RHP Tyrell Jenkins, one of the Braves' top prospects, went a season-high seven innings Sunday for Triple-A Gwinnett but fell to 5-3 after a 3-1 loss to Syracuse. He gave up two runs and seven hits while walking one and striking out four. Jenkins, 23, threw 107 pitches -- his most of the season. He has a 2.97 ERA.

Jenkins (arm) was activated off the disabled list and will start Friday's game for Triple-A Gwinnett, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Jenkins ended up missing over two weeks after dealing with arm fatigue, but will return in time to take the mound again before the end of the season. The 23-year-old has worked to a 3.71 ERA with a 29:19 K:BB ratio through eight starts at the Triple-A level.

Jenkins was placed on the disabled list with Triple-A Gwinnett with what's been labeled arm fatigue, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Jenkins lasted just two innings in his start Sunday, and now the reason behind his early exit has been revealed. It's unclear how long he'll miss, but the rest should give the 22-year-old hurler time to recover for the remainder of the Triple-A campaign. Jenkins posted a 3.00 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 59 strikeouts over 93 innings at Double-A Mississippi before receiving a promotion to Triple-A, but hasn't been as successful since joining his new club (3.71 ERA, 1.41 WHIP over 43.2 innings).

Jenkins, 23, gave up three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
The athletic 6-foot-4 righty now has a 3.24 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 28 strikeouts over 41.2 innings at Triple-A. This has easily been the most promising season of Jenkins' minor league career. He has proven himself capable of being a successful starter at the upper levels of the minor leagues and he has also shown he can log significant innings in a season, with 134.2 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. The Braves may wait until 2016 to give Jenkins an audition in the big league rotation, but if they need a spot starter at some point down the stretch, Jenkins has emerged as a legitimate option.

Jenkins tossed seven shutout innings in his Triple-A debut Thursday, allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out six on 98 pitches.
Jenkins' strikeout numbers at Double-A weren't very impressive, but this is a guy who has all the tools to be at least a mid-rotation starter. There is a chance that the 22-year-old righty could finally be putting it all together.
Wed Jul 8 201515:35Jenkins promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday
Jenkins was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Jenkins is a curious pitching prospect, as he has all the physical gifts to pitch near the top of the rotation, but has not yet tapped into that potential in the minor leagues. A 6-foot-4, 180-pound righty, Jenkins offers a plus fastball and can flash secondary offerings that are average or better. Still, he notched only a 14.9 percent K-rate in 93 innings at Double-A prior to the promotion. Still just 22 years old, it is too soon to give up on Jenkins given his stuff and his physical attributes, but it takes some dreaming to envision anything more than a No. 4 starter at this point.

Jenkins is 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 43:31 K:BB ratio over 69 innings with Double-A Mississippi this season.
The shiny ERA has earned Jenkins a Southern League All-Star nod, but his ugly peripherals suggest he'll still benefit from some more time in the minors. On a more positive note, the Braves have to be pleased that the 22-year-old has managed to stay healthy this season, after injuries the last few years stalled his developments. He's just nine frames away from surpassing his highest innings total in any of his previous five seasons in the minors.
Mon Mar 16 201510:29Jenkins optioned to Double-A Mississippi on Monday
Jenkins was optioned to Double-A Mississippi on Monday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
This move isn't a huge surprise, as the Braves weren't considering Jenkins for an Opening Day roster spot. He'll likely spend all of 2015 at Double-A, with a chance of earning a late-season bump to Triple-A if he dominates the level.
Fri Nov 21 201415:41Jenkins added to Braves' 40-man roster Thursday
Jenkins was added to the Braves' 40-man roster Thursday, MLB.com reports.
The Braves just acquired Jenkins from St. Louis in the Jason Heyward deal earlier in the week and had to make this move in order to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. Shoulder issues have dimmed Jenkins' prospect star considerably in recent seasons, but he showed that the upside is still there in 2014, flashing brilliance at both High-A Palm Beach (3.28 ERA) and in the Arizona Fall League (2.22 ERA). The 6-4 right-hander is expected to open 2015 in the rotation at Double-A Mississippi.

Jenkins has been traded to the Braves as part of a four-player swap that will send Jason Heyward to St. Louis.
One of the Cards' top pitching prospects in a very deep stable of quality arms, Jenkins recently completed a stretch in the Arizona Fall League, where he tossed 24.1 innings with a 2.22 ERA and 18:10 K:BB over six starts. Long term, his projection is that of a mid-rotation starter, while the Braves are likely to start him at Double-A in 2015 as he looks to take the next big step in his development.
Sun Jul 6 201412:02Cardinals RHP prospect Jenkins stays hot
Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Tyrell Jenkins threw seven innings for High-A Palm Beach on Saturday, allowing five singles, two walks, and one (unearned) run.
Jenkins did not strike out a batter, but he shut down Pirates prospect Josh Bell, who went 0-for-3, though he reached on an error. Jenkins has frontline potential, and he may be finally blossoming into the pitcher the Cardinals were hoping for when they drafted him in 2010.

Wed Jun 18 201407:50Cardinals RHP prospect Jenkins with 6 no-hit
Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Tyrell Jenkins threw six no-hit innings for High-A Palm Beach on Tuesday, walking two and striking out three.
The 21-year old Jenkins has not pitched in a game in nearly a full year, and it's good to see such a good start. Jenkins, the 50th overall pick in the 2010 draft, has always been viewed as a raw pitcher with frontline potential. It will be interesting to see if he can finally put it all together.

Cardinals prospect Tyrell Jenkins underwent season-ending surgery Monday on his right shoulder.
Jenkins is expected to need 6-8 months of recovery time. The 21-year-old right-hander registered a disappointing 4.70 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 40/25 K/BB ratio in 59 1/3 innings this season between Low-A Peoria and High-A Palm Beach. He was the 50th overall pick in 2010.

Cardinals pitching prospect Tyrell Jenkins revealed via Twitter Friday that an exam on his pitching shoulder came back clean.
Jenkins tweeted that "everything's OK" and that he'll be back "very very soon." It's a relief for the Cards, especially after he dealt with a shoulder issue last season, as well. Ranked by Baseball America prior to the season as the club's No. 8 prospect, Jenkins holds a 4.74 ERA at Peoria this season.
