Sat Jun 17 202312:01Max Muncy Placed On Injured List
The Los Angeles Dodgers placed infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Friday and recalled infielder Michael Busch from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Muncy suffered a low-grade hamstring strain earlier this week and will miss at least the next 10 days, but the good news is it's not too serious. Utility man Chris Taylor made the start at third base again for the Dodgers on Friday, and he's likely to see most of the playing time there until Muncy returns. The 32-year-old left-handed slugger is hitting a miserable .191 (40-for-209) in 60 games this year, but he should be stashed in all fantasy leagues because of his power abilities (18 home runs and 45 RBI).

Wed Jun 14 202321:20Max Muncy Dealing With Grade 2 Hamstring Strain
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left-hamstring strain. Manager Dave Roberts said that the team is hoping Muncy can return to the starting lineup on Saturday against the division-rival San Francisco Giants. The original hope was that the 32-year-old left-handed slugger could return on Thursday, but that has been pushed back a few days. For now, he'll avoid the injured list, but if Muncy isn't able to return on Saturday or if he has a setback this weekend, he'll almost certainly be placed on the IL. That would be a big blow for the Dodgers and fantasy managers, even though Muncy is hitting a lowly .191 (40-for-209) on the year. He's still plenty useful in fantasy, though, with 18 home runs, 45 RBI and 39 runs scored. Chris Taylor is making another start at the hot corner on Wednesday for the Blue.

Tue Jun 13 202320:18Max Muncy Out With Hamstring Strain
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) is out of the lineup on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox because of a left-hamstring strain that he suffered while running to first base in his last at-bat on Sunday. Muncy will have an MRI exam on Wednesday and won't be in the lineup until at least Thursday. If the 32-year-old left-handed slugger isn't back by the series finale against Chicago on Thursday, there's a chance he'll be placed on the injured list. He's hitting a disappointing .191 (40-for-209) on the season, but the two-time All-Star has also added a useful 18 home runs, 45 RBI and 39 runs scored in 60 games played. In his absence on Tuesday, Chris Taylor is starting at third base and batting ninth against White Sox right-hander Lance Lynn.

Tue May 30 202322:04Max Muncy Back In Lineup Tuesday
As expected, Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday, playing third base and batting third in the order against the Washington Nationals and right-hander Jake Irvin. Muncy left Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays early on Saturday due to left-hamstring tightness and missed the last two days as a result. The 32-year-old's hamstring cramp is behind him now, though, and fantasy managers should get him back into their starting lineups. Muncy is hitting only .208 (35-for-168) on the year through 49 games (203 plate appearances), but he's contributed 17 home runs and 38 RBI as well. You'll have to continue to live with the low average, but Muncy's .340 on-base percentage and power are worth it.

Mon May 29 202322:17Max Muncy Expected To Return Tuesday
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) wasn't in the team's starting lineup on Monday against the Washington Nationals and probably isn't available to play, but he's expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday. The Dodgers canceled an MRI exam on his left hamstring because they didn't think the injury warranted a scan. The 32-year-old left-handed slugger left Sunday's game early due to a left-hamstring cramp, but it's not considered serious and he should be considered day-to-day right now. Check back on Tuesday before re-inserting Muncy back into your fantasy lineups. The two-time All-Star is hitting just .208 (35-for-168) on the year, but he's added 17 home runs and 38 RBI in 49 games played.

Sun May 28 202314:01Max Muncy Left Early With A Hamstring Cramp
Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (hamstring) exited Sunday's contest against the Rays early with a hamstring cramp. Muncy started pulling up and limping while running the bases in the third inning of Sunday's game and exited the contest shortly thereafter. It's nice to hear it's just a cramp and not a strain or a pull but hamstrings can be tricky. The Dodgers should provide another update following the game.

Sun May 28 202312:49Max Muncy Leaves Game Early Sunday
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (knee) was having his left knee examined in the top of the third inning of Sunday's contest against the Tampa Bay Rays before being removed. Muncy was limping on the bases the inning prior but managed to tag up and advance twice. Chris Taylor replaced him at third base, while James Outman entered the game to play center field. Before leaving the ballgame, Muncy had gone 1-for-2 with his 17th home run of the year, an RBI and two runs scored. The 32-year-old left-handed slugger entered the game hitting just .205 on the season, but he's now up to 17 homers and 38 RBI on the year, so losing him for any amount of time would be a big blow to LA and fantasy managers alike. Check back for more updates on the severity of his knee injury after the game.

Wed May 10 202312:09Max Muncy Sitting Against Lefty Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy is not in the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers and left-hander Wade Miley. It's a good time for Muncy to take a little breather, as he went 1-for-18 with seven strikeouts in his last five games. The 32-year-old left-handed slugger has also been owned by Miley in his career. Despite his recent slump, Muncy is a must-start in single-year leagues when he's in LA's lineup. He's hitting just .209 (23-for-110) with one double and 40 strikeouts, but he also has 26 walks and a league-high 12 home runs so far in 33 games played. Chris Taylor is starting at the hot corner in Muncy's place on Wednesday and is hitting cleanup against Miley.

Sat May 6 202310:20Max Muncy Was Sick On Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that infielder Max Muncy (illness) was sick all day, which is the reason he was removed from Friday's game early against the San Diego Padres. Muncy went 0-for-3 with an RBI and a strikeout in the contest before being replaced at the hot corner by Chris Taylor in the eventual 5-2 loss to the division rivals. For now, fantasy managers should consider the 32-year-old left-handed slugger day-to-day, but hopefully he's back in the lineup for Saturday's game. After an extremely disappointing 2022 campaign, Muncy has turned things around so far in 2023, slugging a league-high 12 home runs and driving in 27 runs in 28 games, although he's hitting just .239 (22-for-92).

