RHP Tyler Wilson's recent problems continued in Saturday's loss to New York as he gave up five runs on seven hits in only four innings. Wilson (2-5) often experiences trouble with one big inning, and that happened again as New York posted four in the fourth and handed the right-hander his fourth straight loss. "Just made a lot of mistakes," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "Uncharacteristically up. Threw a lot of pitches. Never found his way. Kind of fighting his command. Unusual for him."

RHP Tyler Wilson got the win Wednesday, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings. The win was Wilson's second, and he lowered his ERA to 2.98. The seven innings were a season-best. "I felt like with Tyler, he's gonna pitch to contact a lot," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "The thing about Tyler is he knows who he is and he knows who he isn't. He's not gonna get out of that and that's why catchers like catching him and people like playing defense behind him. He attacks and he never has a non-competitive moment on the mound."

RHP Tyler Wilson is trying to make the Orioles think about keeping him in the rotation. He gave up two runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings Thursday, throwing well at times but needed 91 pitches and was pulled one out short of the victory. He threw five innings in his first start and manager Buck Showalter wanted to keep him at 90 pitches for this one. "He's getting an opportunity, and he's not going to miss a chance to impress," Showalter said. "He was solid."

Mon Sep 28 201517:36Wilson will likely make Thursday's start for Orioles
Wilson will likely make Thursday's start for the Orioles, MASN Sports reports.
Wilson threw a quality start against the Nationals last week and the Orioles are trying to see if he can fill a spot in the 2016 rotation. Wilson has been serviceable, with a 3.60 ERA in eight appearances, including four starts. The bad news is the Orioles will face the Blue Jays. Toronto may have the division in hand by then, but at this point it looks like home field advantage throughout the AL playoffs is up in the air.

Wilson pitched admirably in a no-decision on Thursday, as he allowed two runs on six hits and two walks across six innings in a win over the Nationals. He struck out four.
Wilson was fantastic in his first four starts, but was pulled out of the rotation for no good reason. The young Orioles righty had not allowed more than six hits or two runs in his first four starts, but had his worst start in his return to the rotation last week. It's hard to understand why the Orioles would mess with a good thing like that, but it's indicative of their lackluster season. In any case, Wilson maintains a 3.60 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 35 innings pitched this season. One thing that Wilson doesn't do is strikeout batters, as he has just 12 this season.
Mon Sep 21 201517:56Wilson confirmed as starter for Wednesday's game
Wilson has been confirmed as the starter for Wednesday's game, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
As expected, Wilson will take the hill Wednesday, despite being hit hard in his last start Friday against Tampa Bay. Over 4.1 innings, Wilson allowed six runs on eight hits with two walks and only one strikeout.

Wilson was battered for six runs on eight hits, he walked two and struck out one over 4.1 innings of an 8-6 loss to Tampa Bay on Friday night.
Wilson (2-2, 3.72 ERA) had pitched well at Triple-A Norfolk, and in limited duty with the Orioles earlier this year, but he was coming back from an oblique strain that had kept him off the mound since early August. The Orioles will likely give him the ball again as they evaluate their arms for next year, but he is a marginal prospect with a low strikeout rate and doesn't figure to be much of a fantasy consideration.
Thu Sep 17 201516:02Wilson will get start Friday in Tampa
Wilson will get the start Friday in Tampa, Brittany Ghiroli of Orioles.com reports.
Baltimore adjusted its rotation Thursday to include Wilson, who came up from Triple-A earlier in the week. He'll take the hill Friday followed by Wei-Yin Chen on Saturday and Kevin Gausman on Sunday. In six major league appearances (two starts) on the season, Wilson holsd a 2.19 ERA, allowing 24 hits but just six earned runs over 24.2 innings.

Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
With the Tides' Triple-A season coming to a close Monday night, Wilson will return to Baltimore to add depth over the final few weeks of the regular season. In six appearances (two starts) for Baltimore in 2015, Wilson holds a 2.19 ERA, allowing six earned runs on 24 hits across 24.2 innings.

Wilson (oblique) was activated from the DL at Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
Wilson will remain at the Triple-A level for now with the possibility that he could make a rehab start before being called up to Baltimore. The 25-year-old is a candidate to make a few starts for the Orioles down the stretch, but he could also be used out of the bullpen.
