Wilson (oblique) will throw another simulated game Tuesday, MASN Sports reports.

Wilson could still get a rehab start in before the end of the Triple-A season, which lasts through Labor Day. It seems likely Wilson will be able to make at least a couple September starts. Miguel Gonzalez could be sidelined as soon as Friday, so the Orioles could modify their plans for Wilson if they think he can step in for Gonzalez.

Wilson, who is on the minor league DL with a strained oblique, could make some starts for the Orioles if they fall out of the race in September. The command and control righty has a 3.05 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 91.1 innings with Triple-A Norfolk.

If all goes well for Wilson, he could make a minor league appearance before rosters expand in September. Wilson is a sure bet to be called up after September 1. Showalter's words don't exactly provide much in the way of a firm timetable, but it looks as though Wilson will be back in the mix at Triple-A within the next week or so. Wilson is 5-5 with a 3.05 ERA in 16 starts for Norfolk on the year.

This was expected, but the oblique injury that forced Wilson off the hill Sunday has indeed landed him on the 7-day DL. Chances are, Wilson will be out well beyond the minimum seven days, but a return to the big club in September has not been ruled out.

Wilson was pulled from his start Sunday with the injury; considering the amount of time other players have missed with oblique issues, this might end his season. Wilson's accumulated a 3.05 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with Norfolk as well as a 2.19 ERA in six games (two starts) with the Orioles this year, though his low strikeout rate makes him a fringy fantasy prospect.

Starting in place of Chris Tillman (ankle) on Monday, Wilson tossed 7.2 innings of two-run ball against the A's, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out three. Wilson will head down to Norfolk with Tillman tentatively expected to make his next scheduled start, but he could always come back up if Tillman takes a turn for the worse and the team opts for a backdated DL stint.

Wilson picked up his second win with a quality start Monday against Oakland, as he allowed two runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out three.

Wilson has been strong in emergency work for the Orioles, including three quality starts in as many opportunities. The 25-year-old has a 2.19 ERA in 24.2 innings and has yet to allow a home run. He has just seven strikeouts and five walks, but he has induced 35 ground balls in his three starts. Wilson was filling in for Chris Tillman, and it is unclear right now what his role will be going forward.

Wilson remains the likely candidate to start Monday in place of Chris Tillman, who will not be able to make that start due to an ankle sprain. The 25-year-old Wilson owns a 3.05 ERA over 91.1 innings in the minors, striking out 58 batters while issuing just 18 walks.

Wilson has been optioned back to Tripe-A Norfolk.

Wilson came up for Wednesday's contest to provide depth, but he did not enter the game and will now head back to Triple-A as Kevin Gausman comes up to start Thursday's game.

Wilson served as a contingency plan in case Wei-Yin Chen could not go deep in the game, but Wilson's services were not needed Wednesday. He figures to be on a shuttle between Triple-A and the Orioles through September, as the Orioles try to ascertain if Wilson can be a rotation component in 2016.

Wilson, who was optioned to Norfolk on June 20, will take the roster spot of Delmon Young, who was DFA'd on Wednesday. In five appearances for Baltimore this season, Wilson holds a 2.12 ERA and 1.235 WHIP across 17 innings.

Wilson was optioned along with Mike Wright on Saturday to clear room for Kevin Gausman. He made two appearances in his latest stint with the Orioles, allowing one earned run over nine innings in relief.

Wilson tossed 3.1 scoreless innings Sunday against the Yankees and might get a shot at a rotation spot start, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports speculated.

Wilson provided the relief for Mike Wright, who is barely hanging on to the rotation spot while Miguel Gonzalez is on the shelf. Wright's struggles might open Wilson to a spot start or two, similar to the one he made in late-May. In total, Wilson has allowed three runs in 11.1 innings over four appearances for the Orioles this season.

Wilson (1-1) acquitted himself well in his first MLB start Thursday, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings against the White Sox, but he took the loss.

Wilson struck out just one batter -- a sharp contrast to Chicago ace Chris Sale, who rung up a dozen Orioles en route to the victory -- and is most likely headed back to Triple-A Norfolk. Nonetheless, he delivered solid results in the spot-starting opportunity created by Thursday's doubleheader, and he'll be a top candidate to get the call when the Orioles next need help in the rotation.