Wed Apr 19 202310:08Max Muncy Up To Seven Home Runs In 2023
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy continues to swing a hot bat in 2023. He is slashing .241/.380/.603 with seven home runs, 15 RBI, and 12 runs scored across 71 plate appearances. The 32-year-old has homered in four of the last eight games. Muncy is hitting .400 (10-for-25) with six home runs, 13 RBI, and six runs during that eight-game span. He will look to keep things rolling in Wednesday's matchup against Mets ace Max Scherzer. Muncy has had success against Scherzer in his career, hitting .308 with a homer and two RBI over 13 at-bats. Despite the tough matchup, Muncy makes an intriguing DFS option at his $5,000 price tag on DraftKings for Wednesday's main slate.

Wed Sep 14 202214:10Max Muncy Hits 20th Homer
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy hit his 20th home run of the season Tuesday, a solo shot off of Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Taylor Widener in the seventh inning of a 4-0 win. Muncy reached four times in the game, going 2-for-3 at the plate with the home run, two walks, and two runs scored. While this season may go down as a relatively disappointing one for the lefty, Muncy has hit nine of his home runs in the last 30 games, a power surge that has come right on time for fantasy managers who have stuck with him all year.

Sat Sep 10 202219:00Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy Not In Starting Lineup Saturday
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger and infielder Max Muncy (knee) are both absent from the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres. Muncy sat out Friday's game with a sore knee and isn't ready to return tonight. They'll likely let him heal up fully as the team gets ready for the playoffs. For Bellinger, it sounds like he is just getting a routine day off against a left-handed pitcher, although it should be noted that he has now sat two of the last three games. Hanser Alberto will patrol second base, Will Smith will handle DH duties, Austin Barnes is behind the plate, and Trayce Thompson will be in center field while the pair take the night off.

Sun Aug 21 202223:48Max Muncy Hits 16th Homer
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy was one of several players to have big games on Sunday against the Miami Marlins, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and two RBI in a 10-3 victory. Muncy now has 16 home runs on the season. After a rough start to the year, Muncy has turned things around of late, slashing .243/.350/.544 with eight homers in his last 30 games. He'll be hard-pressed to reach 35 home runs this year, as he did in each of his last three full seasons, but fantasy managers who have been patient with Muncy will be thrilled to have this production through the end of the campaign.

Thu Aug 11 202211:08Max Muncy Dealing With Hand Contusion
Los Angeles Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts said that infielder Max Muncy (hand) is dealing with a right hand contusion. Muncy attempted to swing a bat and couldn't do so, although X-rays came back negative. The Dodgers will see how he feels on Friday. With an off day on Thursday, the Dodgers will be hoping that Muncy will be good to go for a weekend series against the Kansas City Royals. The 31-year-old left the game early on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Twins are a ground ball hit him in the hand. The good news is that X-rays were negative, but Muncy might be out for at least a few days. Muncy has been a big disappointment this year with a .180/.317/.360 slash line, but he does have 13 home runs, 40 RBI, 46 runs scored and two stolen bases in 300 at-bats.

Thu Jun 9 202211:57Max Muncy Activated From Injured List Thursday
The Los Angeles Dodgers activated infielder Max Muncy (elbow) from the injured list on Thursday and optioned infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Muncy was out for two weeks with left elbow inflammation. It's the same elbow he injured on the final game of the regular season last year that caused him to miss the postseason. The 31-year-old went 2-for-14 with a home run and two RBI on a four-game rehab assignment with Oklahoma City, and he was hitting just .150/.327/.263 with three long balls and 14 RBI in 133 at-bats before he aggravated his elbow. He's starting at second base and is batting cleanup on Thursday against Chicago White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease. Fantasy managers are hoping he can return to his pre-injury form from last year.

Wed Jun 8 202221:56Max Muncy Could Return Thursday
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said there's a "good possibility" Wednesday is the last day of infielder Max Muncy's (elbow) rehab assignment. He could be activated from the 10-day injured list as early as possible Thursday. The 31-year-old began a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City last weekend and went 2-for-14 with a home run, two RBI, and three walks over four games. He could return for the series finale against the Cincinnati Reds. Muncy has struggled mightily this season, slashing .150/.327/.263 slash line, three home runs, and 14 RBI in 41 games. Despite his struggles, fantasy managers can start the Dodgers slugger for Thursday's slate if he returns to action.

Thu Jun 2 202219:09Max Muncy To Start Rehab Assignment
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (elbow) is scheduled to start a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City in the next couple of days. Skipper Dave Roberts said Muncy's elbow continues to get stronger. Muncy was able to take batting practice on Wednesday and could rejoin the Dodgers lineup next week, barring any setbacks on his rehab assignment. The 31-year-old slugger has been bothered by an elbow injury that he sustained late last season, and it has affected his numbers at the plate through 41 games. Muncy is slashing an un-Muncy like .150/.327/.263 with three homers and 14 RBI in 41 games. Hopefully he can rekindle some of his offensive firepower when he returns.

Mon May 30 202221:26Max Muncy Beginning To Swing A Bat
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy (elbow) was at Dodger Stadium ahead of his team's Monday night game swinging a bat, according to reports. Muncy was placed on the injured list on May 28 after experiencing inflammation in his left elbow. Apparently, the team feels good enough about his elbow that they are planning on sending him to Camelback Ranch in a few days where he will begin to ramp up his activity. Muncy is hitting .150 with three homers, 21 runs, and 14 RBI over 133 at-bats in 2022.
