearance. Happ had three RBIs, scored twice and also had a sacrifice fly.

LHP Jon Lester started but lasted only into the second inning before leaving with left lat tightness. He allowed nine runs (seven earned) in the second inning. It was the second time he's allowed at least eight runs in a season, giving up 10 runs in the first inning July 9 at Pittsburgh. He was scheduled to see a doctor late Thursday and his condition was not expected to be known until Friday.

C Alex Avila (2-for-4) doubled, homered and had three RBIs, including a run-scoring double in the fifth inning to complete a nine-run Cubs comeback. Three of his six hits with Chicago are home runs.

LF Kyle Schwarber (3-for-5) homered and had an RBI as he collected his third three-hit game of the season. He also became the fourth Cubs player with 20 home runs this season and raised his average above .200 for the first time since May 9.

INF Jose Reyes (left oblique strain) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday, retroactive to Wednesday. Reyes was injured while swinging the bat during Tuesday's game against the Yankees. He said prior to Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees that he doesn't believe the injury is serious and hopes to return to the Mets when he is first eligible. Reyes is batting .223 with nine homers, 39 RBIs and a team-high 14 stolen bases in 113 games this season.

INF Wilmer Flores (left oblique) dodged the disabled list Thursday, when he participated in baseball activities before sitting out the Mets' 7-5 loss to the Yankees. Flores was a late scratch from the starting lineup Wednesday due to the injury but appears to have a chance to return to action in the next few days. He is batting .281 with 14 homers and 38 RBIs in 94 games this season.

1B Tyler Austin was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Thursday, when he went 2-for-4 in the Yankees' 7-5 win over the Mets. This is the second trip to the majors this season for Austin, who played four games with the Yankees in late June before suffering a right hamstring injury. Following a rehab assignment, he was optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 11, though he is returning before a 10-day minimum stint at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre because he's taking the place of injured 1B Garrett Cooper (left hamstring). While he started Thursday, Austin is expected to backup IF Chase Headley at first base. Austin is batting .235 with one homer and two RBIs this season for the Yankees.

OF Robbie Grossman left the second game of Thursday's doubleheader with a fractured left thumb. Grossman collided with CF Byron Buxton in the second inning but stayed in the game and singled in his first at-bat. Max Kepler pinch-hit for Grossman an inning later. Manager Paul Molitor said he expect Grossman to miss about three weeks.

LHP Glen Perkins was activated from the 60-day disabled list Thursday. Perkins, who had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder last year, pitched in the ninth inning of the first game of Thursday's doubleheader for his first appearance in the majors since April 10, 2016, a span of 273 games. He allowed two runs while getting one out. He gave up two hits and hit two batters. Perkins was hitting 92 MPH with his fastball.

LHP Buddy Boshers was optioned to Triple-A Rochester following the first game of Thursday's doubleheader. Boshers pitched two-thirds scoreless innings Thursday with two hits. He owns a 5.16 ERA in 27 games with Minnesota this season.

LHP Roenis Elias was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket. He's 15-for-21 with a 4.21 ERA in 54 games (50 starts) in his MLB career. He has yet to play in the majors this season.

RHP Noe Ramirez was designated for assignment. He was 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in two games for the Red Sox this season.

1B Anthony RIzzo went 3-for-5 with two doubles and has hit .365 with seven home runs, four doubles and 22 RBIs in 13 games against the Reds this season.

LHP J.A. Happ will be trying for his second career win against the Chicago Cubs when he pitches the opener of a three-game interleague series Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field. He Is 1-4 with a 5.52 ERA in six career starts against the Cubs. He will be facing them for the first time since Sept. 15, 2015 when he was with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Happ is 3-0 with a 1.45 ERA in August with 23 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings. In two career starts at Wrigley Field, he is 0-1 with a 3.75 ERA.

3B Josh Donaldson hit two solo home runs Thursday in the 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. They were the first of his career against Rays RHP Chris Archer. "I don't know if you're ever due against a guy like that, he's got really good stuff," Donaldson said. Donaldson now has 20 homers on the season with 11 of them coming in the past 19 games and six in the past five games. He is batting .379 (25-for-66) in that span. He has hit 10 homers in the first inning this season, including one Thursday. He has 21 RBIs in August. "He's been unbelievable," said 1B Justin Smoak, who hit the game-winning, two-run homer in the eighth inning Thursday. "I think it was matter of time until, after he came back from injury, he got his timing."
